Hopefully will be able to help you out with colours.

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 21:43

Variety is the spice of life shop!! And I've not had my colours done properly, just a guess from layering colours on and what I know does and doesn't work on me from 8 years working with clothes day in day out!!

shopafrolic · 17/02/2013 21:43

Marsha VW update. It was the Red Label show, she was there and looked amazing apparently. Celebs (?!) present backstage were the Kidds and Meg Matthews! Collection described as gorgeous and restrained for Westwood.

A year out of the loop has had far too great an affect so I am desperate to get back up to speed Grin

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 21:57

Swoooooooon at the VW Red Label show!!

MarshaBrady · 17/02/2013 22:01

Thanks Shop! Sounds good, like the idea of restrained.

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 22:03

Ooooh, what do you think of http://hire.girlmeetsdress.com/collections/wedding-belles/products/finch-charm-dress this dress for date night with DH for our anniversary?

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 22:03

Link here

MarshaBrady · 17/02/2013 22:06

Very pretty.

BrandyAlexander · 17/02/2013 22:09

I really like it Blondie. Think its beautiful and I would love to be able to pull it off but get the feeling I would look dowdy (I am short), so that's the only risk for you I think. Great website though!!!!

libertychick · 17/02/2013 22:21

Lovely dress Blondiedoll and love the website - I never get out - no family nearby to babysit and DH paranoid about babysitters I feel like hiring a pretty dress just to slouch around the house in!

This thread has really inspired me to think about my style and I'm getting much more confident and assured about it. I am keeping a spreadsheet of purchases and pinning them makes me aware of the total look of my wardrobe. On the size thing I would say keep dressing nicely - I was overweight for years - size 16+ Blush and never bought nice stuff as I was always planning to lose weight and didn't want to waste money but actually you only end up feeling bad about yourself which doesn't help.

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 22:25

Gahh I am 5'6, is that tall enough to pull it off do you reckon? I am of funny proportions, at least 2/3 leg 32" inside leg... Shortest ugliest roundest torso known to mankind!

Thinking if it's chilly a pair of grey Wolford and peachy/pink Carvela MJ's or if warmer Grey suede metal spike 120's?

AmberNectarine · 17/02/2013 22:31

Cute dress, but there have been a few threads on here about that site and poor service. Worth a quick look.

blondiedollface · 17/02/2013 22:53

Ooooh, thanks Amber massive bugbear of mine is bad service. Literally won't go in a shop or use a company again if it's that bad so thank you for the heads up :) I have a lovely Ted Baker dress that I've never worn out so may just lump with that - it's Cobalt, so quite in style I think?!

QueenBOObread · 17/02/2013 23:16

Just a quickie on the white jean hunt: tried on these Citizens which are highish-rise, good quality denim, pretty much perfect but I didn't want to rush in, in February!

MarshaBrady · 18/02/2013 08:24

Nice QueenBoo!

Is everyone on half term this week?

shopafrolic · 18/02/2013 08:34

We are Marsha, must get more organised - I had no idea and am now at a loss for things to do this week. Can't handle soft play in the holidays!! At least the sun is coming out.
Nice jeans QueenBoo

Shop I have never been to a soft play centre! I have been to the Horniman Museum in the holidays more times than I care to say however.

So far so good, they are playing separately. And it's 8.37, good going Wink.

BrandyAlexander · 18/02/2013 08:50

It is in my area Marsha, I will care a lot about half terms from September :).

Its been a rare night where dh and I were only disturbed by one child so we feel like we have won the lottery! Late start for me in office so just heading into gym to work off 4 days of celebratory lunch and dinners.

Today, will be wearing a blue pin stripe dress from John Lewis Collection. They do nice work clothes, only problem for me is the vanity sizing. 8 is quite big and they don't do a 6. This dress is a good cut so can get away with it - capped sleeves shift dress. Am teeming it with navy jacket from Fenn Wright Manson petite. They had a brilliant season about 2 years ago where I bought 2 dresses with jackets and then have been poor since. Let's hope SS2013 is a better one for them! Marcie bag and Stuart Weitzmann black patent pumps. The shoes are okay but I really need a pair of dark navy pumps so when I start buying again that will be on the list. I paid the credit card bill this morning and still feel faint. Dh started to moan about the fact that the money came from savings so I cut him off by pointing out this is first time in 7 years I have spent any of my bonus money on me so stop being a killjoy! Grin

McNally · 18/02/2013 09:11

There must be something in the air, novice. DD (9 months) slept through for the first time last night. Amazing! Sounds like you had a lovely weekend.

Shamelessly taken inspiration from Ambers great blog and have ordered the Pure Collection cashmere snake print scarf in black/sapphire. I was looking for a new scarf to go with my black trench. The one I'd been wearing wasn't cutting it warmth wise.

AmberNectarine · 18/02/2013 09:24

I'm seriously considering the Sapphire myself McNally! Glad you like the blog!

Annianni · 18/02/2013 09:34

First day of half term today and we've had tears already.

We're off out shopping.
Nipping to Tkmaxx first looking for James Perse (sp?) tshirts... as recommended by Amber on her fabulous blog.

Ds1 has £50 burning a hole in his pocket, so Lego shop here we come!

I'm wearing crop Hudsons, white gap tshirt, grey slouchy cardigan, grey/silver studded ballet pumps and using the Marc Jacobs red bag for the first time.

Gingersnap88 · 18/02/2013 10:12

We did soft play last Saturday and it was hellish! The Horniman is lovely, as is the playground across the road with the big sandpit. Hmm, maybe a trip out is in order.

I am feeling utterly unglamorous today. DD (11 months) has a tummy bug and every time I get dressed I get sicked upon, might give up for today!

Thank you for the advise re the jeans, think you are right and that the sizing is all over the place so will try them on first.

Apologies for dreadful impersonal typing, using ipad one handed whilst feeding sigh

(Off to find some loafers as inspired by enbrogue. I love heels but cannot wear them, they cripple me, unlike my mother who seems to have Barbie feet. And my feet grew in pregnancy (!!) so slowly replacing expensive extensive shoe collection)

libertychick · 18/02/2013 10:35

Have now lost two posts - quick hi - mad day at work, will check in later. Enjoy the sunshine all.
