Phew. Thought I was abnormal not liking HN. When I lived in Chelsea many moons ago I loved browsing around the Knightsbridge one.

Sending vibes to whoever needs them for the jeans.

Those Hudson jeans are a snip at £650Grin

Love the dragonfly cuff but just wonder if it's something that you'd love forever...?

shopafrolic · 21/02/2013 16:50

Blond Thanks for the Massimo 'bretonalike' suggestion. After a very long wait it's arrived and is fab - so I'm keeping both!
I also picked up this little beauty in the sale.....

that's really nice shop. my goat swing cardi/jacket arrived from style passport today, have tried it on and am not sure i can pull off the colour. it's this one pinterest.com/pin/250231323018068512/

i think i need to try styling it before i'll know whether it's a keeper. it was such a bargain I want to try to find a way to make it work!

shopafrolic · 21/02/2013 17:50

Foxy even if it's a bargain if you don't really love it, send it back. Otherwise it'll sit unused in the wardrobe. That's one of many things this thread has taught me!

Is there an age limit on the Zoe Karssen tees?

I've been looking at a couple of them but didn't know if I was a bit too old for the ones with writing on?
Just turned 40 by the way.

I like that jumper Shop
What's the sizing like?
Should I order the plum or have I spent enough today? :o

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 18:09

Yes I know you are right! Tried it on in a rush over my outfit today which is a gold silk miniskirt, dark grey opaques and grey jumper and it didn't work at all. i think because of the gold, but also it might need a trouser/jean rather than a skirt (sticks tongue out at fash spk police)

i might try with a breton, dark ink wash jeans, or charcoal colours etc after have thrown children into bed. The cut is great I'm just not sure I'm brave enough for the colour. I'm more of a grey/blush/navy girl at heart but am trying to break out of my comfort zone.

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 18:11

I don't think you are too old anni. S'all about the tude, innit?! I'm 33 and will wear mine once its warm enough

Annianni · 21/02/2013 18:21

Thanks Foxy, i've ordered 2 to try anyway.

The plum jumper was out of stock by the time I was putting my details in, so it wasn't meant to be.

QueenC, I was a bit upset that a nice pair of jeans had to die, in order for those monstrosities to be created. And they are being advertised as bridal wear!?
Silly me wore a black dress, I could have looked a right bobby dazzler in those with stripper shoes :o

Annianni · 21/02/2013 18:23

Foxy, that Goat cardi is lovely.

And great news on the breton Shop.

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2013 18:44

Does anyone else ever have a confidence crisis. It's ridiculous but I'm meeting dh from work for just a relaxed bite to eat and I don't know what to wear. I've ended up wearing stuff that I'd wear normally. But I always feel that I should dress up to go out. Walking a mile and it's freezing so far too cold for anything but jeans and it's midweek so I really don't need to be dressed up but I'd just like to look like I've made an effort. I think this is what comes from being a SAHM. At least when I worked I had some kind of distinction in my wardrobe.

Sorry for the whinge. Am going to go out, have too much Wine and let mother sort out the kids in the morning Grin

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2013 18:44

Oh, forgot to say that the goat cardi is lovely and if that colour suits you then go for it foxy

BrandyAlexander · 21/02/2013 19:07

Hi all. hope haven't missed out anyone new.

So today I finally debuted the Leopoard print calf hair Aspinal Heprburn. I have loved this bag for about 2 years and its so worth it. Its the kind of great bag which sets off a very simple and plain business suit. So am wearing Austin Reed navy crepe dress with Fenn Wright and Manson navy petite cropped jacket. Black cashmere coat (its freezing today!!!) and Louboutin Pigalle. I need to say again that I really need navy court shoes Grin. Jewellery is diamond pendant (courtesy of my lovely mil), sapphire and amethyst ring (mil again!) and swaroski bracelet which is simple with blue gemstones (dh this time!).

I tried on the tweed Armani jacket again and it didn't go with todays dress Hmm. So, I am waiting for the Damsel in a dress cream jacket then will probably go back to Selfridges to swap the Armani one. Its £650 so I don't want to waste it!

Shop so glad you love the Bretons. :)

QueenC have a fab time tonight. I feel like that all the time. Dh always looks astonished when I say have no clothes. I won't be telling him about my pinterest board Grin

shopafrolic · 21/02/2013 19:25

QueenC confidence is improving slowly.it takes a while post DC I think. I'm also out tonight and am not going overboard as it's too damn cold. I have a vest on!! I am rocking Grin Oasis coated skinny black jeans, camel and black stripe A&W knit, camel Maison Scotch coat and black LKB shoe boots with gold toe caps and heel tips. Have a few glasses of wine and enjoy!
Anni sorry I didn't get back in time about the jumper.......
Waves to all x

Anni those chandelier jeans are hilarious! And such good value. Wink. Go for the Zoe Karssen.

Shop love that jumper! Wish I had seen it earlier, sold out now.

Foxy the Goat cardigan is gorgeous, see if you get used to it. Or have someone give their opinion when it's on you. Then if still not sure send it back.

QueenC I used to wear loads more dresses, but really they are a bit of a faff. The tights, then different shoes. It's a big leap to dressing up for me, so tend to stick to easier stuff. I'd like to wear my dressier stuff more too.

Sounds lovely Novice.

Had a very indulgent day, started with breakfast then segued into nuts and champagne (had eaten enough already). Did some sleb spotting, felt happy with that Grin.

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 20:11

WHOOOP my new jeans are on the way to the airport! they're coming home, they're coming home, they're coming, goldsigns coming home....

god i am so relieved. the courier arrived 90 mins before my friend was due to leave. i thought I was going to throw up with nerves at one point today.

thanks for all the marigold encouragement, i might ask my friend down the road to come and check it out tomorrow. it's the kind of piece (!) you need makeup for, IYKWIM? whereas i can throw on something in grey marl and not bother. DH will not be pleased if i get (even more) high maintenance lol.

Theweek · 21/02/2013 20:56

Foxysocks, sorry to cut in...
I also received the Goat cardi today from SP but in red. I was actually quite dismayed by the quality, considering the original cost?
Wanted to love it for 'bargainous' price so going back!
Good luck with it!

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 21:02

Really theweek? What didn't you like about it?

libertychick · 21/02/2013 21:28

QueenC very good point re the cuff - I could get bored with it - makes the case for finding a cheaper version. And I get the confidence thing, I rarely feel that I look completely right.
Novice can we trade MIL's? Mine does a great line in tenners in cards and the occasional set of notepaper Smile . Your outfit sounds fab as always.
Great sounding day Marsha
Anni I have had the same thought re ZK and similar - but I reckon go for it - you are younger today than you ever will be again!

QueenBOObread · 21/02/2013 21:54

Foxy I like the Goat. I'm a big fan of yellow - it seems to have been under a fashion cloud for a few years but I'm now a bit of a convert. Have you seen 40Bum wearing hers with a stripey top? Very summery.

Not much activity to report while I try to stick to the eyes-on-the-prize philosophy but I do have a temptation to run past you.

I've been alerted to en brogue where I have seen and am now lusting after the black tights and white ankle strap flats look. I also saw something similar on Carine Roitfeld in Grazia. White flats were not on my List so I need to have a good hard think about them.

I was thinking of wearing them with black dress/tights at work, then more casually in the summer. I worry that I will tire of them though? Am I better off saving the ££ for a key piece? Wink

libertychick · 21/02/2013 22:38

I really want white shoes too QueenBoo, and also finding en brogue very inspiring. I am not that keen on them with black tights - sorry - but that is probably my instinctive conservatism coming into play. I am the woman who still thinks wedge trainers are risky Smile. These white loafers or something similar are on my wish list and I am thinking of wearing them with rolled up jeans or chino's for casual and with dresses and cigarette/cropped trousers for work - bare ankles and fake tan essential. Definite spring summer look rather than winter.

QueenBOObread · 21/02/2013 23:18

Interesting, Liberty - I think I'd feel quite self-conscious doing the full monochrome thing so it might drive down the number of outings they get.

But if I don't do the black-tights-white-shoes thing I have no reason to be looking at them now! They ought to wait until summer when my ankles aren't quite so drip white.

I've got those Jemima Vine snakeskin slippers pinned too! I really can't justify those given that I've just bought some snakeskin ballerinas but they are properly gorgeous.

libertychick · 21/02/2013 23:41

I am so close to buying the Jemima Vine slippers! As you say, white shoes probably won't get an outing for a while so hard to justify buying them now but the JV slippers are very versatile...or so I keep telling myself. I like the version with the neon pink trim as well.

QueenCadbury · 22/02/2013 06:38

Well, I had a great night. Don't know why I stress about what to wear so much. It's not like anyone there is thinking ooh, she wears that outfit to toddler groups, how dare she wear it out in an adult establishmentGrin

I actually like the black tight/white shoe combo if you can pull it off.

BrandyAlexander · 22/02/2013 07:08

Morning all (early rising dc2 Hmm). I don't think I would be brave enough to do the white shoe with black tights thing. Waaay out of my comfort zone! Grin

Anni, don't worry about whether you're too "old" for a certain label. My rule of thumb is do I look nice and stylish in it. You can have the same outfit from two different brands but if you don't look good then doesn't matter what the brand is, so get the ZK if you think you will look good it.

liberty, mil and I have come a long way! 10 years ago I would have been aibu moaning about her Grin. Thankfully, she decided that I was not actually stealing her son away so she's fantastic now. Dh told her I have too much stuff so he wasn't buying me any jewellery last christmas. She doesn't think its christmas or birthday without a gorgeous accessory as a gift so decided to make up for her son by getting me a sapphire and amethyst ring Grin. God it was awkward when it turned out dh had changed his mind!

Drywhite I forgot to respond yesterday re your extension. That sounds so exciting! I have a cautionary tale....we had a designed and custom built floor to ceiling wardrobe that runs all the way down one wall in our bedroom. Its like having 4 big wardrobes. Dh showed no interest in it upfront then decided during a design consultation meeting that he wanted half. Grr. So we then decided to change one of our guest rooms into a dressing room. We had it all designed and built and then he wanted some of that wardrobe and drawer space too Hmm. Bet your dh tries the same!

Annianni · 22/02/2013 08:13

Glad you had a good night QueenC.I would be a lunatic getting ready for a night out at the moment because i'm still fat and I used to be very confident about what I wore.

Which Goldsign did you order Foxy?

Thanks Novice, I may have ordered 5 3 Zoe K's to try.

Those JV slippers are lovely Liberty.

We're off to feed the ducks today, half term's almos
