Hmm- dark blue ones, eh Annie?

VerityBrulee · 09/01/2012 22:53

Lovely Annie something to look forward to Smile

You are such a night owl! you remind me of my mum who stays up til 2 most nights, then up again for work in the morning - I don't know how you do it!

VerityBrulee · 09/01/2012 22:53

Right, caught up - sorry so many people are feeling down for one reason or another, and hope that it is a full moon thing. Lots of very wise words on the thread! Particularly Thanks and [tins of salmon] to MIM, Blue and Icey.

Red, oh gorgeous one - good on you for continuing the driving comeback, sounds like you're going great guns. I can offer a destination about 15 minutes away with coffee, cake and Brio at the end if you fancied?! Didn't see Coppers, but how great to see the results of your work!

Carciofi, I agree with Verity about the babysitter, may be worth having another think about that - ds1 continued going a bit to his childminders throughout my mat leave, which I said was to keep their relationship going and keep his place, but in reality was to keep me sane. Didn't admit to that at the time because I thought everyone would think I was crap - would never have coped with ds2s feeding issues without that though.

And I think I can make the MU - if it stays as the 17th, I'm already in London for work on the 16th, so will probably make a weekend of it. So definitely up for staying over.

Oh, last purchase news - I've bought the new Boots IPL machine in a bid to be hair-free by the summer, not tried it yet but excited!

VerityBrulee · 09/01/2012 23:08

Computer crashed when I tried to find the shoes, maybe it's a sign?!

Mrs B v popular annie, was originally a stage show, has been going for years.

Better go to bed or I'll be sorry in the morning. Hope everyone has a good sleep and life looks better tomorrow xx

Russianred · 09/01/2012 23:10

My name was in the credits! I'd worked on loads of it and was very nice to see the finished product. Will go back and read through the thread now (we're going great guns at the moment!).

Bloss I love Maria Full Of Grace. My sister is a fluent Spanish/French speaker (she got the bilingual gene, I got the calves) and we watch a lot of subtitled films together.

Apuski I may well take you up on that offer. The freedom that driving provides is still amazng me. Ollie it was the third person I asked - 1 was a newish mum who didn't want to leave her baby with this mad woman who can't drive (I was desperate and actually said, 'Oh it's fine, my baby's in the car'), the other was a lady rushing to get to work who gave me a very withering look and the eventual parker was a guy in his early 20s who was clearly thrilled; 'What you need is a little run-around, love'. So pathetic. Haven't told DH for fear of him taking back the keys.

Verity I've looked at the Kristens but have been scared off by the high waist. Will have a try. Saw them today when returning my spotty trousers in some great colours (glad they worked for you Blue - yes to sending a pic to WIT!)

Amber I was hoping you'd say the reds were small as I have found a 27 for a good price. Will go for the 26 though and a 27 if I go for the cobalts (am sure I will give in eventually).

Ollie your DH's response made me lol.

rufus101 · 09/01/2012 23:33

Hi all. Bit late, so just a quick hello from me. Was only just keeping up with the last thread. Dauphin your Christmas sounded particularly idyllie and was very Envy of NY's London trip.

Sorry everyone is feeling low. Did you know that today is the unhappiest day of the year? The 2nd Monday in January? Apparently, as it hits you, that you are back at work, most New Year resolutions have been broken (guilty), and the CC bills from Christmas start to arrive! So big hugs all around, but you'll all feel better by the end of the week, and thats a promise!
Carciofi don't go. Stay and moan, we will cheer you up. Or come home for a weekend, and I'll ply you with lots of Wine

I am so sorry that I didn't buy this cream Baystan coat in the sales. I visited it twice and the third time I went in, it was gone. I am inconsolable. I broke my rule of "if complete strangers approach you to tell you it looks nice- BIN" (BUY IT NOW!)
If anyone sees it in an 8 on their travels, let me know.
I am thinking of this DVF as an outfit to wear to my DDs FHC. Free shiping till the 16th if anyone is interested.
Anyway just marking my place, didn't want to fall off the face of the earth.
Must try the no dairy lark. (er no, I've just realised how much meals I would not be able to eat)

Hello all
Back to catch up on the other thread -back at work now and so have childcare and more time to mumsnet catch up on work. Have also been feeling a bit flat as the novelty factor of being here has waned slightly, have not been able to find any clothes I like (despite having Xmas money to spend!) and adjusting to new nanny and life. Sigh. But back at 'em and I'll check out all your news.

But if you have namechanged can you PM me or just give me a clue as I'm confused. I thought I knew who Russian was for example but am now doubting self.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 08:56

Good to hear from you Roary - hope you find your shopping mojo soon!

Great that you can make the MU Roary.

Hi Rufus.

And thank you for the poetry last night - great to see new people on the thread.

I have been like a woman possessed about the caoted indigo jeans since I re-packaged the Whistles one for return last night. I have ordered jeans&pageSize=20 these from Dotty Ps that I am now convinced will not fit the bill as I am not even sure that I like the photo Blush. (Why did you order them NY, I hear you ask....?!) Worse case scenario I will have wasted £4 so not the end of the world - especially as the Whistles ones were free delivery so nothing lost there. There are lots of coated jeans out there, but v few dark blue. Have just been looking on ebay and there are quite a few nice ones on there, but none in the right colour/size. I am tempted by some black All Saints ones though, so may take the plunge.

Annie - I have decided to hold off the blue heels unless I managed to get some indigo coated jeans....and then I might get some to wear with them! I had a look on the M and S site and saw the ones I think you mean. I am slightly wary as I have bought a pair of nude in that style that I haven't worn at all yet, so don't want to go on collecting bargain heels that just gather dust. That said, I think the nude ones were always more likely to get some outings in the spring/summer than the the winter.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 09:01

Updated MU list (I think?):

Red
Bloss
Pickled
NY
Marsha
Ants
Ollie
Everything
Fritzi
Amber
Emo
Apuski

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2012 09:14

Morning! Am feeling loads better and generally positive. Thanks everyone, you helped Smile

Verity lovely idea. Actually my interview is one hour earlier so there is a chance I can pick him up and take him for cake / croissant.

Anniemac yes if I get it! I have nothing. Luckily it is quite a relaxed place, until there's a client thing or something.

Ds1 back at school today. It was so nice to go there again, the holidays felt like they lasted for ages. Not in a bad way, probably because we did so much stuff.

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2012 09:27

Apuski great you can make the MU,

Hi Roary!

Rufus that is really lovely. Did you get the Sandro blue / grey one in the end?

Isn't it mild! I saw some early blossom on some trees round the corner on the weekend. Very pretty.

Oh definitely. I don't need much of an excuse Grin.

Hopefully I think lots of people love and wear Ash boots on here.

Hopefully · 10/01/2012 10:17

It is ridiculously mild here! Was rushing to get DS1 to nursery, forgot my coat and didn't even notice.

Am v pleased with my ASOS Aggies - surprisingly comfortable for cheapie boots. Have decided I really like ankle boots on me. My mother is adamant I look awful in knee or ankle boots (only calf boots are ok), but I have finally decided that this is not always the case Smile. Have to be careful not to shorten my short legs further though.

Am trying to resist shopping too much before going for House of Colour style day on Sun. It is not going well Blush (I'm friends with NYE, there was no way I was going to avoid the HoC bug!)

Hopefully · 10/01/2012 10:34

Marsha I think I love you - have just found the perfect pair of boots on the ash site, and available in my size! Will link when I'm home and have ordered. Hope they're as nice as they look in the pic!

AmberNectarine · 10/01/2012 10:45

Wendy has those Aggies!

rufus101 · 10/01/2012 10:57

Good luck with interview Marsha. Try not to feel bad about DS. At least you haven't shouted at him as I did with DD this morning when she was literally hysterically crying as she couldn't find her school sweater, and that we were up slightly later, and therefore she feared being late. I really lost it with her. Apologised after, and she tearfully said "i forgive you". Feel. Very. Very. Bad. Mother. Will have to ring DH to get perspective.
Didn't get the blue and grey Sandro , it was sold out in my size. Got another lovely blue Sandro, but its not on the site.

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2012 10:57

Ooh are they!! I haven't ordered them yet. I wanted to get Tory Burch eddie flats (soft) or Lanvin.

I am tempted now. Can you tell me how low down the foot the front bit is? I have this horrible wide foot that absolutely cannot take those very petite ballet pumps that are very low cut (does that make sense?).
