Lovely isn't it. I didn't have breakfast so it was first thing I had, went straight to my head!

shop do NOT buy the Rag&Bone. It is 100% viscose, catches on everything and bobbled on first wear. For £145 I expected a lot better.

Hi everyone, just dropping in to say hello as I am madly tidying the house in advance of my Mum's arrival for a very rare visit. Loving your day shopping novice, how lovely. Credit to your DH as well, mine would have lasted about 20 minutes before reaching his shopping boredom threshold, even if we were shopping for him .

I have been fairly well behaved this week. Been enjoying my Pistols and leather trousers. My NAP mostly last of the sale order arrived but is all going back - which is nearly as good a feeling as keeping nice stuff ...maybe it makes the next actual purchase feel almost free?!

It was

this skirt which is actually quite nice but I don't really know how I would style it/where to wear

these which would be great (for the gym, obvs), very flattering, except for the camel toe

And a Racquel Allegra jersey beach dress which was just too vile to even link.

I then took this skirt back to Zara as again, it is nice but I'm not sure where I would wear it and my legs would rarely be brown enough to wear it without tights and it looks wrong with tights

swapped for these but they are also going back. I love the print bit the fabric is really thick and stretchy, another case of looking like a pair of sausages. I picked up this t-shirt in Allsaints to go with it and it will probably be the one thing I keep, it is rather nice.

Got some lovely things for DS1 and DD in the Elias & Grace sale which made me feel better. Am madly ebaying stuff to fund my wishlist but most of the things on it seem to be selling out Sad, probably just as well, they were silly prices - £585 for Preen pants, crazy...I need a more focussed S/S plan, a la Marsha.

Off skiing on Monday for 5 days so will be sorting stuff out, but will be checking in occasionally, internet access not great where we will be. Have a great week everyone.

Exactly Sleep very virtuous! Skiing sounds fabulous, have a great time if you are not back here before you go.

Wow! Fantastic shopping novice. I am all for making the most of those rare shopping trips without the buggy!

Good going on all the returns sleep - find sorting out returns such hard work! Have a great trip.

I'm waiting for this sweater to arrive. I'm supplementing my relaxing round the house wardrobe! Not massively exciting, but with poor teething DD we're not making it out much at the moment.

When buying DD some things from baby gap in the 30% off I also got this sweater in navy and pink. Not my most exciting buy but feels nice, was a bargain and a useful basic.

What a fab shopping trip novice. Having been in centre parcs I haven't done any shopping recently and now we've had snow again I just can't seem to get my head round buying ss stuff that I can't wear yet.

I should say that dh is not normally this patient and we had a few erm refuelling stops! Without wanting to out myself, the day was laid on as part of a weekend of treats to celebrate an event. I could do whatever I wanted yesterday minus the dcs. I chose a lie in, brunch, an art gallery, a few hours of shopping then dinner.Haven't properly been shopping in about 4.5 years as I have done it all on line!

Chapeau Novice! That's quite a shopping trip Smile and intrigued to know what the event is .

The leather jacket arrived today and alas it's being returned. Lovely shape, lovely fit, perfect length and I like the simple lines but the leather is very fine and very soft and it feels like I would wreck it fairly quickly - it wouldn't survive getting a bit wet and being chucked on the back seat of the car with a change bag on top of it which is the inevitable destiny of all my outer layers. On the plus side like sleep I feel quite virtuous about my (accidental) thrifty ways and provided I don't buy anything else this month it means I am within my budget.

Ordered this DKNY dress last night - 80% off - had to be done!

Great DKNY Liberty!

Sounds like a lovely day Novice. Which gallery did you go to?

Me too QueenC I'm ready to go on blush flats, but I need sign of life / sunshine out there.

I should just get them now not sure why I have some sort of shopping inertia Confused

Report
libertychick · 16/02/2013 15:24

I find it hard to shop for S/S things too - need sunshine to feel inspired. But you should get them Marsha - you have talked about them so much on here that you have probably inspired others to get them and they could sell out

Report
MarshaBrady · 16/02/2013 15:32

haha I now I suddenly realised I am boring myself talking about them Grin

Also love the hysterical shopping emoticon. Made me laugh. I need a bit of oomph

Report
libertychick · 16/02/2013 15:34

Oh you are not boring! They are lovely and half the fun of new stuff you really want is the anticipation.

Report
MarshaBrady · 16/02/2013 15:35

Ah thanks Grin. You're right if they sell out in my size I'd weep.

Report
libertychick · 16/02/2013 15:36

I wonder what a hysterical shopping emoticon would look like???? It would need little legs, sharp elbows and a yellow selfridges bag hanging off it's arm!

Report
libertychick · 16/02/2013 15:38

If they sell out in your size I think several voguettes would weep with you Grin

Report
MarshaBrady · 16/02/2013 15:42

haha. I'm not mentioning them until they are at my abode. I will get them now or when the first lark chirps or whatever is Spring-like enough. Grin

Emoticon - frazzled hair. How I feel if I go near Selfridges or anywhere with fast shopping music.

Good haul Novice.

Nice dress Liberty.

Shop would these tan ballet flats be any good for you, or are they a bit too blingy?

I've ordered them in black.

I'm a bit undecided about the red bag. I'm looking at it hanging next to my winter clothes and it just looks a bit wrong.
I wish the gold hardware was silver, that the strap was a bit longer, and it is a very bright red.
But I think when the weather's a bit warmer, i'd regret sending it back.
And my dvf red bag has gold hardware and I don't notice it anymore.

I've also bought one of these bad boys today.
I can't believe that my baby's growing up he'll be 2 next month.

Novice, congratulations , you must have done something v. amazing to have such a giant sized treat. So lovely of your DH to go shopping with you, it's always good to have a second opinion. Now, what would I buy if I had that much at my disposal...a fab coat, bag and shoes and 'poof!' it would be gone. Health to wear as they say.

Marsha, get the shoes, Spring will be here soon enough.

Sleep, have fun skiing. DH was just saying this morning how he'd love to be going. It's the indoor ski centre for us this half term Grin.

Bonsoir, your new sunglasses are adorable - you must be going for a certain kind of look .

BrandyAlexander · 16/02/2013 16:00

Marsha it was the national portrait gallery. I still think of it as a gallery rather than museum! Dh lasted just under 2 hours bless him.

Thanks Anni, my ds got one of those at xmas too. He will be 2 in a few months then I can't call him my baby. Sob!

Have fun skiing Sleep.

Please order the shoes Marsha, you'll regret it if they sell out.
And there's snowdrops in my garden, definitely Spring like :o

pickledsiblings · 16/02/2013 16:11

novice, DS is 5 and we still call him the baby, it won't be that long before you'll be buying a mini micro and a scoot bike.

Anni, the bag doesn't sound right in terms of strap length. The colour will be great when the sun shines. Don't keep it if it's not perfect. Put the money towards something else instead.

BrandyAlexander · 16/02/2013 16:15

Marsha make sure you don't leave it too late to get the shoes. Look what happened with my Helmut Lang cardigan!

Have a good time skiing sleep. I would need a whole new wardrobe for that :)
