Anni the Massimo sizing was true to their size charts if that's any use?! From memory I ordered a M and I'm a 12/14
The delivery times are shockingly bad though!

queenB I feel guilty!

QueenBOObread · 26/02/2013 22:17

Smile Shop I still got to have that new-parcel-rush (for which I'm a complete junkie) and I've not decided against it yet in a smaller size.

I must also confess to investing in this Maxmara dress today. It hangs really well, I love the cowl neck and it's different enough to make me feel interested in it.

I can justify it (just!) on the basis that its a well-cut work staple but I was ever so slightly bludgeoned into it by the saleswoman. I'm such a soft touch in a small boutique. If it'd been Selfridges I would have been able to get away with a "just browsing" but the assistant was quietly pushy and also tried to persuade me to buy a £300 unlined Armani skirt two sizes too big because they were out of stock in a 10.

I'm 90% confident that I love the dress, but there's a tinge of Confused there too!

Sleepwhenidie · 26/02/2013 22:47

QueenB that dress is lovely, very classy. I love Maxmara, used to have a few suits and things before my life as a SAHM began. It's too grown up for my life now but I still admire it from afar. Think you will get lots of wear out of the dress even though feeling like you were bullied into it takes the pleasure out of the purchase Sad...stupid of the sales assistant, being overly pushy, it can't work for them in the long run. Re the Acne sweater, it's a different knit, a different colour, why should the fact that its also Acne be a problem Confused! Sounds like you should just get it!

Just had a "look what an amazing bargain I got!" (j Brands) conversation with DH, which backfired somewhat as he went into complete shock at the original price Grin. He's still wandering around the place, shaking his head and muttering "£900 for a pair of trousers! How? What do they do?! Bless Smile

libertychick · 26/02/2013 23:19

Quick dive in from a week of early starts, too many meetings and frantic catching up on work after getting DD to bed...thread moving so fast and great links - I'll have to recap at the weekend to enjoy them all properly.

Sleep wow, wow, wow on the trousers - they look amazing.
QueenC thanks for the Whistles code and I like your bangle pins. Like someone else said I love the idea of bracelets but I inevitably end up taking them off while doing anything.
Marsha really looking forward to the navy sweater feedback
Anni Sad on the T's and YY to Zara tat - my white jumper arrived yesterday - fabric so thin there was small rips all over it and it was covered with weird marks which I realised was colour transfer from the scarf so both have to go back. I need a proper shopping session in actual shops as I am getting really fed up of all the returns I am doing.
QueenBoo the MaxMara dress is lovely and would look great with your amazing nude Wang shoes Wink Pushy shop assistants never get me...at the first hint of a hard sell I run for the hills - usually end up regretting not buying.

QueenBOObread · 26/02/2013 23:40

Grin at your husband, Sleep - at least it took his mind off the final price!

I am so going to try it on with the Wangs, I've wanted to recreate the My-Wardrobe styling with the slouchy black Birger dress since I first saw it; this'll be my twist on it.

Liberty and Anni bad luck with Zara Sad. I don't like shopping there in person; don't have the imagination to find the prize pieces when it gets a bit jumble-saley. Much better to wait for lovely links to pop up here and adopt them. But my recent buys from there (an organic cotton boat neck tee and the black+white sling backs) both get big thumbs up from me, so worth wading if you have patience.

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2013 07:09

QueenB I love the acne sweater. I adore them in general and would be very happy to have many, so go for it. Love that MaxMara dress too, really gorgeous.

Sleep that is so funny re your dh.

Liberty shame re the Zara. I used to shop there when I worked in Covent Garden. I haven't really used it since, think I overdosed on it, Mango and Reiss.

Have fun shopping today Novice.

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2013 07:16

Anni I remember when Yoox started as one of the first. A friend at work ordered something. Then NaP came along and really does it well. Along with theoutnet it has it covered. Although still love Matches good styling. Funny Yoox hasn't changed much since then.

Ok am nervously going to try on MiH no sticky fingers, need a circle of non interruption Grin.

Pseudonymity · 27/02/2013 08:07

Hi everyone!

I'm so sorry Liberty, that Zara knit is my fault. I really liked mine - but I love fine soft knits and already have a lot of thicker jumpers - I love the silk/cotton mix and mine has no pulls yet, and I'm pretty tough on my knits. I could see how it would be too thin in white though...makes note to self to provide more details in future. Sad

QueenBoo, I love that ACNE sweater - far nicer than the Boden one methinks.

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2013 08:26

Hi Pseud!

Have been thinking how nice it would be to own two acne sweaters in different colours and knit. QueenB hth Grin.

MiH are not see-through (although need second opinion just in case) and are a gorgeous colour but am pondering whether a slimmer ankle skinny would be better. In exactly same vanilla off white.

shopafrolic · 27/02/2013 08:33

That's the holy grail Marsha - I want them slightly cropped, off white, slim at the ankle (and at the ankle not half way up my calf like most cropped jeans on me!!)
Waves to all - gloomy day, probably need to dig out the bright orange sweater!

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 27/02/2013 08:33

Could you get them taken in at the ankle?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 27/02/2013 08:36

Yy Shop that's it! They seem even wider than last ones and do look it in the pics. Will have a little look for perfecto ones.

MarshaBrady · 27/02/2013 08:39

Love that we're both looking for off-white and same shape, gotta be out there. Colour is perfect. But not sure about taking in, finding holy grail sounds fun.

Annianni · 27/02/2013 09:16

Thanks Shop, a Massimo large should fit me fine then. I'll order some in the next couple of weeks.

The Maxmara dress is beautiful, and the MiH sound nice too. But if they're not perfect, send them back.

I'm having second thoughts on the red MJ bag, I keep seeing other bags that I love. I'm sure i'd use it lots in Summer, but I might put it on ebay and see what happens.
I'm contemplating putting one of my pairs of Ash wedge trainers on too. I've only worn them a couple of times, and I only have a couple of pairs of jeans that look right with them.

Maybe there'll be something in the Yoox order today, if not then...

There were some nice things in Zara last night, I saw the organic cotton t's but they only had small and medium available to try (as usual)

There were some lovely ballet pumps, and bags, this looks fab but I think you'd see a lot of them about.

But the changing rooms were a disgrace, full of rubbish and large balls of dust on the floor. Grim!

In Gap, this stripe sweater is nice and it's cotton. Very thick though, which put me off a bit.

This is now just £20. And I got this which was only £15 off the sale rail. The fabric content isn't good, but it's lovely and fine which is what I wanted.

Annianni · 27/02/2013 09:20

These are nice too, the pink etc is almost neon. But they looked daft on me.

carrie74 · 27/02/2013 10:08

Morning everyone, shop LOVE the Hudsons, definite contender.

On the Holy Grail of off-white ankle jeans, I found them by chance last summer in Zara. They're coated with gold hardware (which I'm not normally a fan of, but works well with the cream, I think), and have gold ankle zips. They're a fab fit, and I think they're doing them again this year (but will need to be tried - I bought a pair of khaki coated skinnies which I thought were the same, and aren't quite as good a cut).

Here they are:
www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-neu-S2013/358005/1048200/COATED%20TROUSERS%20WITH%20ZIPS

In true new Zara style, looking as awful as possible on the model.

shopafrolic · 27/02/2013 14:24

Oh my GOD!!!! My eyes! My eyes!!
So the Brand Alley Zatchel's flouro bargain has arrived. And it really is flouro. I don't really know what I expected, and probably got carried away by the discount - it's going back. I am too old for it.
Amber what's your vote?

Drywhiteplease · 27/02/2013 14:48

Hello all!
queenboo love the Maxmara dress
sleep funny about your DH....mine would be the same.
Well I have finally got my gorgeous R and B Charning ballerinas in nudeGrin
love love love and have been smiling all day, shopping high.
I also found these
in next which aren't unlike the R and B, completely leather lined too £40.
And
these £26 and leather lined.
Am wondering whether to take the nude Next ones back since I have the lovely charmings or, considering the price, keep my R and B for work and smart days and wear the other cheaper ones on more dressed down days.......to make them all last longer you see! Wink
Think I know what you'd all tell me to do!Grin

Drywhiteplease · 27/02/2013 14:51

And btw I went to work today dressed as a pirate......boyfriend jeans, turned up,boots, breton top.....(big belt and sword). My dcs said i didnt look any different, that's how I normally dress........good god I dress like a pirate!!!!!!

coraltoes · 27/02/2013 16:08

Hello ladies. The NAP and my-wardrobe purchases were a success (bar the odd bit). Keeping this DVFjumper
and
stripeyblazer

and some dresses....
but bit stuck as how to style the jacket. i dont like beat up jeans, so thinking skinnies, ankle boots...but what top avoids me looking like a sailor?? something slouchy grey?

novice awesome work on the shopping spree. Great to have a stash of new bits to dive into

btw, i bought 2 amazing open mesh jumpers in Gap for my DD (aged 2) WHY OH WHY dont they do them for grown ups?? the colours are amazing, bright yellows, hot pinks...grr.

MrsRadicchio · 27/02/2013 16:10

What colour did you go for shop? I went mad too and bought three! One is going back, even though I haven't received it yet, fluoro green. I did buy a fluoro pink saddle bag too, but hoping it looks good. And a polka satchel I had my eye on full price so hopeful for that too.

I love the hudsons you linked to, I think I have them pinned.

MrsRadicchio · 27/02/2013 16:12

Love the Kors blazer, coral

coraltoes · 27/02/2013 16:12

hold on i didnt mean novice...i;m lost. think somehow i jumped back in the thread then forward again. oh sheesh. sorry!

coraltoes · 27/02/2013 16:16

queenofbored love the maxmara dress! agree about it being a great work staple..if you get chilly though, will it work with a jacket or cardi? just being practical (not my usual game). otherwise i adore it, and it will last you forever! (shame on sales woman trrying to push that skirt though)
