New thread for chatting. Oh and swapping S&B tips.

Having a manic day here - INSET day at school and I have 7 kids (inc my 3) over for lunch. While also trying to "work from home" and talk to removal people.

Stropps glad to hear day wasnt too bad.

MI - why do they want five? What's their concern? Can you address it without -a. Killing self b. giving them time?
Re dp - why the row, why don't you want to apologise - is it just had enough at the moment? I try to hang on (badly) to the 'I don't have to give you an answer right now' line.....

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/07/2012 20:59

Are you all out having fun? Grin

Blackduck · 13/07/2012 21:12

Advert for some website.

Off to the shops to buy my friend a birthday prezzie in a mo (with DS who is currently bow-drying his hairHmm) - she is one of those difficult people who is quite particular about what she wears and is not into fuss and frills... Then on to her party which is always a laughSmile

Blackduck · 14/07/2012 14:58

Has anyone contemplated separation over the location of a bottle of milk? I could kill dp - half a bloody job as always (I think I am also pissed off that he is disappearing for nearly two weeks and that eats into sorting out move....)

Soft Play? Not been to one of those for years, thank God!

Yes BD, make him pay for a full packing service.
DH has finally stopped putting empty containers back in the fridge. After 16+ years.

Blackduck · 14/07/2012 17:37

Unfortunately it's a bit of a full on week (and he hasn't even packed to go yet...). We are packing in trip to new school for ds, graduation, posh dinner and all before he buggers off leaves on Thursday.....

motherinferior · 14/07/2012 18:15

I am about to go out to old mate's 49th at excellent INdian place, rather cheap, on 185 bus route (hurrah).

Work, well, I'm going to put it to them v strongly that I want to do four days. Have quite a lot of ammunition for this but am not sure it will hit the target, iyswim.

bigTillyMint · 14/07/2012 20:47

MI 185 bus routeGrin

Have had to come home early from friends fab party (who's mum cooks Indian-food-to-die-for) AngrySad but I'm sure my liver (and waistline) will thank me tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 14/07/2012 20:48

MI I'm sure you can persuade them!

Well DH had to bring DS home (bored and has to be up at 7 for a footy tournament tomorrow) and dear friend who gave me a lift wanted to leave...
I could have stayed and got a cab/walked and bus, etc, etc, but....

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/07/2012 20:52

If we come back to London, I will be on the 185 bus route too!

Met up with some old friends and their kids at Disney this pm (DH came for lunch but declined Disney itself) - had a fab time, lots of gossip, kids all get on really well, sun was shining, no queues for rides, good lunch. Just got back, knackered, having dropped DD2 off for a sleepover on the other side of Paris.

bigTillyMint · 14/07/2012 21:03

I'm on the 185 bus route (infact DD gets it every day on her bus-hop to school)

Sun was shining? Envy

Blackduck · 14/07/2012 22:10

Checked out 185 route - wrong side of river for me.. I am a north London girl (dp is a sarf London boy...)

Moved out, can't go back, occasionally miss it....

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/07/2012 22:28

I moved sarf to get away from my mad faaaamily.

Hellooo lovely crepeys. I have MISSED you all! Been crazy here but have finally got broadband sorted in new house so can at least catch up a bit. V tired from end of term excitements, PGL for ds1 (who came back with a "girlfriend" Shock) and grade one piano for dd. Covering my colleague's maternity leave has also gone ballistic as approx 1 million people have emailed in the last month to ask for things to be done / paperwork to be completed before they go on holiday to Italy for August. Am a bit stressed as I start volunteering for the Olympics in a week's time (and my outfit - well it's style AND beauty - I may post a photo of me in it for general hilarity) and am not supposed to work during school hols bar checking emails and making sure nothing urgent's happening. It's fine as maternity colleague is back mid-Sept and I can hang on by fingernails until then, but I do hate the feeling that I am only fighting fires and not doing anything properly.

Will catch up with all your news properly next week and will post more regularly again from now on.

Funny I was thinking of wilber too....was looking for reassurance that one can move without going mad!!! And then thought, whoo, she hasn't been around for a while, maybe it DOES push you over the edge :)
Sun shining here - party in the park calls!

bigTillyMint · 15/07/2012 11:59

WilburSmile Glad to hear the move went well!

Now we just need Dukes to come back to the fold!

About to go off to DD's gym comp. She is surprisingly up-beat (even though she knows she will probably come last as she is one of the newest in her group) - maybe my rant on Friday night workedConfused

Hope you're having a good party in the park BD.

Oh, and Sarf London is the greatest and the best Smile
