Shop so sorry to hear that.

AV is here looks gorgeous, colour is amazing and so soft will try on later.

Annianni · 04/03/2013 14:27

So sorry to hear that Shop.

The Whistles grey jacket is here and I love it. It fits perfectly. I wish they had it in navy too.

And the Whistles seam back tee is a success too. Thanks to Shop for the recommendation.
It's great in the blue and the khaki. The black is too harsh on me, so i'll send that back.

I might get my colours done one of these days.

carrie74 · 04/03/2013 14:50

So sorry to hear your news, shop, I hope something comes along very soon.

Eldest has been off school today with a slight fever, but fairly well in herself, so we've gone through her summer clothes to work out what we need to supplement from the US, but looking at Gap and Old Navy is not inspiring me (plus was fairly disappointed in some of the Old Navy quality, although it was expected). A now torn as to whether I hold out for a Boden code and buy from there knowing quality should be pretty good, or risk waiting until we travel. She's got enough to be going on with TBH, but won't last until the summer.

In fact it's killing me holding off here when I kep seeing all these bargains (and start to wonder if I'll actually match them over there, ESP with the ER drop), but I really do have to hold off. The bargains (or the next ones) will still be here when we get back if there weren't any there...

Decameron · 04/03/2013 15:00

Shop, sorry to hear that. I hope your DH finds a new job very soon. My DH lost his job when Lehman Brothers collapsed, DD1 was a few months old and I had just given up work, it's a stressful time.

I'd also like the jacket in navy, Anni. I bought it in black. Thinking of getting this navy jersey blazer. I just need to check the sleeves are long enough.

I ordered these but they aren't comfortable and I can't do uncomfortable shoes so back they go. My friend is bringing me back these J Brands and these from her trip home to the US. I'm now putting myself on a jeans buying ban for a while.

Nice to hear from you, Dona.

QueenCadbury, I'd get the bracelet if you haven't seen a bag you love.

BrandyAlexander · 04/03/2013 15:36

So sorry to hear that shop Hugs to you. x

foxysocks · 04/03/2013 15:44

oh shop, i'm sorry it wasn't better news. thinking of you. x

queenc I'd love a rose gold bracelet, which one do you have your eye on?

BrandyAlexander · 04/03/2013 15:48

QueenC will do. I like Primarks for my "just hanging out with the dcs" knits. They wash really well and as they are as cheap as chips I have about 10 of them! The key is to never tumble dry them.

QueenCadbury · 04/03/2013 16:04

novice I never put my knits in the tumble dryer-I'm quite meticulous about hand washing (or hand washing cycle on the machine) and drying flat. It certainly keeps them looking good. I've never forgiven my dh for putting one in the tumble dryer and shrinking it and that was about 7 years ago Grin. Have never been able to find one in a similar colour.

foxy I have my eye on a few! Some within budget, some total fantasy. Will link later when kids in bed.

QueenCadbury · 04/03/2013 16:13

anni don't suppose you live anywhere near Exeter? I'm going to get my colours done with hopefully as soon as there's a weekend date I can do. Dh thinks I'm mad but has agreed to pay as a Mother's Day pressie. Wonder if he'd get me a bracelet too...?!

Annianni · 04/03/2013 16:21

No sorry QueenC, that'd be about 4 hours of driving for me each way :o

I'm up in the north west.

Annianni · 04/03/2013 16:28

That navy jacket is lovely Decameron, and the jeans too.

Let me know what the sleeve length is like please (i've got stupidly long arms)

I could put it on my wish list for next month.

winefairy · 04/03/2013 17:52

Hello again. Just want to add to the 'sorrys' for what it's worth, shop. Hope your DH finds something else very soon.

My Whistles grey jacket arrived on Friday and I love it but think I may need to try the size smaller. I also long for a navy and may check out the Kaliko one recommended on another thread although it's not a brand I'm familiar with and I'm annoyed that their own site have a 20% off promo but it is sold out in a 10. They have all other sizes though.

These Earnest Sewn from TK Maxx arrived too and are keepers. They are not as loose a fit as I feared and are flattering on.

Also picked up a t-shirt from Anthropologie which is not my usual style but it's so adorable and looks far more expensive than £31.00. The foxes look almost hand painted irl.

Atterley Rd. wrap/cardigan arrived also and it's fabulous. Very pleased with it so a huge thanks to whoever recommended it!

Mrsap · 04/03/2013 18:02

Shop, so sorry about DH. It is a horrible thing. Hope it all works out ASAP.

As usual, lots of great links.

Have been after a yellow leather bag for a while now. I really wanted a lovely marc Jacobs one that was in the selfridges sale last year but wasn't quick enough.

Needs to be big enough to get keys, phone, wallet, lippy and a water bottle in. Prefer slouchy, soft leather and shortish (over the shoulder) straps.

Anyone seen anything on their travels?

Thx!

AmberNectarine · 04/03/2013 18:47

The yellow version of 'my' silver Balenciga comes in yellow

shop I am so, so sorry to hear about your DH's job, but better to know, I guess, than have the executioner's axe hanging. I look forward to reading that he has found an even better paid job in no time at all x

Annianni · 04/03/2013 19:13

Gap have a soft leather yellow bag instore for £50 ish.
And 30% off starts this Thursday.
I've looked online and couldn't see it, but it's in loads of different colours instore.

Or I think there's a yellow Rocco in Selfridges for £££

shopafrolic · 04/03/2013 19:25

So I spent DS nap time going through my wardrobe and drawers, pulling out the final pieces that I haven't worn for a long while and getting them ready for EBay. I made £150 this weekend so intend to do more of the same. Whilst going through everything I found an old pair of straight leg, beaten up 7FAMs with torn pockets and a few rips here and there. They are a size too big but rolled up look like boyfriend jeans so that saves me from a purchase we can't now afford. I'm wearing them with my A&W peacock sweatshirt and some animal print French Sole ballet flats. First day in bare feet! Chilly, and pasty legs!!!
The Whistles sweatshirt arrived here and DH has told me to keep it as he's still employed at the moment, it's v lovely.
We've started to make plans about where we can cut back - for me no more nails, although I will still go to London for hair for now, we'll review again in 6 months on that one. No more clothes purchases, no more Pilates classes for now (can do it at home) etc etc...... We'll downgrade the food shopping, I'll cook from scratch more and no summer holiday for now.
Hope you won't mind me sticking around on the thread as it'll be nice to track things down for you guys even if I can't spend myself......
Thank you all for your well wishes - really kind if you, I'm very touched.

Shop please do stay, you're such a lovely person to have on the thread. And you're a brilliant shopper too! so would be really nice if you did.

I don't think it matters when we're not spending. It's just nice to have you here. Also Dona you too, if you fancy sticking around.

Love the Whistles. Back after bed time to check out links.

shopafrolic · 04/03/2013 19:30

Hope the AV sweater is good Marsha

OP posts:
foxysocks · 04/03/2013 19:51

I love the AV but it is an inch shorter than I would like. will have to style it slightly differently to make it work, but there is no way paying to return it when it really is almost perfect and might be the kind of quirk i can get used too.

I will try it on again tomorrow with a few different things. I can see it over the anthracite goldsigns with a long navy vest, or with indigo jeans and white pumps. the colour and feel is just lovely. you are right, shop, it feels like spring! (at long last!)

foxysocks · 04/03/2013 19:52

I took some pics actually, maybe i should get them on flickr for an hour or two and you guys can give me your opinions before i take them back down? would you mind?

BrandyAlexander · 04/03/2013 19:56

Course not Foxy!Grin

Shop, definitely stay please! Thread wouldn't be the same without you.

foxysocks · 04/03/2013 20:27

ok here it is... few more shots if you scroll forward/back. do you think it's the right size, shop, or does it look too small?

www.flickr.com/photos/73320713@N06/8528285969/in/photostream/

am only leaving up for ten mins or so Smile

MarshaBrady · 04/03/2013 20:30

Great shopping Decam and Winefairy.

Those J Brand Rail ones look good don't they.

The AV is gorgeous. Pretty big, but like Foxy am determined to make to work. Too much fabric, might have to find a way to tuck or something. But sooo nice so will keep.

Thanks Shop and Foxy for finding it! great work.
