The lace DVF is gorgeous!

Not sure about the second one. Doesn't look as though it hangs in a flattering way tbh. Third one is nice though.

Theweek · 23/02/2013 21:01

Sorry posted too soon, part 2 of 'me me me' post.

I don't look great in black, am blue-eyed blonde, but black does tend to look sophisticated. I love colour but feel it is easy for it to look cheap unfortunately.
I am really fussy hence looking several weeks prior to event.
Isn't it easy for men...

Annianni · 23/02/2013 21:01

Who's got gigi sandals?

What's the sizing like please?

I'm a 6 in Superga, Ash bowies, Ugg etc, but i'm a 7 in my Sam Edelman ballet flats.

Annianni · 23/02/2013 21:04

I can recommend these ballet flats Ujjayi

shopafrolic · 23/02/2013 21:10

Ujjayi my favourite comfy at the moment is my J Brand high rise Sashas, one of many sweatshirts or my new American Vintage orange sweater, and either my Hudson boots or Ash Bowies.
Anni I think Amber has Gigis from memory???
Theweek the lace is lovely and the black DVF is a great bargain but more office / daytime perhaps?

OP posts:
Theweek · 23/02/2013 21:15

Annianni, I have a UK 7 in the Gigi flats, I have 2 pairs of SE flats, both a 7. The 6 was a teeny too short but depth wise was better.
Hope it helps!

Annianni · 23/02/2013 21:16

Thanks Shop... Amberrrrr are you there?

The week, I like all the dresses.

Theweek · 23/02/2013 21:17

Annianni, the ballet flats you linked to were too big for me so have just returned them. Bargainous though. If you are a 7 in those, I would def go for a 7 in Gigi ...famous last words ...

Theweek · 23/02/2013 21:20

Shop. Couldn't agree more. The aqua is pretty but again, daytime work.
The lace is available in a coral colour elsewhere but the navy looks a bit more sophisticated.
I probably just need to look at long dresses to be honest. Arghh.
Thanks.

Annianni · 23/02/2013 21:20

Thanks Theweek, i'd better try them before I order them from the US and pay £18 delivery plus however much for import taxes.

If anyone wants some beautiful blue ones, or pink, or yellow...

Annianni · 23/02/2013 21:25

I did get the 7 Theweek and they seemed ok at home.
But when i stepped outside my feet shrank from the cold and they felt too big... so i've bought some old fashioned heel grips from Amazon and they seem ok now. I think they'll be fine when the weather's a bit warmer.

libertychick · 23/02/2013 21:33

Crap hairdresser visit today - got there and they were running 'about 15 mins' behind. 45 mins later I was at the desk demanding my coat as I still hadn't been seen. They persuaded me to stay but I didn't have time then for a colour and I only stayed as my hair so desperately needed cutting. And now I think the cut isn't even - ahhhhh.

Theweek my favourite is the DVF Gabi one but how exciting to have 7 dresses on the way. Hopefully at least one is a winner.

Another vote for the Boden waffle knit here - it's lovely - I am very taken with the pink version and it's an option for a white knit if my Zara one doesn't work out.

Ujjayi my favourite comfy look currently is 7FAM skinnies with an A&W silk print blouse layered under a plain black crew neck from Woolovers. Living in my black studded Caterpillar biker style boots in this weather - so, so comfy and warm and IMO v stylish! I add a black, white and grey animal print scarf from H&M if feeling cold and add various amounts of silver jewellery depending on what I am doing.

foxysocks · 23/02/2013 21:40

ooo which sweater did you get mcnally and where from? i have a sweater obsession itch that needs to be scratched...

libertychick · 23/02/2013 21:44

Oh and yes McNally follow away - the more the merrier! I am here

coraltoes · 23/02/2013 21:47

Haha no discount code apart from the one on the phone call...sadly not on that list. Although between DH and I we spend enough on mister porter/ NAP to deserve one by now!!

Ujjayi, for comfort I'm in my citizens of humanity skinnies (super soft nd they seem to have stopped this style-grr), Hush vest top, Sandro chunky cardi with gold clasp buttons and my slippers indoors (so street cool it hurts!!) or my mulberry bikery boots when out. however on does my bum look 40 I saw a mention of some dotty p jeggings (so not my usual store), bought some in plum and in grey and am in LOVE. £23 and amazingly comfy and stylish, you'd easily think they were jbrand or the like. Look amazing with my Isabel Marant Jennys.

My resolution is to mix more high st to my wardrobe. Other than whistles and Zara, Sandro and kooples I'm a bit crap and those are hardly helping me cut back. Any tips??

As for my purchases, sorry cant link as typing one handed (had accident on snow a few weeks back) but DVF navy jumper with green neon zip down the back, MIH yellow white striped top, Joseph trousers for work, Marc Jacobs navy and red sweater (animal print maybe?? Abstract) Michael kors jacket navy and white stripe (may return that one).

Last rambling g- someone mentioned Sam Edelman...SO comfy...great quality compared to my Tory burch pumps, and so soft, total foot heaven.

McNally · 23/02/2013 22:13

I got the Madame sweater in grey foxysocks. I got it direct from Zoe Karssen as all the UK sites were a bit more expensive. It arrived within a couple of days so I was pretty pleased. It feels lovely and is good quality (haven't washed it yet though!).

Thanks liberty. I'm now following you. Loving your boards!

QueenCadbury · 23/02/2013 22:45

Damn my iPad, it does not like matches links so I can't see the dresses. theweek I'm blonde blue eyed too and love black but as I get older I see that it doesn't love me back. Don't know what other colours you've ordered but have you tried navy? I generally find it more flattering.

coraltoes I recently bought the slim leg jeans from dotty p and am really impressed by them. Haven't washed them yet though. I also rate the basic t's from there. Some have that horrible cling to you material in but the 100% cotton ones are great and even for my long body some are a great length. Wash really well too.

mcnally happy for you to follow me

Night all.

Drywhiteplease · 23/02/2013 22:46

I tried
these pointy flats surprisingly well made and leather lined, but too much toe cleavage for me and annoyingly no half sizes.......the search continues.

DVF lace dress has my vote.....beautiful.

BobbiFleckmann · 23/02/2013 22:49

I've just ordered a load of DVF dresses on the Matches sale with that extra 20%... black & white print in two patterns iwth a leather belt, emerald green and black weave with a sheer underskirt poking out and plain black silk with sleeves, plus a sheer black / gold top.

shopafrolic · 24/02/2013 00:18

Sounds great Bobbi any links?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 24/02/2013 07:33

McNally yes go for it, it's great seeing everyone's pins float past. Here's a random pin feel free to follow any boards.

Ujjayi Love the sound of pony skin. Some of my favourite daytime outfits are a bit looser, so flippy skirt, t and slouchy big knit. Admittedly I am off the wolfords atm for some reason so usually keep for summer.

Theweek I love the DVF Zarita. It's a gorgeous dress and navy is great. The others sound nice too.

Liberty ah you poor thing that would drive me to distraction. I get so cross if the hairdresser makes me wait too long. Mention to them again when you go back that you are not pleased with the cut, they should fix it.

coraltoes · 24/02/2013 07:35

Oh wow, teetered on the matches site (added pressure of expiring code to add to the frisson) but have stepped away...I do not need any more clothes. Well no more clothes that I'm not dying for...just cos they are reduced can no longer be THE pull for me!

However- good work the week and Bobbi on he DVF smash and grab!

McNally I have that karssen sweater too, and a blue oh la la one. I love wearing them around the house/park/local pub. Great for playtime really! (and for dealing with errant builders)

Novice, glad you approved of my bag collection! I only discovered bottega about three years ago, but the prices mean I buy seldom. Infact the large black was a leather anniversary gift from DH. Their leather is the best I've seen but sometimes I prefer something prettier in design- mulberry, etc. Bit hard to explain. Whilst I love bags I tend to buy sensible colours so they last ages. That said, i do Fancy something for spring/summer, maybe a teal o petrol blue...or maybe stone, any ideas?

I won't be around til evening so I look forward to the next haul of links to drool over!

coraltoes · 24/02/2013 07:36

Sorry that last line sounded like I was setting novice homework!! I meant links in general not from you!!

Marsha- yep that's it. Looks better in RL. V.pleased

AmberNectarine · 24/02/2013 07:59

I'm in crisis - have just seen this and am now torn between this and Balenciaga!

Annianni · 24/02/2013 08:13

That bag is beautiful Amber, buy it please.

What size do you wear in Gigi's, compared to your bowies etc?

I've just ordered cobalt and black/white from far fetch. The link is above somewhere.

I've just dreamt about the bloody shoes, so I had to order them.
