hello and welcome!

OP posts:
Forgetfulmog · 04/07/2013 20:25

Thanks sorrel Smile

passmetheprozac · 04/07/2013 22:39

Just measured myself, 40" underneath and 46" at my widest boob wise.

I currently wear a 38c, I know by writing that it is wrong, and the fact I have sores on my right side Blush

What should I be wearing?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/07/2013 23:18

Based on measurements alone, a 40E to start. However, it's quite common for slightly larger ladies to need a band which is smaller than they measure, so can you put the 38C on back to front and see how the back fits if the cuts are out of the equation.

If the back seems ok - not too tight but firm - then I would also try a 38F and a 38FF

passmetheprozac · 05/07/2013 07:39

I tried my bra on back to front and the band is fine size wise, its firm not tight. So I will try a 38F/FF.

Thank you Smile

makealist · 05/07/2013 11:10

still stuck, tried on 38d but the cup is still too large, now what size do I try, a 40d was worse Measurements were 38 +42

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2013 11:12

make what was the back like on the 38d, , which bra was it, did you scoop and were the cups big all over, or where specifically? ? sorry for questions but could be size or style or both

makealist · 05/07/2013 12:12

The back was snug, i did scoop, it looked nice, like it fitted ( unlike the A cups i have been wearing which make my bust look too small in the middle of my chest) but i could push the cups in on the top half as there was nothing to fill them, if you can see what I mean!

makealist · 05/07/2013 12:13

I tried M&S BHS and a Triumph bra

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2013 12:42

were you trying t-shirt/moulded type bras by any chance? just when you mention pushing them in.

makealist · 05/07/2013 17:31

Sort of, they were very padded/moulded

jitterbug85 · 05/07/2013 18:10

Jumping on board with the bra revolution and checked out the blog. Heading off to try some on tomorrow so have I worked this out right...? 32.5 in the back and 37.5 bust. So try 32D and cup size above and below if need be?

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2013 18:16

makealist that could quite possibly be the culprit rather than the actual size. Moulded bras are very inflexible in that they don't adapt to your shape at all. Especially if you have breasts which have lost some of their fullness (glowers at DD) then they can be very hard to fit properly as they often fit one part, but then gape at the top of the breast. Hopefully Marriednotdead will appear soon but I would suggest, if you like something which is still moulded, maybe trying the Cleo Juna or the Panache Idina balconette - both still have moulding but because they are balconettes they avoid the issue of the hollow top section

jitterbug85 welcome onboards. You've underestimated slightly - try a 32DD and 32E to start and adjust from there

jitterbug85 · 05/07/2013 18:24

Ha Ive been wearing a 34B forever! No wonder I find them so uncomfortable! never been so excited to go bra shopping! Will be passing this on to all my girl friends. Thank you

nothernexposure · 05/07/2013 22:06

Hi, hoping for some bra help please!! Previously been horribly measured at M & S by a fitter who grimaced and told me i was smaller than 34 aa cup :-O. Currently measuring about 31" under boob and 39 round boobs bending down. Any suggestions?

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2013 22:19

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha smaller than a 34aa, what a farking clueless muppet

Start by trying a 30FF, 30G, 32FF and 32F.

34AA.....un-be-lievable

FishCalledWonder · 05/07/2013 22:45

Sorry, really late to all this, but just measured 32" under and 40" round. Been wearing 36c forever.

Going to order a range of sizes from Bravissimo as just seen they have free returns. Which sizes should i try?

Thanks.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2013 22:49

Start with a 32FF and sizes around it. If there are particular bras you like then say which ones as one of us has probably tried and will be able to advise if they run big, small etc

SorrelForbes · 05/07/2013 23:21

Did an intervention tonight (happy days). 36A to a 28F Grin

SorrelForbes · 05/07/2013 23:22

WTF? Just read the post above about the M&S fitting! Unbelievable. They are soooooooo shit.

Indith · 06/07/2013 15:34

Bra ladies I have a mission for you!

I have just got a very, very nice dress to wear to my sister's wedding. Very nice. The most lovely thing I have ever owned. More expensive than most of the rest of my wardrobe put together.

The back is lace until just below my bra strap.

What do I wear under it?

Currently wearing 30F Cleo Juna but tbh the back is a little large now, I could probably go to a 28 but a bit inbetween sizes, was trying on panache bras yesterday in Bravissimo and 30 was huge but I couldn't do 28 up.

I suit the shape of the cleo. I am not very full at the top and anything, I mean anything full in the cup gives me saggy tit look.

What are backless bras like? I see lots of stick on things and stuff. Do they work? What size would I get?

What about those low back things? Like [http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOW-BACK-BRA-STRAP-CONVERTER-FULLY-ADJUSTABLE-NUDE-BLACK-WHITE-or-Choose-All-3/171055367855?_trksid=p2047675.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555003%26algo%3DPW.CAT%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D29%26meid%3D8882774328331982254%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D1013%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D400493705532%26 this?]]

Wedding on the 20th of this month so not much time!

sparkle12mar08 · 06/07/2013 16:05

Could you try a black Juna in 30F & 30FF? Black dye is notorious for tightening bra fabrics so if you're between sizes it might just be enough? Alternatively a nude 28 Juna with an extender might work, or you could wear it in for a fortnight and it might give enough by then? I find Juna quite stretchy.

sparkle12mar08 · 06/07/2013 16:07

And for that price I'd give the low back converter a whirl anyway.

StatisticallyChallenged · 06/07/2013 16:13

I've used a low back converter and I think they are ok. ALternatively, you could try the strapless wonderbra ultimate - mine sits pretty low at the back and hides under a dress which I thought would require braless.

Indith · 06/07/2013 16:25

Sparkle I have Junas already that fit fine, the problem is that the dress is lace at the back and therefore you can see the bra through it so I was wanting a backless or some other solution to hide the bra!

I may try that converter thingy.

I tried on that wonderbra ultimate. It was all manner of wrong on me Grin

SugarSpunSisters · 06/07/2013 16:37

Errmmm I think my new size is 34 J/K Shock - can this be right? 34.5 back 47 dangling forward?

I currently wear a mixture of 36 and 38 G's but my boobs are ALWAYS spilling over the top of the cups and the straps ALWAYS slipping off my shoulders.

I was so pissed off with four boobs, that I went to matalan one day before work and just bought the biggest bra they had, which was a 38 G. I swear I could fit six hands down the back of the band.

The thing is, I don't think I have massive boobs Confused compared to some women I see.

I am a size 16 up top, quite small sh
