Hi ladies, long time no see...
I've saved a lot of money by giving up W&A Recessionista is the new black.
I've updated my wardrobe over the past few seasons and because I like classic stuff, very minor adaptations are enough. Plus I can go to the cellar and retrieve most of the shapes that seem to be coming up (pointy toes, kitten heels, blouson jackets, A line skirts).
So what's new?
I still love the cocoon coat shape - picked up a good inexpensive black one at Zara. It gives the right shape to my spring outfits and works with cocktail dresses too. I would have preferred bright red though (Jil Sander has one that's to die for, but ???? and sold out.)
It's spring in Italy and I went out wearing ballerinas on bare feet for the first time this year. I'm swathed in pale sandstone knit layers - my circular cardi + longline sweater = cocoon shape.
Big 90s inspired blazer + slim non-jean cigarette pants are the way to go.
(Getting a lot of wear out of my bright blue Boy Band of Outsiders blazer).
If you must wear denim, ultralong flares and slim bootcuts with pointy toes still look chic. But I guess it will be ripped and rolled-up boyfriends for summer.
Blue and silver gray eyeshadow are back.
I think A-line is making a return too.
I love the ease and simplicity of mod shapes.
I also love the platform flats / Phoebe Philo fur birkenstocks.
But if I had to pick one shoe for the summer, it would be Valentino's rockstuds. Pointy toe, moderate heel, ankle-flattering straps: edgy and romantic at the same time, perfect with dresses and trousers.
Looking for a decent high street version because I don't believe in investing a lot of money in shoes.
I'm always looking for cool Nordic stuff and one thing I can really recommend is Efva Attling jewellery (I'm constantly wearing this necklace). They are chunky without being heavy and go with everything.
Really enjoyed the March Br Vogue. I love the sculptural ruffles as seen at Chloe. Summer looks are always my thing, cannot wait...
My DDs wear vintage-inspired princess-line coats and get a lot of oohs and aahs from passers-by - the smaller one has a purple herringbone coat from H&M, the bigger a navy cotton coat from Benetton. They are bargainous and look good with jeans and trousers too.
Waves and air kisses to all!
