the first one is great! I think the endless hunt for Shop might have lead me to change my mind about Bretons and stripes. i even wore one yesterday

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2013 20:26

shop I only "know" you from this thread and I'm also a recent addition I know, but I wish you all the best for tomorrow.

You won't be surprised (remember I'm the storage obsessed one) I have a system for jeans........all folded over hangers(on a low rail)..,,different coloured hangers for different styles!!!! Straight cut .....yellow, skinnies .......red, etc......told you Grin

Annianni · 03/03/2013 20:28

Finger's crossed for you Shop.

My jeans that i'm wearing at the moment are hung up on clip hangers.

My summer type ones, and the many that are too big/small/flared etc are folded in plastic storage boxes under the bed, under the stairs, in the hall cupboard...

shopafrolic · 03/03/2013 20:29

Great tees QueenC especially the first one! novice Grin
I wore this one yesterday and it's great. The red on the shoulders is a sort of faux leather piping, nice detail. Looked good with my J brand indigo Sashas and my tan Hudsons.

When I had my wardrobe edit the stylist hung all my jeans in my wardrobe. It does make them easier to choose from (I have about 8 pairs too) but they constantly fall from their hangers so am debating folding them into a drawer instead...... Hence my curiosity!
Thanks all for the good wishes. It really is appreciated - you're like my virtual fashionista family!!

Drywhite, I could do with you round my house! (I meant to say yesterday, no "only" half the cc bill was my clothes spree!)

Anni, how many pairs do you own???? Grin

shopafrolic · 03/03/2013 20:32

Drywhite in awe of your system! This is the problem, if I fold them over the hangers they take up double the width. If I hang them on clip hangers they fall off! I am determined now to only have one wardrobe full of clothes and a drawer of tees / lingerie etc to avoid hiding things away in storage. Which was why I needed a wardrobe edit in the first place!! Perhaps I just need sturdier hangers. Sorry - a it random i know!

Shop is dh in the City? Just ask as so many people stressed out about the same thing.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2013 20:41

No Novice but it's so common everywhere at the moment isn't it? He works for a big American software firm. As sole breadwinner I know he's really feeling the pressure. We can cope financially for quite a while if the worst happens but it's such a bad time to be looking for work. Anyway, positive thoughts.....

Annianni · 03/03/2013 20:42

I have had a ridiculous amount of clothes in the past Novice, I spent 10 years working in retail and we had a generous staff discount...

I had a major cull almost 4 years ago, when I moved in with dh.
I used to have 2 bedrooms full of clothes and shoes... and I couldn't take them all with me

QueenCadbury · 03/03/2013 20:42

drywhite I would love to see your wardrobe!

Annianni · 03/03/2013 20:48

I use ikea wooden clip hangers, they are great.
And those furry type thin hangers for tops, jackets etc. You can get double the amount of hanging space if you use the thin hangers, instead of wood etc.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2013 21:20

I use Ikea ones Anni the wooden bar with metal clips at each end...... My jeans fall off, all the time. V annoying. Will ponder.

Drywhiteplease · 03/03/2013 22:30

Maybe one day I'll post a photo. I have a strict "1 in 1 out rule"......when I buy new stuff.
You can get the sort of furry/ non slide covered hangers, or Matalan ( known chez moi as Mat Alan designs) is currently selling nice wooden hangers £3 ( wouldnt be rhat in John Lewis!!) where you can hang 4 pairs together iykwim....they are bulky when full though.

McNally · 03/03/2013 23:18

drywhite can you sort me out please?! Half of my jeans are hung doubled over in the wardrobe, the other half are covering up my beautiful tufted back armchair Blush.

Best of luck tomorrow shop. It is all a bit rubbish work wise at the moment.

foxysocks · 04/03/2013 06:22

My jeans are folded in a drawer but I only have six pairs -and wear them probs 5/7- so am an amateur compared to some of you. When the grey goldsigns arrive that will make seven, and am still pondering a white pair for when it warms up.

AmberNectarine · 04/03/2013 07:03

I have about 20 pairs of jeans, and they are folded in one of those fabric shelving inserts you Velcro over your wardrobe rail. I need to do something about my wardrobe actually, as the doors will no longer shut again.

QueenCadbury · 04/03/2013 08:15

The search for a cobalt bag begins again. Having just spoken to zatchels to chase up my order I asked about the metallic finish and it doesn't sound like it will wear well and will get scratched easily. Probably not the best thing for days at the park with 3 dc! So if any of you see one around the £50/60 mark then please let me know. Although I know you ladies are used to having another 0 added onto that figure Grin!

BrandyAlexander · 04/03/2013 12:01

QueenCadbury, have you tried TKMaxx? Pre-children it was my stomping ground for anything barganious and they have gorgeous bags in that price range. Now, I have no time to have a proper root around but I would definitely recommend it.

foxysocks · 04/03/2013 12:07

oh shop i hope today holds good news for you

marsha have you got your AV jumper?! mine just arrived, LOVE the colour, shape and how soft it is. also think i def wouldn't want to go smaller, mine is only JUST long enough. i need to try it on again to check it's long enough really, am just racing out the door.... interested to hear whether yours fits....

MarshaBrady · 04/03/2013 12:14

Foxy sounds promising! I left this morning early and am still wandering with ds2. I've probably missed it today. Looking forward to delivery (and goldsigns). Fab that you love it!

Shop hope it's ok today.

MarshaBrady · 04/03/2013 12:19

And it so nice it will have to very wrong in size to not keep.

Donna Ida has a few things at 50% off (although sure you all got the email!)

MarshaBrady · 04/03/2013 12:20

Sounds so nice.. Sheesh

BrandyAlexander · 04/03/2013 12:29

shop, I have been thinking of you too.

Did I tell you all what I have been wearing for the last few days? Primark cardigans Grin. I bought three last weekend (they £6 each) as a cheap cover up and they have been perfect in terms of weight of material. Quite light. Goes well over a long tee and under coat. They're 80% cotton. The real test is today as I put them in the wash last night.

shopafrolic · 04/03/2013 13:29

Hi all. Glad the AV jumper is a hit - I love mine. Super soft, just gorgeous. Like a ray of spring sunshine.
Not good news here. Job at risk of redundancy so that means that in around 4 weeks he'll be out. Such a shame, we knew it was coming. In a way it's nice to know for definite. So no shopping for me and i need to resurrect some cooking skills for lower cost meals....
Marsha don't hold the AV for me if you don't like it.

QueenCadbury · 04/03/2013 13:33

novice do let me know how they wash as I love a cardigan. I've looked at tk maxx online but probably need to go into one but will have to wait till the weekend.

Although I'm now wondering if I may just sod the blue bag (for now) and get a rosé gold bracelet instead as I don't think I can wait until my birthday for one. I wear jewellery every day so in terms of cost per wear the costs are negligible but it always feels slightly extravagant buying it for myself, don't know why.
