hello and welcome!

OP posts:

Perhaps take a picture side on?

gingerpinz · 25/06/2013 19:22

Just wanted to say thanks for the fantastic advice earlier in the thread. I am currently wearing the Panache Jasmine I ordered from Bravissimo and it fits brilliantly and gives me so much lift and shape...much, much better than what I was wearing before, even though it is the same size!!

I ordered the Candy Bliss and Cherry Fling too but not as sure about them...prefer the Candy Bliss in terms of looks/colour but not convinced it fits as well as the Jasmine. If they did any other colours in the Jasmine I would definitely just get another one of those but since they don't I am tempted to just keep the Candy too, unless anyone can suggest another one that might have a shape/fit similar to the Jasmine??

marriednotdead · 25/06/2013 20:38

Ain't nothing like the Jasmine in JJ or K gingerpinz, that's the problem!

gingerpinz · 25/06/2013 20:55

Ok, thanks married, that's a bit annoying! Might just keep the Candy Bliss too then so at least I have something in a lighter colour. It's still gives me a much better shape that the Tango I have been wearing.

marriednotdead · 25/06/2013 20:59

Twiglets I don't think your profile is public so I can't click onto it.

marriednotdead · 25/06/2013 21:01

The Jasmine is available in another colourway- have a look on Figleaves and Amazon.

gingerpinz · 25/06/2013 21:10

Thanks married. I had seen that on ebay but couldn't find a 32k and I really wanted something in a lighter colour anyway.

PassTheTwiglets · 26/06/2013 11:16

married, I took down the photo after I'd got my answer but thanks very much anyway!

The Undercover Experience have got some Curvy Kate bras on two for one if anyone's interested. I'm a CK virgin- what size should I order if I'm 30H in Freya? They have stretchy backs right? 28HH?

RubberBullets · 27/06/2013 11:49

I've commented too

SorrelForbes · 27/06/2013 13:31

CelticPromise I have a Curvy Kate Thrill Me in a 30G which is now too small. Next time I'll probably buy a 30H (my normal size is 30GG) as personally I don't find the band on that style that large.

OneLittleLady · 27/06/2013 14:50

I went into House of Fraser today in search of new bras and came away with two Elle McPhearson Intimates bras in a 34G which fit BEAUTIFULLY. I changed into one as soon as I'd bought them Blush no pinching, no overspill, no rubbing, no riding up, no cup wrinkling, all this even after vigorous scooping. It's a miracle!

CelticPromise · 27/06/2013 15:01

Thanks Sorrel I'll go for a 30.

sparkle12mar08 · 27/06/2013 17:45

To lob another opinion into the mix, I've got two both Tease Me and Thrill Me, and find them both exceptionally stretchy in the band. I measure 31.1, normally wear a 30 and take a 28 in the Showgirl range! Def order a cup bigger too.

WhirlyByrd · 27/06/2013 18:53

Urgent intervention required. My back is 40in, over measurement is somewhere around 49/50 in. I just about fill an F cup, but according to these measurements I think I should be wearing a GG. Currently being driven mad by frayed old 40Es, where the elastic has gone and the sides fold up. Sooo uncomfortable! I thought I needed to go down a back size so bought a 38F, but that has made it even worse.

Help!

sparkle12mar08 · 27/06/2013 19:03

Have you been able try any 40GG's on WhirlyBird? It certainly sounds as if you should be wearing a bigger cup size. When you say you tried a 38F, what exactly did it make worsae, can you describe the problems? You may well need a 38 back but I doubt an F will ever cut it - in theory you'd need at least a GG in that too. I'm eondering if you feel the old 40F's fit because the back is so loose through age and wear that it's gifting extra false room to the cups. A G/GG isn't all that m,assively more than an F , only 2, possibly three cups, and a very loose back could quite probably stretch that much.

WhirlyByrd · 27/06/2013 19:08

Hi sparkle the problem is I've tried all sorts of bigger cups and I just don't fill them _ sometimes even an F I can put my hand in the top of the cup and G is ridiculous on me (nothing in the top of the cup IYSWIM) When I go down to a 38F, the elasticated side of the bra folds up on itself (I am carrying a few excess stones pounds Blush).

WhirlyByrd · 27/06/2013 19:09

I should add that in my old 40Es that I'm wearing fold up at the side. I thought it was because the eslatic is knackered but even the new 38Fs I tried do it too. I am so uncomfortable I spend most of the day feeling irrationally stabby!

CelticPromise · 27/06/2013 19:46

Whirly when you tried the 38 did you put it on back to front to test the band? If the cup is too small it will make the back feel tight. I'd try a 38 and even a 36 as you should wear the tightest back you can comfortably manage, and then go through the cups until you find your fit. If you can fasten a 38 easily that suggests a 40 is def too big. Getting the band right first its crucial.

CelticPromise · 27/06/2013 19:48

I wonder if a too small cup is pulling the band at an angle that makes it fold? have you scooped?

sparkle12mar08 · 27/06/2013 19:54

I agree with Celtic, try the whole back-to-front thing first. It will, and should, feel very firm if it's right. It shouldn't be painful and actually restrict your breathing, but it may well feel tight. I really believe you need something along the lines of a 38GG/H or a 40G/GG, all the problems you describe are symptomatic of too small a cup.

WhirlyByrd · 27/06/2013 20:15

Thanks for the advice, ladies. Yes, I did put the bra on backwards (the 38F) and actually went as far as buying a few as they seemed to fit so well. It was only after I really started moving about in them that the sides started folding out and up.

I measure a 40 around my chest without adding inches on. I can just about get the 38 done up (it's tight) so I don't think I can go down to a 36. The thing is, when I tried the G cup on in the 40 and the 38 back, even after scooping there just isnt enough boob to fill the cup. It is so empty at the top that I could fit my fist in with space to spare. I am at a complete loss!
