Best I could come up with......

OP posts:
blossoming · 10/01/2012 21:03

Popping in rudely to share amazing dress to wear with roxy. Be still my beating heart etc etc...

Russianred · 10/01/2012 21:07

Yes Hopefully I've drawn a blank as well, particularly as I'm trying to go for something a bit obscure, but that will still raise a laugh. Hhhhmm. Excellent to hear that your business is taking off.

Bloss that dress has your name written all over it. All. Over. It.

Carciofi it is so annoying when that happens. Really winds me up. Very annoyed that the blue aren't in my size on ShopBop. Shall trawl Ebay once more.

MrsCB we've not been yet - did you have a good time? Worth doing? We really should meet, you know - even if for a coffee in Cribbs one afternoon.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 21:25

Lovely dress Bloss- can see you in it!

Busy on here tonight.

Am having a think about obscure characters for fancy dress...

rufus101 · 10/01/2012 21:51

Bloss that dress would be perfect on you with your toned arms and legs. Pure perfection.what do you think of the colours of this one? I am thinking of DD's First Holy Communion, so need conservative.
Bet NY will come up with something good for the fancy dress!
Carciofi am Grin at your dad. It was still child care though! And you see? Your mum had to go back to Howth. That's what I mean. Nobody ever seems to leave here. Or they leave briefly, to return.

Dauphin · 10/01/2012 21:57

Evening...well, my beloved (DH, that is), is back from his trip, and can confirm he has Man Flu. In bed. Sniffed at my Chorizo and Cannellini casserole, and turned down a rather nice glass of red....poor thing.

Hope everyone else is feeling better...
Carciofi - glad you're feeling better.

Bloss- poor DD. Should imagine the richness of the mincemeat could be a culprit...hope she's better.
Red - Bless your DH.

I was fascinated by Coppers. Fab that you were involved. How interesting!Don't worry about the car thing. We all have moments like that. I once failed to apply the Park brake correctly and screamed hysterically as my car traversed the street (with a six month old baby in it), only to have two lovely strapping young guys rush to my aid and halt the car before it crashed into another....they were wonderful.

Oh God, I love reminiscing about the 80's....They had a fab 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' with Juliette Lewis recently...wall to wall with it...v funny, slightly tragic...! Was Dynasty ever a feature film? Huh? Could go as Alexis Carrington, maybe?

Mrscb- funny...Mrs B says the same about you.
Shame about the streakiness of the skinnies...can you take them back? I have the Gap ones...but am really hankering after leather. Hmmm....

blossoming · 10/01/2012 21:58

Those colours would be wrong on me rufus! That's not what you wanted to hear was it?
this is nice. If money was no object.
I've been browsing dresses all night. Getting cross eyed with it all and confusing myself.

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2012 22:01

Bloss that link isn't working here. But the first one was great for you.

Dauphin · 10/01/2012 22:02

Oh minor character...def not Alexis then?!
I can't remember half the films of that decade...I must have seen some...

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:04

Thanks dauphin, dd was okay today. We are banning rich food. Well, tbh, it is all finished. I have managed my target of not having any sugar for a whole day. Tried last week, but just couldn't let the cake go to waste (so it went to waist Grin).
Still on the porridge. What an exciting life I lead!
Impressed with red and carciofi for having seen 'Maria full of grace'. It will fit the bill nicely with my A level students ie no magic realism mumbo jumbo, nudity or sex. Quite unusual in my experience of A level texts/film. Drugs and swearing will do nicely.
Will never forget the time we were watching Like Water for Chocolate in my last school. Came to the sex scene at the end, knock on the door, the deputy head comes in, with a year 7 parent. Frantically signing to one of the pupils to turn it off, pupil presses Pause instead...
Still traumatised.

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:05

rag and bone dress marsha

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:06

Sorry, not working, don't know why.

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:08

rag and bone dress

MarshaBrady · 10/01/2012 22:10

Got it Grin

Yes that's nice too.

Russianred · 10/01/2012 22:15

Would Amores Perros work Bloss? Can't remember if it had any gratuitous sex scenes in or not.

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:15

Someone from Back to the Future red?
I love J brand, but seriously wtf?

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:15

Girlfriend in the Karate Kid. (Stone washed cropped denim jacket, high ponytail.)

Jamie Lee Curtis in Changing Places. Not that obscure, but I love that film and she rocks some great outfits!

Meg Ryan plays the wife of the navigator who dies in Top Gun (Goose.) Quite obscure??

Molly Ringwald in either Pretty in Pink or The Breakfast Club.

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:16

It's not on the syllabus red. I bought 'El Bola' to watch next. Have no idea what it's like but it's supposed to be 'gritty'.

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:19

Quite like the colour of these mavericks

blossoming · 10/01/2012 22:22

Coloured 811s £82.71 here.
Right, I'm off. Enough time wasting tonight to last me a week!

Russianred · 10/01/2012 22:25

Molly Ringwald my go to initially, but fear she is too central in both films. Am toying with the cougar who seduces Robbie in Dirty Dancing. Think I could have some fun with that one. They need to be both obscure but instantly recognisable. Tricky. Mrs Schumacher would have been perfect.

El Bola looks quite good Bloss.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:26

Jenifer Beals in Flashdance.

Any Ally Sheedy role- you def pull her look off.

I asked DH and he suggested Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie.

Or, google Ornella Muti. She played Princess Aura in Flash Gordon. You could def rock her look in that film Wink.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:27

Your DH isn't playing by the rules though Red. Iceman is NOT obscure!
