shopafrolic · 23/02/2013 17:36

The same is also true of scallops Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 17:38

Haha Grin.

QueenBOObread · 23/02/2013 17:42

I have a high-street versus high-end dilemma.

ACNE versus Boden...?

BrandyAlexander · 23/02/2013 17:48

Boo, I clicked pre thinking get high street and save the cash but I think I prefer the acne one which is angora so will probably sit better vs Biden which is cotton.

shopafrolic · 23/02/2013 17:55

Do you know what....... the Boden is very nice. Not words I thought i would say. And because it's white the fact that it's machine washable would sway it for me :)
First time I've ever gone for Boden!!!!!!!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 18:20

I know I am the same, i thought oh Acne for sure. Love acne jumpers.

But actually I really like the Boden! I like that it's ivory rather than stark white and I like the waffly knit. So there you go never thought I'd say that! Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 18:30

And happy sigh I still love those Alexander Wang heels, they are so gorgeous.

I had some great Anne Valerie Hash glossy deep raspberry pointy flats a few years ago, I loved them.

Also love these and these. Not completely pointy. But do have to be careful in the size 7s too.

shopafrolic · 23/02/2013 18:43

Hey Marsha we could borrow each others shoes! I think I might do better out of that deal than you though!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 18:49

Ha yes size 7 is where it's at Wink. Although not sure you would as have terrible tendency to wear til holey!

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 18:55

Oh and one last thing. The Boden is softer and sweet and the Acne is more minimalist. So actually I now like both the same but go for the look you would like most. Ok enough posts for now!

jenny99 · 23/02/2013 19:10

marsh I love those animal print flats. I seem to be wearing a lot of black at the minute so they would look perfect!

jenny99 · 23/02/2013 19:11

Sorry Marsha excuse my typo!!!

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 19:15

Jenny they look great don't they, with the black. Would love some too!

jenny99 · 23/02/2013 19:27

Yes. Gorgeous. Where can I get them?

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 19:33

Will have a dig around on pinterest, sometimes they don't say on the image which is a shame.

Theweek · 23/02/2013 19:40

Thank you for the welcomes.
Loving all the links.
Amber, that bag is divine.
I also love all the pointy flats and am chasing some cobalt blue ones for Spring, if only I could find them....
I have shopped far too much recently chasing my beloved chestnut Pistols. I have been amazed by the number of boutiques online and shops with cracking reductions around at the moment, have fallen into several traps of 'bargains' falling into my shopping basket, got some great basics but copious amounts of!

Currently searching for a ball dress for an allegedly 'dressy' school ball in mid May.
Have 7 dresses that have been dispatched from Matches and a couple from the Outnet.
Am crossing fingers and toes that something is fabulous....
Enjoy evening ladies, husband still away so am browsing...

ujjayi · 23/02/2013 19:45

QueenBoo I have just ordered a waffle knit jumper from Topshop . Not sure if they have it in cream - and I prefer all natural fibre - but thought it was worth a try.

QueenBOObread · 23/02/2013 19:46

Oooh thanks for all the comments. My absolute fave jumper at the moment is an ACNE acid yellow number which I've worn much more than I'd expected to.

But one of the reasons I love it is that it's 100% cotton and so so easy to wear and wash. The angora trims on this white ACNE make it a bit more high maintenance and I've a love/hate relationship with angora . So Boden it is; but if I don't like it I will know who to blame where to turn!

Love those leopardskin flatties too. I've a pair of Sam Edelman mini-wedges in a similar print that lift my work outfits, love 'em.

Have you guys heard of the Kaleidoscope app? I downloaded during a silly o'clock feeding session last night so the details are a bit blurry, but the gist is that it gathers fashion/style blog images then prices them up with links to similar - and in some cases the actual - products shown.

If they got it to work comprehensively it would be amazing. I need to play around with it a bit more though.

MarshaBrady · 23/02/2013 19:56

Lol Boo you're making me jittery about rec the Boden Wink Grin. I also love the acne angora I have that I wear too much.

hey ujjayi got to say am big fan of the waffle.

Wow theweek 7 dresses! You've got to link, or your favourites at least. And am impressed by school ball.

Annianni · 23/02/2013 20:04

Theweek, you can't tease us by mentioning 7 dresses but no links...

QueenCadbury · 23/02/2013 20:05

theweek please show us your dress links.

queen I prefer the boden one too.

For me the jury's still out on pointy flats. May have to go and try some on...

McNally · 23/02/2013 20:39

Hi all! Loving the links and vicariously shopping through you all. Not much to report here style wise. Very happy with my Zoe Karssen sweater (and speedy delivery from them in the Netherlands). Slouchy but snuggly. Also really appreciating my new cashmere Pure Collection scarf (thanks Amber) as it is cold, cold, cold today.

Love pointy flats even though, at 5' 2", I really could use a heel. I had a beautiful black snakeskin-ish Pied a Terre pair that I wore to death and need a replacement. Would settle for those gorgeous leopard one Marsha pinned though. We need to track them down!

DH is away on a stag weekend, so going to spend evening browsing Pinterest. Bliss. Hope it is ok to follow you all?

ujjayi · 23/02/2013 20:47

Pointy flats are a no-no for me. A combination of their being unkind to my wide feet (think penguin) and reminding me too much of my schooldays in the 80s when we wore them with tube skirts and slouchy socks.

I would rather like some leopard print ballet pumps for spring - a textured pony skin-esque version perhaps.

I really hope that Top Shop jumper works out. I am not a minimalist dresser so I struggle to find outfits for more relaxed, hanging out with the kids or working in the studio days. Marsha and I have had this conversation before, but I always feel bland and stripped of my personality in plainer outfits. I figured a bright slouchy jumper to wear with Top Shop Martha's, rolled at the ankle and a lose tank might be the way to go? (Undoubtedly there will be pendants and scarves involved too.....baby steps).

Would anyone care to share their favourite comfy but suitable to be seen in public outfits?

Theweek · 23/02/2013 20:56

Am on verge of nervous breakdown dealing with links on the I pad I had a smash and grab just after the code for 20% off sale prices arrived, whilst youngest asleep.

www.matchesfashion.com/product/151620
Wish I had ordered this however, will prob do so.

I ordered 5 styles and 2 of those had 2 sizes.
Some have gone from web site

www.matchesfashion.com/product/132851
Love the colour but unsure about it being made of wool!

www.matchesfashion.com/product/126346

There was an Issa one in a pretty coral colour- hence why drawn to it and a black Maxmara rouched affair.
Vaguely remember an outsider also, an Alexander Wang fitted and draped dress.

Have now decided I don't like ANY of them....

I feel I suit fitted dressed rather than floaty, think Ronald Mouret Galaxy as an ideal.

Arghh.
