Wimbledon, carciofi - you're very welcome to join in with my session, if you like!

Hopefully · 20/01/2012 10:43

Ivey what are the blochs? Patent or normal leather? If it's soft normal leather or suede, they'll have a bit of give in them. However, IME shoes that have to stretch slightly in order to fit do wear out slightly more quickly than those that fit from the start. Not loads quicker, but I never feel I get quite as much wear from them.

Carciofi, yup, that was me! Most ridiculously rushed wedding planning ever, I was shredding like a mad lady in order to look halfway decent by the wedding day. I'm slimmer than that now, but at least I wasn't a total heifer on the day. And I loved my dress, even if I did only get it a week before!

Just managed to perplex the DHL automated collection thing and had to talk to an operator to pick up my NAP returns. Loving the whole DHL collection thing, makes the whole purchase feel like even more of a treat, even though the only bit of that one that I'm keeping is the Inhabit cashmere and the black box.

Morning all, hooray for a good night's sleep Annie. I woke up feeling very refreshed too and commented to DH on how well the kids had slept - oh no, it would appear he was up twice with DD and once with DS. I must have been knackered. He is now too!

Thanks for the VB pointer Amber. Was hovering over it, but something NYE said about feeling like you're dressing up in clothes has rung true with me and have twigged that anything ruffled/frilly makes me feel matronly and not me. Apart from the MV top of course. That, I could make an exception for Wink.

Am planning my holiday wardrobe early and have a gap for a white t-shirt, possibly with a pocket, cuffed sleeves, slouchy style. I had a fab NL one that I ran down last summer and would like to get a more quality alternative. Anyone seen?

Shame about the Blochs ICC - imagine it'll be a wrench to send them back but nothing worse than uncomfortable flats.

Annoying about the coat Hopefully - worth ringing CS?

Bloss I can't imagine you would ever look porcine, but your description of the school gate mums did make me laugh.

Just had a glance at MrsCB's lavender jeans thread - love the look and can see them benign a nice alternative to white jeans, which didn't do it for me. The likelihood of me finding a pair that will be kind on my calves is slim to none.

Hope DD is ok NY - she really is a brave little thing.

IceCreamCastles · 20/01/2012 10:51

They are patent Sad.

carciofi · 20/01/2012 11:02

I would return them, ICC, sorry. As I said, I ended up getting rid of mine as they were so uncomfortable.

Hopefully, it just goes to show you don't have to spend all year planning a wedding! Your dress is beautiful.

Lots of coffee for Mr Red today!

Amber, I sent you a PM.

I fear that black doesn't really suit me, looking at photos, I look like a nun on her day off in my black tops and jeans. Shock Will just have to buy more scarves.

Maybe they just feel too big because my feet are cold?!

Sorry for self absorbed posts- will catch up with everyone else soon.

Hopefully · 20/01/2012 11:24

Grin at shrinking cold feet.

AmberNectarine · 20/01/2012 11:24

Well obvs red who doesn't have a gap for that in their wardrobe? I have a lovely white T from Vince, no pocket though, but hangs really well! Splendid also great for such items.

annie great to hear you got a rest!

Agree about the Blochs icey I have a patent pair a half size too small gathering dust.

Yes, my other ones are elasticated but were a lucky tk maxx find in a 5.5. Return sorted now. Bye bye pretty boxes!

carciofi · 20/01/2012 12:12

Red, Whistles have some nice seam-back t-shirts or have a look at Wrap. I like your garden print top, btw.

I like this blouse.

Miss Porridge-Flinger is awake. Chat later.

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2012 12:16

Hi have just come back from 2nd interview. Went well I think, nice compliments re my thinking ability.

Wore Sandro navy floral dress, Vanessa Bruno mustard belt, Wolfords and APC boots. Dh was impressed with my look Grin.

I just got some more Hush pjs (in right size this time) and I agree Icey I LOVE the little bag in the same material. Something about it being the same pattern just makes me feel happy.

Need to catch up, waves.

carciofi · 20/01/2012 12:18

Well done, Marsha! Interview outfit sounds fab.

OllieinOrange · 20/01/2012 12:53

Red The Guardian has a video clip on their Fashion pages about wearing coloured jeans and show a lilac pair from Gap which are chino in style (think they were called sexy boyfriend trousers or something). Can't see on the Gap website but look at the video here on the right hand side. Does that style suit you?
Marsha lovely sounding outfit, glad the interview went well.
Hopefully great pics, loved your entire wedding ensemble.

Icey I know you've sent the Blochs back but could being pregnant mean your feet are slightly bigger at the moment?
Annie Funnily enough DS2 is desperate for me to get a job so he can go to the after school club! He gets quite annoyed when I turn up to get him from school.
Emo sounds like you are busy.

No sign of DHL man yet.

Thanks ollie!

Marsha hurrah for good interview and good interview outfit!

Cheapy surprise colour (as in, she was sale hunting, I said get anything brown/olive) Agnes have arrived from my friend in the States, they're a really nice khaki colour. Will try them on a bit when I don't have greasy post-lunch offspring at my feet Smile

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2012 14:19

....Ing from home. I am in park.

Anyone with good tips to get very reluctant 2 year old in new Hunters greatly appreciated Grin

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2012 14:33

Or is two too young?, I can't remember from first time.

Come on Ollie's DHL man/woman!

AmberNectarine · 20/01/2012 16:10

Can't really help you marsha as we got DS his first pair at about 19 months and he loved them! Went to bed wearing them that night!

ollie I am so excited for you, it is such a beautiful dress!

blue2711 · 20/01/2012 16:16

Aargh, just got back to find dreaded DHL card! Oh woe. Now will have to wait until Monday for blochs and navy nobody skinnies. Sorry yours were no good icey, so frustrating. I'm also waiting for a naughty reiss order I placed the other night for this skirt and this faux fur coat. Real wild cards and may both be awful but great prices and free delivery and returns so couldn't resist. I do love a faux fur coat although fear I may be alone in this. I really like cream on me as well, although I again may be getting this very wrong. Roll on a colours day in the spring!

hopefully your photos are lovely and you and your family are gorgeous! Love your dark colouring. Outfit sounds great today. Good for you for ordering the marants. I wish I had a friend who sent me surprise j brands.
ollie thanks for the guardian fashion link, never looked at that site before. I rather liked her green jeans with the red and navy breton.
ny your poor little brave girl! Ouch. Isn't it miserable here today?!
marsha well done on the interview and what a stylish outfit.
bloss liking your use of 'porcine' too. I am very committed to both skinny and super skinny jeans etc but having read the skinny v boot cuts thread on AIBU I've realised that there are lots of people out there thinking I look muttony and carrot-legged!
red I want some great white t shirts too and also grey marl. Where does WIT get hers from?

A good hairdressers appt this morning so my roots have gone and then delicious lunch at a cosy pub with a new-ish mum friend. We normally only see each other with children in tow so it was lovely. She is super stylish and we talked about clothes a lot today! In fact she'd fit in very nicely on this thread...and I know she's on mumsnet... wonder if she ever reads it?!

Off out again now to meet DH for post work drink before we go together to pick up DS; I love Fridays!

Russianred · 20/01/2012 16:41

Revelatory times here - went into Warehouse and tried on some jeans that fitted perfectly and actually looked nice. Had been toying with ordering the C/E leopards but these make a good alternative. Hurrah. Tried on some purple ones too that I really liked that the sales assistant convinced me not to buy by telling me my bum looked weird in them (her words).

Thanks for white tee tips - like the Whistles one so will try tomorrow when I collect my garish top. Think WIT mentions American Apparel a lot, but I don't rate the quality of their stuff - everything I've had falls apart. Blue I have a faux fur jacket that I love and wear loads. Not sure about the fitted nature of the Splendid ones - they would cling to my bezza.

Thanks for the link Ollie - the chino type ones look very similar to Earharts so could work well - didn't see them in Gap today but will keep my eyes out.

Marsha your interview outfit sounds lovely. When will you hear back?
