Ooh no too small....need more practise at this!

Calamitykate · 11/07/2013 14:43

32dd I think Faye.

Calamitykate · 11/07/2013 14:44

Adair I think it'll be 28g.

suntodayplease · 11/07/2013 14:45

Such a useful thread, 6months pregnant and stupidly went to M&S measuring 34 and 42. Came out with a 38D. Wore for 2 days before realising I looked like a sack of spuds with boobs and bump almost merged! Back to JL and came out with 34FF due to bra style. Boobs are reunited with top half if my body again. If I wasn't too hot and now soaking feet in paddling pool I'd go back to M&S to complain. I'll put this one down to experience and move on!
Are there any different rules for nursing bras? I'm likely to need to order these online as the lovely lady in JL said they probably wouldn't have much in my size...

Adair · 11/07/2013 14:48

Fab, thanks. Have just found the Bra Guru site so been reading. Think I might start with 30ff... But intrigued!

Repunsal · 11/07/2013 15:23

Ok ladies,
I have measured myself and am 32 round ribcage and 36 when hanging over can anyone recommend sizes for me to try?

Aquelven · 11/07/2013 16:46

Could you tell me please which size would be best to start trying? Measured 32 round ribcage & 43 round fullest part bending over.

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2013 16:48

start with a 32H

marriednotdead · 11/07/2013 16:50

twiglets
The underwire needs to sit behind the breast tissue. If you are fleshy underarm, it is often difficult to figure out where that tissue ends. The bras that you have tried do not have particularly long wires, yet they're still digging into you (presumeably after scooping?) which makes me wonder if they need to spread further round still....

Aquelven · 11/07/2013 18:09

Thank you Smile

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 18:24

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if my question has already been answered, but can any of you bra experts please recommend anywhere I can get a decent selection of 32A bras? I find bra shopping impossible and depressing. I want something sexy, not nude or white and not a teen bra either. Padded and under wired .
Thank you Thanks

MadBusLady · 11/07/2013 18:26

Drywhite have you measured according to themethod upthread? I think I'm right in saying we have yet to come across a true A cup post intervention.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 19:47

Well....under boob =32, droopage is34/35 when I breath out.
I am currently wearing 32b ( M and S measurement) but could fit a pair of socks in each cup Shock . Will I be the first A cup feeling unusually proud of fried eggs

MadBusLady · 11/07/2013 19:50

That should in theory make you a 32B or C. Have you scooped? What is the style on that bra like? If it's quite a rigid, moulded thing or a padded one it may not be holding your boobs correctly.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 19:53

Well I love a balconette. But for every day wear a padded moulded underwired t shirt bra a lot like this
I just want something that fits and looks sophisticated, my bras are practical! Love E Macphearsons line a lot,v pretty.
Will do and have a scoop and report back.

MadBusLady · 11/07/2013 20:01

Oh I love Elle Macphersons! I find they come up a bit small in the band so worth trying a few sizes around what you measure at.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 20:01

Yes....the 32b stands away from my chest iykwim

MadBusLady · 11/07/2013 20:04

Ah, that sounds like too small a cup size rather than too small a band size. Best way to find correct band size (whatever the make) is to put the bra on backwards so the cups don't interfere with the fit. Then sort the cups out once band size is established.

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 20:38

Sorry Mad I'm being a bit thick. The bra seems to fit fine under my bust but the cups stand away from my boobs. Do you think I need bigger cups?

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2013 20:42

I think you may have a style issue going on drywhiteplease. Moulded padded bras are a moose to get the right fit on because they just can't flex to your shape at all. They have their define shape and, well, that's that really. They don't work for many people, and gaping away from the chest regardless of size is very common. Based on your measurements you are more likely a 32B or C as MadBusLady says. But try the scooping too as it's possible some of your breast tissue is further round the sides and not going in to the cups naturally

Drywhiteplease · 11/07/2013 20:59

I See. The frustrating thing is finding a shop that stocks enough different styles in my size.....bras are a nightmare! Will keep trying...

StatisticallyChallenged · 11/07/2013 21:08

I suspect you should be trying the B or C, combined with other styles too. Have you tried John Lewis? They're certainly the best bet around here for
