bloss x-post. Yes, I'm coming!

MarshaBrady · 16/01/2012 17:31

More info.

We need to pay the deposit of £250 when we make the reservation (give card details now, they take it the day before the event, so the 16th). We can't just wait until the night.

The other thing is the alcove is a minimum spend of £1500 Shock. It's a 'VIP area'. Who knew Pickled's candle singed hair could command such prices? Grin

We can see if we get really lucky again on the night like we did last time.

OllieinOrange · 16/01/2012 17:32

Re MU - Thanks for phoning Marsha I would have a preference to at least reserve the cave table downstairs if possible - I loved how were were able to chat across from each other - quite intimate, music wasn't too loud, coats and bags were safe in the corner bit, comfy cushions (important for us 40 year olds!) but still good for people watching etc. If we didn't bother with a table upstairs, would it would mean we wouldn't have to rush to get there early? Obviously happy to go with the majority tho but just thought I would give my twopence worth! Whats does everyone else think? I just remember the lovely champagne flowing all evening!

Bloss they do food there but iir its more mezze style platters. We got some nibbles and thats when Pickleds hair caught fire....
Fritzi F&B and Muji? Im coming to visit!
Issimma Kew skinnies are fairly long - well on me anyway (5ft6 but not particuarly long legs). Im going to get mine shortened for the summer to wear with ballet pumps.

Just made a fish pie (well prawns and salmon pie). Am really trying hard to prepare DH and I's dinner before he gets home so we can eat around 8pm as got into the habit of cooking and eating late and dont think it helps my weight loss campaign. This way I can shred whilst its cooking.

Bloody Hell Marsha Thats eye wateringly exxxxy!!!! Better to find out now tho! Did you get a cave table at the last mini MU and if so, what time did you get there? (Im sounding obessive aren't i?!)

OllieinOrange · 16/01/2012 17:35

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 16/01/2012 17:38

Should point out that I x'ed posts with Marsha. I didnt think, yes lets stump up 1,500 for a table!
Going now.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 16/01/2012 17:38

Haha making me chuckle.

We just had a little table at last mini mu as five fit easily. I can't recall if anyone was in the cave.

I am fine to turn up early, as long as someone else does, the only problem is if it is booked before hand... It isn't yet, but still a while away.

Gee we were lucky!

OllieinOrange · 16/01/2012 17:39

Does anyone else wish the MU was this WE? I could do with a W&A style pick me up.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 16/01/2012 17:41

Imagine the damage we could do if we were all in the same city (to our debit cards too).

blossoming · 16/01/2012 18:16

Absolutely marsha, and dh would be asking for divorce!
So is the cave the same as the alcove which cost 1500?

I would love to see some photos too fritzi. Love it when style/outfits come together.

blossoming · 16/01/2012 18:18

Has your dress been despatched ollie? Is it your first NaP purchase?

MarshaBrady · 16/01/2012 18:28

yy cave is the alcove (£1500). But we got lucky last time, and got it anyway.

Bloss you sound so hardcore on your dieting! I am, ermm... cutting out cake. Mind you, given that cake makes up about 40% of my daily calories normally, that's a pretty big cut for me! Am getting quite into Level 3 of Shred too. Annoyingly my weight is staying very static, but am blaming that on AF/muscles growing/heavy clothes/anything but the fact that the cake abstinence isn't having an effect.

Wow, Red, thanks for the link! Will try blood orange skinnies and order them from Shopbop if they're nice. I thought that their shipping was international (and therefore slow and expensive), but see that it's 3 days for worldwide, which is pretty good.

My mother has just arrived for a few days, putting a temporary halt to my online shopping (as she is so rude about everything she sees me looking at, and I can't be bothered), but the five couple of online orders I have arriving this week should be enough to hopefully end up with one or two decent items by the end of the week.

Am trying to find some cheapish coated skinnies (sadly the H&M ones are only in black, boo) to have a go with, but nothing is jumping out at me. Anyone else had any joy? Have found some rather nice chocolate ones (am too scared to link as there is only one pair left in stock), but they are £150, which is about £75 more than my ideal maximum for something that I probably won't wear day in day out.

blossoming · 16/01/2012 19:33

Shopbop is great hopefully provided you know your size. Good idea to try them on in UK first. My stuff arrived in 2 days and I paid taxes st checkout.

loobylu3 · 16/01/2012 19:37

amber- you look gorgeous! DD too- so sweet.

NYE- love the teal DVF dress you linked to.

hopefullyhow exciting about your developing wardrobe and hilarious re the bank! At least they are on the ball, eh?
I have the BR trench too. The Burberry is gorgeous- maybe in another lifetime! Love the j brands in the orange too. Who was it that linked to the darker orange shade the other day? Those were gorgeous too.

bloss- I really admire your self discipline with regards the dieting!

NY- you make me feel a bit better. I admire your discipline with the exercise, especially the cold weather runs!

fritzi- hooray for Farrow and Ball!

red- Reiss dress looks lovely. The VB didn't jump out to me.

Hi to issima. The satchel doesn't look like v soft leather. I was looking at the bags here which are on sale- might be worth a try. Oushka also reasonable priced. Somebody linked to [http://www.prettyandwitty.co.uk/shop/shoulder-bags.html this company]] on another thread.

Must go- I hear screams from upstairs!

Agnes fans, what do we think of these? I like.

To anyone after a brown leather jacket I must recommend the brown version of my beloved biker as it is on sale in brown here, it really is buttery soft!

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2012 20:04

Hmmm, the HoC consultant I am speaking to reckons she can do it in 2 hours! She has won an award 4 years running though so maybe she is super great? Confused

FritziGreenEyes · 16/01/2012 20:10

ollie Shredding while cooking, I'm impressed Grin

blossoming · 16/01/2012 20:10

They're lovely amber, the colour too. Would work with grey Wink. I used to love Paige.

MarshaBrady · 16/01/2012 20:17

If we do minimum spend is everyone happy to put in £25 for the deposit before the night?

Seems like a big faff to me. But will go with what people want to do.

yes to Shopbop being fast but check the size. I am going to get some ballet flats, but first am doing a recce at Matches to make sure of the size.

I think it cost me over £20 to try on the Kors ones and send them back.

I'm happy to do that marsha.

What colour sandals did you get carciofi?

Thanks to amber, I really quite fancy these. Wish the 'ankle' length fad would end though. It's fine in winter when they're tucked into boots, and I like the agnes being short, but with ballet flats I prefer long and ruched.

Hopefully · 16/01/2012 20:28

Amber I reckon if you did one on one and got straight to the point without all the preamble/make up bits/discussion of the style day, you could definitely do it in 2 hours.

Ooh, I've been vaguely contemplating the oasis biker, but wondered if the peplum thing was a bit weird. Does it stick out at the bottom?

NYE I'm with you on wanting something other than beige. I'm just debating a trip to London for some coated cotton to make my own trench.

Russianred · 16/01/2012 20:30

Have just shredded again, no vomiting this time, so a marked improvement.

That is a lovely jacket Amber like the colour of the Paige jeggings.

I agree with you NYE - there are certain days when I'd be embarrassed to be seen by some of you as an entire outfit screams A&W. In fact Bloss - what will we do about the Roxy/5050 crossover at the MU?! I imagine there'll be more than a few crossover pieces across the group actually.

Fritzi I'm so excited - DH, DCs, my two sisters and I will be sharing the apartment, which should be fun. Will be utilising the babysitting on tap once more. You are right about waiting a few weeks, but I do very much like that dress..!

A minimum spend of £1500?!!!! Um, count me out of the cave if that is the case. Think it'll have to be the table and fingers crossed the cave is free again - at the mini MU there was one lady and a child in there for most of the evening, IIRC.
