Had a good day today - donated £150 to charity and got some nice clothes in return! Charity fashion sales are great! Picked up an amazing pair of Cobra Society boots, a black Helmut Lang maxi with a long split, James Perse grey marl sweatshirt and dark grey T, cobalt LNA crossover top and a slinky black Kelly Bergin jersey dress. Also a few bits of makeup (YSL, Estee Lauder etc.) Priced at £1 a go! Oh and some v boring work trousers.

Definitely worth a trek to Camden!

Wow! Exciting purchases by all and the charity sale sounds amazing! Where do you find out about those amber?
Great time at the hairdressers, lots of tales from LFW and because I was there on a Sunday much less frenetic! I'm really pleased with my hair, dark brown with lighter pieces through it, super short with an asmmetric fringe. I got stopped twice in Harrodsburg and complimented so am feeling good!
Fought my way through Toy Kingdom and the Christmas room a Harrodsburg and picked up some nice bits in the beauty room. And wanted to thank Dona ( I think it was you who recommended Chanel lipsticks?). I've finally found my perfect red and it really lasts! Amazing. Happy Sunday everyone x

Fritzi your holiday sounds beyond fab! (I'd love a short trip to the UK too - I always lug home tea by the bagful.) Damson sounds stunning...

I fly back home to get my hair done. I've been with the same person since I was 15. She's amazing. I've of course experimented with hairdressers in NYC and Brazil (never really getting from them what I wanted) but decided that she's simply the best and going back to her is worth it. Looking forward to a trim in two weeks...

Marsha I realized on Sat that there is a Celine shop and a Marni shop in Rome. They are a bit out of the way - hadn't noticed them before. I just love Marni. Cannot wear the wilder prints, but love the simpler pieces and accessories. Oh and Marsha we too are waiting for Season 5 - evenings are pitch dark now so on many nights we stay in and watch MM. (DH loves it.)

Days still very warm, both days during the weekend 28C. We took the car and had a little family outing yesterday, to Tivoli (the town on the hills near Rome), very enjoyable, everyone enjoying a pre-lunch stroll, parks and cafes busy. My favorite way to spend a Sunday.

My daughter has expressed interest in seeing the church crypt full of skull and bone decorations on Via Veneto - might take her there later this week.

I've been quite wise of late. No clothes purchases, ordered (but have not received yet) the boots.

Wearing a tunic, skinnies, and Uggs. Facing a busy work-week, focusing on getting things done. That said, MiH skinnies are made of the softest, loveliest denim imaginable. Wearing them is sheer tactile pleasure.

Oh fabulous Dona! Would love to know what you think of Mad Men 5. I won't say anything yet. I still love Don Draper.

I agree about MiH denim, really comfortable.

I've got a friend at Vogue who gives me the heads up on these things. This was something called the Closet Den at Proud in Camden. Crazy scrum but some amazing stuff there (Isabel Marant leather trews, Charlotte Olympia heels, Acne jacket etc) the best thing is they blog all the stuff they have to sell, so I saw the Cobra Society boots and knew I wanted them. Ran straight to show section and snatched.

That's excellent Amber. Swoon at the great stuff, love the boots you got too.

I'm adding 'friend at Vogue' to

'I sold it for more than I bought it' - eBay

Good things.

ooh happy Shop that you found a good lipstick! I'm addicted to Coco Rouges (but Coco Rouge Shines are not worth their price to me) - have a dozen of them. Today I'm unusually muted in the pale pink "Gardenia".

Amber envious at your inside info and loving the quick snatch Wink. Italians are not into 2nd hand / charity shopping at all. Well, cannot say I really miss that, but looking forward to traveling back North in about 10 days (will retrieve all of my winter stuff - including velvet blazer, fur stole, several coats, and rain boots).

Oh it wasn't second hand - new stuff, but all proceeds to charity.

Sigh. Another pair of leather leggings fails. Not perfect. And for that amount of money, they really had to be. I suspect that the reality can never live up to the dream!

In other news, I bought this ring and it is absolutely gorgeous, but a tiny bit too tight, and sold out in the bigger size. Do we think jewellers can make cocktail rings a bit bigger without knackering them? I suppose the answer is to find a jeweller and ask them.

Love the drama of your recent buys Hopefully.

And I don't mean the legging hunt, but the style. Very dramatic.

Thanks Marsha - I am loving embracing the Dramatic in me at the moment, seems fitting to head more down that route in A/W, I always end up more Natural in S/S.

Sorry to butt in...
Amber - I had a few Majestic tops last yr from Style Passport and found they were quite short? I am not that tall in my opinion? Are the ones you have linked to generous length-wise??
Thanks in advance!
Please keep linking.... Smile

Hmm, well I am a mighty 5'4 and mine are hip length I would say, which is fine for me, I am not a wearer of tunics . They wash so so well, and feel delicious against the skin. I have honestly never been so excited about basic tops!

Great tip Amber. I so need basics, keep getting side tracked. I have holes in some!

I love this look. The whole thing, but the skirt is so short.

Love that skirt Amber.

The oc boots would be great for you!, and new season hitting just in at Matches brings much joy. Means not long to sale time.

Am about to spend stupid money on what is essentially a trim. I need good magazines (a given) but seemed to have attached myself to top stylist. But just need a small amount off.

Will relax, forget about it and read numerous mags.

Lol Marsha. Console yourself that a cheap trim is just as bad as a cheap 'proper' cut. Enjoy the mags.

I am wearing new Toast felted biker jacket in chocolate. It is luvverly.

I'm definitely holding on to that thought Hopefully!

Jacket looks great on you.

Am meeting friend in Mayfair first, while dh does an all day play date segueing into a sleep over. He is brave indeed.

May as well check out the Stells while I'm there.
