The February Fabulizers - Where we turn chores into habits and accept compliments gracefully

New thread for a new month! Everyone is doing so well, we are forming some great habits and, hopefully, feeling better for it.

some good links:

How To Be Groomed thread

Discount Make-up and Toiletries
Cheap Smells
Fragrance Direct
Xtras Online
Look Fantastic

Its also worth joining groups like wowcher and Groupon for discount manicures etc.

Baby steps are the way forward, and if you fall off the wagon and have a pj day (or week) its ok, just jump back on. We want to take more pride in our appearance, make an effort. As one poster said, "we think there's no point making an effort if we are just at home with our DP's and DC's, but they are the most important people in our lives - why not act like it?" I certainly feel better, my self-esteem is higher and I have more confidence.

All welcome.

Happy Fabulizing Dahhlinks

That is a lovely dress twinkle

Remus how are you thinking of having it cut?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/02/2013 19:03

Am seriously wondering about going for a full-on Winona Ryder pixie cut - otherwise, no idea.

Fab dress twinkle

Remus just remember that short hair needs maintenance too (and you have to get it cut more often). When I was 16 I decided that I wanted to look like Natalie Imbruglia and get all my hair cut off. Needless to say, I looked less Natalie and a bit more like my mother. It took forever to grow out and I have burned hidden all photos of me in Year 12. It wasn't the best haircuit for a self conscious teenager - it drew too much attention to my horrible teenage skin which seems to have extended into my 30s face.

Today am wearing:

grey leggings
Long sleeve, v-neck, over the bum light grey jumper with darker grey detail (clinging not baggy)
Black vest top underneath
Amber necklace
If we go out will put on knee high tan boots but for now slipper socks will do!

Only thing about this outfit is that it requires me to oull my stomach in. I think this is the type of outfit that calls for control pants Blush

Have just gone upstairs to put in lenses, a dash of make up and give hair a bit of a boost with dry shampoo. Had caught sight of myself in the mirror with heavy glasses on and hair scraped back and decided I was not embracing the spirit of this thread - didn't do clothes justice. All remedied now (with a spritz of perfume for good measure) Grin

issimma am planning on digging my hairspray out this evening. Sunday night is hair night. Am going to get my curlers, hair accessories/potions and sprays out and stick you tube on for some hair tutorials and new ideas. I'm going to steal your word, beautylicious . Hope that I'll be using it soon!

I bought Marie Claire yesterday and there's a sample of that Extraordinary Oil for hair in it. Am VERY impressed - I smoothed a bit over soaking wet hair late last night and jumped into bed. Tonight I have lovely, soft, glossy hair. Am deffo going to invest in that. Think I'll book an appointment at the hairdresser's to get it all tidied up and then decide at that point whether to lop it all off next month or not.

Very boring today - having a slob day and going for a walk in the park (with lovely glossy ponytail and mositurised/Flexitol-ed all over!):

blue skinnies
khaki t-shirt sticking out of charcoal cowl neck jumper
bright pink scarf (love bright pink with khaki)
Will add parka and tan knee high boots from tramping around the park later.

Hello all! All fabulizing beautifully, I see. Grin I have some awesome news, yesterday I wore my tan a-line mini, cream tights, navy poloneck, a woven belt and my new boots with my biker jacket and a silk scarf. Popped into a popular vintage store in town to talk about and take pictures for an article on my blog about Retro clothes, and I was offered a job writing their ads, listing's and blog posts. How great is that? He said I obvious know vintage, loves my writing and he liked my energy (also thought I was in my early 20s, I'm 35) I'm so pleased!

Walking has buggered my legs though so stuck in bed againtoday.

Hi Febulizers....May I join you on the road to gorgeousness.... I have a bit of weight to lose which in my world goes hand in hand with a can't be arsed attitude to body scrub, body moisturise, everything really apart from the bare minimum of face and hair.

I want to be at my absolute best by Summer and not feeling like an overwieght frump with crusty feet!

muddling I have decided that a blazer is on my shopping list this weekend.

My Dsis2 (who will shortly be moving to the other side of the world so this will be the last time I see her for a while) is going to come with us to Bluewater and help me shop Smile

What else to get?

Dark skinnies (blue,black?)
I would love some dark red cords
Thinking heels (I don't do heels much.....classic black or maybe some nude - have been looking at them for ages)
Some new cardis in different colours (atm most of mine are greay or blue - I have 3 grey cardis!)
More belts - am in love with my skinny yellow one now and definitely need some more in different colours/styles
Some basic tops for layering - white, dark blue - I don't have enough
Some pretty tops
Some chunky bracelets/cuffs. have just searched through my jewellry box(es) and most of what I have are old and tired cheap shit

Think the credit card is going to take a battering Blush

Am at home today and was about to throw on my usual jeans with 3/4 sleeve stripey top and hoodie, but remembered this thread and didn't want to let you ladies down Wink So today...

grey leggings
Blue short sleeve tunic top, fitted-ish (not empire line) but have cinched in with my skinny yellow belt.
Long blue cardi
Slipper socks (but if we go out will wear knee high tan boots)
green/blue/gold glass flower necklace that sits on collarbone (that I thought I'd lost and found this morning in the wrong box)

Non make-up and contact lenses day today to give face/eyes a rest

Tomorrow I'm going to be brave and wear my turquoise skinnies to work!
