Lovely QueenC, what size did you get?

QueenCadbury · 20/02/2013 21:29

Small. Was dithering about large but decided small was large enough.

Annianni · 20/02/2013 21:32

I think I may need a blue bag next :o

I'd better get ebaying...

QueenCadbury · 20/02/2013 21:34

That's what I need to do. I used to have a local second shop that I sold clothes through but it's shut down now. eBay will have to become my friend.

BrandyAlexander · 20/02/2013 21:44

Hi QueenC was just taking a look at your spring board, love it. I am soooo not inspired yet for Spring, weather is too cold for that!

scripsi · 20/02/2013 23:21

I have often stolen style tips from you lot (am now a follower of Me and Em!).While under the influence of some Dutch courage (and on a high from some good news) I was wondering whether I could join in?
I have a mix of very high end from my wealthier single days (some of which is too dated to wear), some inherited pieces from relatives more elegant than I could ever be and also am gradually accumulating higher end stuff to add to the large amounts of topshop, uniqlo, JCrew. I went back to work full time in an arty environment and seriously want to up my game after years of skinny jeans and slouchy tops, as it seems to be a good environment to be a bit more experimental, though I have lost my nerve somewhat.

shopafrolic · 20/02/2013 23:30

All welcome scripsi - this is the perfect place to refind your style nerve (I say this from personal experience!). Are you on Pinterest?
Micky Flanagan was fab, very funny, and rude!!
Well done on the bag QueenC the small is plenty big enough for the basics.

Hello and welcome scripsi.
Sounds like you had a good night Shop
I have been on pin all night! Now exhausted. I have a list of things I want a mile long and obviously cannot afford it all and have hit a point of being unable to make decisions about what to get and in what order - suspect I am hugely overthinking it all Smile
Lovely bags QueenC hope you adore them when they arrive.
Night all....

scripsi · 20/02/2013 23:48

Thanks shop I am on pinterest but under my real name and am not very organised as yet so I shall take some photos of some of my weird clothing archive and at the same time organise a new account.

Have always wanted to see Micky Flanagan! I love live comedy but always seem to miss it.

scripsi · 20/02/2013 23:56

Hello Libertychick!
I am off to work out what cosmetic improvements I can make to myself before a big dinner tomorrow. I think I am going to bed with moisturiser and cotton gloves to see if that will make a difference. Don't know whether I can sleep in a facemask (might frighten the household!).

blondiedollface · 21/02/2013 08:59

Queen, Foxy and Carrie Also Bristol here! BS15, DD too young for school, but perhaps a MNV Bristol meet-up is in order?

Been catching up as been offline for 3 days and hated it! V cold here today, so Cashmere Poncho I think today in Stone :)

Drywhiteplease · 21/02/2013 09:33

novice aam planning extension....a new master bedroom with fitted wardrobe dressing area.....you can imagine how excited I am about that. My DH will have one wardrobe.....I'll have all the rest!!!!!!
Well my day in the West end was fab (not enough trying on though!)
The shoe gallery in Selfridges....!!
Valentino.....ok, bit disappointing, no red dress room Sad

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2013 09:34

Waves to blondie. Bristol meet up sounds good especially if shopping's involved.

scripsi it's not all high end on here. I'm strictly a high st girl. I just love seeing all the lovely links.

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 09:53

a bristol meet up sounds fab!

drywhiteplease we are planning a loft conversion for later this year which will be our bedroom with ensuite and dressing room! so exciting. already DH has to use the wardrobe in the guest bedroom, I have full use of the wardrobe and chest of drawers in ours. it's mainly shoe and scarf storage that I have problems with, need to think of solutions that the architect can build into the plans.

it's freezing again today isn't it blondiedollface? so annoying, I was so hoping spring had sprung. back to the padded barbour for the school run this morning, at least I enjoy wearing it I guess. It's so true that a good coat is such a crucial investment, esp as that's all anyone sees in the morning. well, that plus scarf plus boots.

MarshaBrady · 21/02/2013 11:12

so far so good. Relaxing breakfast, galleries then more relaxing. Sometimes easier to have days off in London than it is to haul everyone on holidays.

Scripsi welcome, great to have a mix on here work/ non work, all shops are great.

Bristol meet up sounds fab, making me want to do one here.

carrie74 · 21/02/2013 11:25

Morning All, welcome scripsi

Bristol meet sounds a fab idea! Harvey Nics? Wink

Little style today, but I am warm: full thermals under Zara pinstripe work trousers and a blue cashmere roll neck from M&S. But I guess I do look professional. Am wearing some old dangly earrings in blue and green but not sure if they work or if they're actually a bit frumpy, TBH. Still, it's all worth trying, eh?

Who Pinned the Next girls stuff? Loving the flower power stuff, might even get over my aversion to the store and check it our for eldest (7.5). How is Next these days? I admit to usually buying Boden for the kids (and American brands when we travel there) as the quality is generally good. Oh and H&M down to great pricing and range. But the little I've had from Next in the past for the children disappointed me - washed badly and lost shape.

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2013 11:50

I think it was remus who posted the next dress. I don't buy much from there anymore as find it generally overpriced for what it is. Love h&m but dd1 is a tall 7yo so needs the older girl stuff which can be a bit hit and miss. Great for the ds and dd2 though. Other than that it's mainly supermarket stuff or gap if there's a discount/sale or john Lewis for nice occasion stuff.

QueenCadbury · 21/02/2013 11:52

I went in Harvey nics once and hated it. I get terribly intimidated by all the assistants and designer stuff. Maybe a couple of cocktails there would make me like it better Wink

libertychick · 21/02/2013 12:02

I'm up for a London based meet up Smile
Saw this last night - cannot justify the price but I adore it. The hunt is on for something similar at a price level I can live with - actually I could justlfy the price if it was better quality - it's brass plated with silver. I don't know much about precious metal but I am assuming this is inferior to silver/sterling silver - if anyone knows about this sort of stuff I'd appreciate some insights.

MarshaBrady · 21/02/2013 12:39

Great! Smile

Amazing McQueen cuff, not sure on jewellery.

Annianni · 21/02/2013 12:44

I've just been looking for some more Hudson jeans, as they are my favourite ones at the moment. And i've come across these beauties

Should I?
What top would you wear with them? :o

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 12:56

waaah annianni my eyes!

libertychick i love that but am not very knowledgeable about jewellery so not sure on quality

queencadbury i don't rate harvey nicks in bristol at all, i have never bought anything from there apart from diptyque perfume. when we lived in edinburgh i used to get loads from HN. i think the stock they carry in bristol is woeful.

saying that it's a nice area of the city to meet. and means we can go to all saints...

I am currently stalking the UPS website like a deranged madwoman. I have jeans coming back from the states with my friend today IF they arrive before he has to go to the airport. pleeeeease can I have vibes that they make it in time, otherwise I will most probably (make that definitely) burst into tears.

carrie74 · 21/02/2013 13:16

I've only been in Harvey Nics in Bristol once or twice (although H did agree to a pair of Citizens jeans for me for my birthday from there a few years ago), and agree that it's not terribly welcoming. But it's a good area to meet - there's quite a pleasant restaurant behind it where I went to some event a couple of years ago. Good cocktails if memory serves.Grin

Anni I think it'd go well with something red. You should try it out.

foxysocks · 21/02/2013 13:35

there are loads of good places for a cocktail around there although it can be dangerous. i once had a glass of wine with lunch at raymond blanc then ended up blowing a fortune in the all saints sale.

Annianni · 21/02/2013 14:05

Decided against the scary jeans from hell :o

Just ordered...

J brand grey jeans
Grey 7's
Goldsign jeans

And some black Hudson skinnys that are now sold out, so it won't let me link them.
