hello and welcome!

OP posts:
SugarSpunSisters · 06/07/2013 16:37

Ooops

Quite small shoulders, big belly [mad]

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/07/2013 17:21

SugarSpun, 34/47 would be around a 34J (the next size up would be a JJ)

Im a 30HH/J, and around a 14016 (unless you look at clothes sizing charts which reckon I'm much bigger Confused) and I don't think my boobs look that big. But I think a lot of people whose boobs look huge are wearing very bad bras so they jiggle and wibble and so kind of dominate their frame.

The shoulder strap issues should be solved by the smaller back.

SugarSpunSisters · 06/07/2013 19:25

Right Ive ordered some from Simply Be cos I have some account credit - lets see how I get on. No doubt ill be able to get my head in the cups Grin

It just sounds so massive. Also, when in magazines women's sizes are mentioned Hmm they'll say DD and they actually do look massive, much more than mine do Confused

But all my life I've been plagued by four boobs and constantly retucking them inside cups and slipping straps.

I'm looking forward to it!

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/07/2013 19:34

All bra sizes the media say are utter bollocks. I saw Nicole Sherzinger listed as a 36C recently. She could wrap a 36 round her and fasten it at the front ffs.

At a guestimate, Christina Hendricks is probably something like a 32HH, Katie Price is probably (minus bump!) a 26(28)J or similar (and she will be deceptive as implants tend to look bigger as they have a narrower root. I've seen Kate Moss listed as a 32A. She's way smaller than a 32, and she has definite breasts (there are topless images of her on google images - I won't link but it is very clear that there is more than 1" between her underbust and overbust)

SugarSpunSisters · 06/07/2013 20:19

Hmmm I think Christina Hendricks' look huge and don't think mine are that big.. I asked dp if they looked similar sized and he said 'sometimes they do but yours are usually down here' Hmm

It must be all in the bra mustn't it?

Grin
StatisticallyChallenged · 06/07/2013 20:26

From what I have seen, Christina is prone to wearing bras which are quite a bit too small Wink so her boobs are kind of erupting out the top. It's the same with many of her red carpet dresses - her poor boobs look very uncomfortable. She's also got a small waist and I believe wears a lot of corsets/shapewear.

SorrelForbes · 06/07/2013 21:06

I agree. Look at Christina in an episode of Mad Men. She's wearing properly fitting underwear and whilst she does look busty at least they're in the right place!

jitterbug85 · 06/07/2013 21:24

Been out and about trying on bras today and looks like I'll need a 32e and balconette style as dc have left me rather empty on top. Struggling to find that size in my rather limited town high street. Where the best place to go for reasonably priced bras?!

Ah, Stats we never launched our 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Bra' campaign! have had Pimms and fizz, hic

jitterbug85 · 06/07/2013 22:27

Shall check it out thank you!

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/07/2013 22:31

I think it would need to a pre competition: "Star in a correctly sized bra"

EagleRiderDirk · 07/07/2013 08:43

I've been hearing about these bra interventions for a while now, but only after I got traditionally measured a couple of months ago. I'd lost about 1.5 stone then and my poor boobs were plastered to the bottom of the cups and there was loads of space. Now I'm 3 stone down and the band isnt holding well on the tightest setting and again my pancake consistency breasts are plastering to the bottom and leaving the top of the cup empty. I'm currently in a 38D but am 35inches around ribs and 42 in bust, so I should be going for sizes around 34FF. Is that right?

SorrelForbes · 07/07/2013 08:47

EagleRiderDirk That's correct!

cjbk1 · 07/07/2013 09:58

to whom it may concern; you may recallI had no success trying 30d's in debenhams and I need comfy bras before the 16th 8 hr flight so is there a MN approved fitter in east herts or do I order a load from fig leaves and try them all? some were very right on ribs but no cleavage which I'm not willing to sacrifice please don't tell me I have to? Shock thanks x

cjbk1 · 07/07/2013 09:59

*strikeout with mind of its own Blush

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/07/2013 14:55

Ok, cleavage bras is a style thing. This was a revelation to me - I have close set boobs and used to get cleavage in everything, when I started wearing the right bra and didn't get that any more it as a shock!

Bras to try: Freya Deco, Freya untamed, Curvy kate tempt me/elegance/smoothie/wild, bravissimo satine, wonderbra everyday t shirt bra

EagleRiderDirk · 07/07/2013 16:07

Thanks sorrell
I'm now sitting here in a 34F. Never thought I'd wear a 34 again, think the last time I was 18. OH keeps staring and saying how much better my boobs look. And my shoulders are might relieved. A little tight at mo not uncomfy but there's a bit of back fat squidge, but having read some earlier posts about stretching I figured it was fine. The 36E didn't feel as good.

EagleRiderDirk · 07/07/2013 16:38

Ok, I've just double checked the standard back fat definition and checked myself out. Not sure what I have (a bit of spillage at the top of the band not the bottom) but still looks far better on my body that the old bra!

Steffanoid · 07/07/2013 17:08

fabulous bra people, can you tell me what size nursing bra I should be wearing? theres Wine for you Smile my inches are 43 under my boobs and 51 leaning forward,
my head is frazzled

Steffanoid · 07/07/2013 17:16

so thats a 42/44 ff is it, going off the blog which I found tge link for, sorry, skimmed totally over it before, im not too far off wearing the 42e I had on today

RubberBullets · 07/07/2013 17:47

Try a 42G. Bigger band sizes tend to be better to round down rather than up.

EagleRiderDirk · 08/07/2013 16:34

Wow - Ive just tried on a dress I have for an event soon. I only tried it on last week. The difference this new bra size has made to the fit in that area is phenomenal. I am not going to preach the word of the bra gurus everywhere!!!

cjbk1 · 09/07/2013 14:52

too long and complicated to explain but I had 2 fresh bad experiences today Sad am going to visit my massive boobed sister next week and got no bras expect my terribly uncomfortable 32a's and the suggestion to use chicken fillets
in this heat!
holding a wriggly baby on a 8hr flight!
not being 12!

travellingwilbury · 09/07/2013 16:01
