Best I could come up with......

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2012 20:31

Ah, I see, NYE. I'm probably going to go it alone as I need speed due to baby limitations. Consultant thinks it may be tricky with DD there and TBH she is probably right, she is a lively baby! I'm pretty trusting, so don't think I'll need much persuasion. Out of interest, is a sallow skin tone normally a winter?

Russianred · 16/01/2012 20:32

Ooh they're nice Bloss - I like the ankle thing as it means they fit me!

Make your own trench Hopefully?! Do you take commissions? Wink

Thought you might like those, bloss!

hopefully no, it really doesn't stick out, just curves into the waist. I am a huge fan of mine. Wanted a roxy but length was wrong on me, this one is perfect.

red glad you survived the shred!

blossoming · 16/01/2012 20:36

Someone drag me off the sofa and deliver me to Jillian.

blossoming · 16/01/2012 20:37

Oh, before I go, £142 for the Paige jeans with taxes added amber.
We might have to draw lots red!

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2012 20:38

TBH, I'd like to be winter, it would involve least change with my current wardrobe, but I'm open minded. Not sure I could give up black though!

Hopefully · 16/01/2012 20:46

Amber can I be a compete PITA and ask you to measure the length of your jacket? What size are you? I'm wondering if it would be a good length on me, but if there's any chance and it's good quality, it seems a shame to miss the opportunity!

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2012 20:51

hopefully it is 20 inches down the back seam. I wear a 10 on top usually and have a Small, which is a little snug over my 34e bf boobs, but fits elsewhere. HTH!

Hopefully · 16/01/2012 21:10

Thank you lovely Amber!

Don't know if anyone is watching Coppers again, but it's pretty juicy tonight. Eyes peeled for my name!

notyummy · 16/01/2012 22:17

Am watching Coppers!!

AntPants1 · 16/01/2012 22:28

Hello all. Thanks so much for your get well messages. Have been back to the Drs and have new super strength anti biotics so hopefully will be able to sit still and stop mad jiggling as I am so uncomfortable!!

I cannot possibly keep up with thread but.. amber and emo gorgeous photos. Emo I had no idea your hair was so long. Love it! Also happy birthday to your DD.

red love the Reiss dress. Am eying it up myself!

I vote for booking a table. Given the price of drinks (though we did stick to champagne last time...) I think we can guarantee £25 each. Am with ollie I am at a stage in my life where I like to be able to sit down and chat not holler at people across the dance floor....

Sympathies with non sleeping babies. DS is still pretty crap. Oh and annie am in awe of your work ethic. You are superwoman!!!

Ok am off to investigate downstairs. Lights keep flicker on and off aka a disco theme and dishwasher keeps pinging on and off. Not a food sign I think....

roary · 17/01/2012 05:42

Time for my too-infrequent hello from Australia. I've just discovered ASOS ships to Australia (yay) but will not be spending any money because....

we bought a house (in December) and were due to settle in March, which was requiring considerable arranging of temporary rentals as we have to move out of our current place soon. But the sellers have just contacted us to see if we want to settle early....it is SO tempting to get in early but we would have had a month with no mortgage and no rent, and our house money growing interest in the bank. So probably quite a lot of money in the end....but moving in would be SO good and the house is lovely and kids have been to 3 different houses already since the end of Nov and DD could start school from the new house...

I go away for a week and there is a discussion of MUs in Caves??

hope the sleeping babies improves. Ants, have you tried cranberry capsules and buckets of water?

Hopefully · 17/01/2012 07:45

Roary how exciting about the house! It must be so hard weighing being financially sensible v getting in the house and settling. I think if staying out of it means moving again, I'd go in earlier, but if not then the extra bit of cash could be nice for buying things for yourself your new home. Unless you are insanely rich, in which case you may as well just move in. I wouldn't like to presume about your finances Grin

Poor you Ants. I hope the mega-antibiotics are already kicking in!

Not looking forward to my mother ruining my shopping treats by criticising the influx of parcels/choice of clothes today/tomorrow. Never mind the fact that she criticises me for dressing in skanky old clothes, she won't be able to get over the indulgence of buying lots of clothes at once! Let's hope she take the baby for a walk at the right times today and misses the DHL/post man Wink

MidnightinMoscow · 17/01/2012 08:04

Morning.

Lovely to hear from you roary, I am sure you are experiencing wonderful weather at the moment. I'd say get settled in the house as soon as you can, although understand that missing out on a rent free month would have been good timing.

Ants glad you got to the Dr's. May I suggest you drink some Actimel drinks at the moment? You have had two different AB's in a short space of time and have been under the weather. Would hate for you to get a upset stomach to add to it all.

I had the biggest stroke of luck yesterday. A lovely friend called last night to say that her plans were cancelled for tomorrow, and did I still need a babysitter....panic over!

I am in a clothes drought, looking forward to more spring/summer in the shops soon, so I can possibly get a few things to look forward to wearing.

What's on everyone's SS wish list's this year?

IceCreamCastles · 17/01/2012 08:18

So Shock at the minimum spend for the 'cave'. We did were v lucky last time then weren't we!

Amber- I had a speed consultation with a colour me beautiful consultant- about 2 hours so it can be done. I'd like to have a house of colour one done though as still not sure how my colours (warm and soft) apparently fit in with the season ones which seem to be more widely used.

Good to see you roary- tricky house situation. I'd be tempted to move in ASAP but that's probably not the wisest option. Not too long until march I guess.

Dd slept all night in her own bed last night- hooray! I rewarded her with a chocolate button this morning in the hope of a repeat performance tonight Blush

OllieinOrange · 17/01/2012 08:25

Hopefully last time I looked, Zara had lots of coated skinnies?
Roary thats a tough one. Saving money is always good but so is feeling finally settled. Guess it comes down to how much you like packing/unpacking?!
Ants hope you are starting to feel better by now.

Bloss yes I have popped my NAP cherry and awaiting my first ever black box! Couldn't bring myself to pay 25 euros for P&P so opted for the slower, cheaper delivery. Had dispatch notice tho so any day now.

Was looking back over my swatches and the stand out colour on me was raspberry but don't own anything in it! Finding it hard to find things in the right shade - either too pink or too burgundy. My consultant was an independant and when I compared my swatches with my Mums (HoC - also a summer) there were quite a few differences which bothers me slightly.

Home based day today working on my CV and house-related pottering.

Hi all.

I am also Shock at £1500 min spend for the alcove. TBH, I wouldn't mind booking a table if it is 'only' £250 deposit, as that is £16/17 each, which we will definitely be spending given that 3 drinks will cost that in any London bar (even soft ones.) Given that there will be 14/15 of us, finding a space without booking may be a challenge. I guess the alternative is getting there early to grab a table upstairs and perhaps have something to eat there, rather than elsewhere, before attempting to go downstairs to bag a 'cave'. The food isn't cheap, but they have stuff starting at about £8 (sandwich) upwards.

The only problem (not that it is a show stopper) with the pre-theatre menu idea I think is that we would have to get taxis to get from restaurant to bar, so some of the cash you might save will be spent on that.

roary - great to hear from you.

Ants - fingers crossed that those ABs kick in soon.

Hopefully - hope your mum doesn't rain on your parade too much. It does sound like you can't win though!

I nipped into Zara yesterday to pick up the two tops I had ordered. The gold one was a big disappointment. Very itchy, and far too much material around the waist. I returned it but kept
this tee which was lovely on, and will be good for layering, or the evening. Perhaps summer too, with shorts. I also got a fairly short stretchy black skirt that I can't find online to link to, and a blue/grey tee short that is also not on the site. Will look very nice with jeans I think.

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2012 09:18

Morning all

Flipping heck, it is freezing. Wearing cobalt 811s, grey Gap sweatshirt, grey Supergas and a grey, black and cream feather print scarf. Have topped off with black Zara down coat, due to weather conditions!

roary sounds like an early move will be a good thing, if expensive! Will you go for it?

MiM so glad it's all worked out, I find these things usually do, though maybe I've just been lucky!

Off to Kingston today as need to go to the Lakeland shop, the glamour! May do a bit of browsing while I'm there. Just browsing mind.

Need to shove a load of stuff on eBay tonight too, so tedious, but I do like a shopping fund!

Russianred · 17/01/2012 09:53

Morning all, it is painfully cold here this morning - am in leggings, UGGs and a big jumper as not leaving the house for a while. Both DC are having a nap and I'm catching up on the last of my work for Coppers, which is as dull as anything.

Icey how exciting that the kitchen is half-done! We've also caved on the tumble drier front and are off to choose one this evening. That and a dishwasher (have never had one before) are going to change my life.

Roary how exciting that you are going to be there soon. From my experience, I would get in there, get unpacked and start settling. Some things you can't put a price on, I think.

NY makes a very good point about the early bird vs taxi - it would probably be better to be nearby and be able to walk to the bar. Can foresee my weekend budget spiralling out of control!

Can't wait to hear about the HL Ollie. I think we'll need photos!

How great that your friend can step in MiM - you must feel much happier about leaving DS with her.

OllieinOrange · 17/01/2012 10:10

Just received conformation of the date for my wisdom teeth op (both on the same side). Not til Feb but dreading it already.
On the bright side, not being able to eat properly for a few days may help me reach my target HL dress weight?!

Icey and Red I love my tumble dryer! I justify its use versus environmental impact by doing double loads if possible Smile.

MiM what a lovely friend.
