This is your new year's resolution:

  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)
  3. Use teeth whitener
  4. Use anti-aging face cream
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands)
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
  9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) 11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends 12. Take vitamins every day 13. Body brushing 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week. 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. 16. Regular hair removal 17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps 18. No more fizzy drinks 19. DAILY body moisturising 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.

All the hard work has been done for you. This list was carefully crafted in the course of 2 previous threads and hundreds of posts by women determined to make the most of what they've got.
All you need to do is stick to it & by the time we emerge from winter, you will be glowing & energetic. 100% guaranteed or your money back. Tiaras and princes not included.

I'm in ( maybe next week ) x

talkingnonsense · 04/01/2012 22:10

I've gone off hot water and lemon in the morning as my teeth got super sensitive- does anyone have a good alternative? I feel guilty starting the day with tea.

Evizza · 04/01/2012 22:14

I have a glass of pure orange. I know the calories are high, but its full of vits and counts towards 1 of my 5 a day. Hot water and lemon makes me feel sick lol

twooter · 04/01/2012 22:16

Ok, I'm in too.

talkingnonsense · 04/01/2012 22:17

I like orange and grapefruit in the summer but a hot drink is nice at this time of year. Do you think green tea would be ok?

Evizza · 04/01/2012 22:21

Green tea is meant to be really good for you, so providing you don't put 10 sugars in that would be a great alternative Grin

frumperina · 04/01/2012 22:45

Right, I could do with some sprucing up, I'm in.

HoneyandHaycorns · 04/01/2012 22:50

Ooh, this is new to me, but I'm in!

putyourhatonsweetie · 04/01/2012 23:21

I'm in.... though also one with hair too fine for hair oil.

I also need to add - don't even think about leaving the house without suncream. I am in queensland and am brilliant at smothering the kids... but I'm going to be a handbag by 35 if I don't buck up. Oh and getting my eyebrows dyed and shaped is like a mini facelift I must make the effort to have it done more regularly.

Littlepumpkinpie · 05/01/2012 00:14

I am still keeping it up from the last time :) Just ordered some Argan Oil for my hair because thats one of the things I did not do on the last thread. Also been using Rapid lash now for 4 days too.
How weird that I only just ordered my hair stuff then came on here and saw a new thread had started. Must be a good Omen because I also brought 3 lemons when I finished work tonight at 10.30pm.

BlackSwan · 05/01/2012 07:06

Absolutely think green tea is a fine alternative to lemon & water. I might do that instead this time too.

putyourhaton - completely agree with the sunscreen thing, I'm in London and still wear sunscreen summer and winter. Tend to wear one which works under makeup. Two of the best I have found are the Shu Uemura under base mousse (30+) and the, ahem, Creme De La Mer SPF 30 Protecting Fluid. Would love to know what others are using.

Blackswan For my body I grab whatever is around - so often the kids coloured stuff. I am SO cool. But for my face I have the stila tinted moisturiser - its available in factor 15, 20 and 30 and you can get for a steal at cheapsmells.co.uk. I got loads of the factor 30 before moving down under. Have burned just about every bit of me at some point over the last few months but my face is always fine. It goes on rather thick but works for me.

talkingnonsense · 05/01/2012 09:11

Right, I'll buy some green tea today. Have eaten a banana and an orange.
Does anyone else get ingrown g hairs after threading/ waxing? I have scars from some and have stopped getting mine done. Is it worth going somewhere more expensive, or is it just me?

flipflopflap · 05/01/2012 09:50

I'm in, didn't do too badly last time and then Christmas and a variety of bugs came and the weight has gone back on, I'm looking a bit less groomed again too. So disappointed as well.

I'm away this weekend with DH though and he's taking me to some lovely looking restaurants, so Monday is my starting point. I'm also changing mine slightly as I have skin issues. If anyone has recommendations for an eye cream that someone with very very sensitive skin can use I'd be mightily grateful Grin

BlackSwan · 05/01/2012 10:36

talkingnonsense - I've heard dermatologists say don't wax as it's the worst for ingrown hairs & scarring skin. I'm sure it's not just you.

thanks putyourhaton, I'll take a look at the stila one. For my body I use just about anything too, but my face is sensitive to thick sunscreen which makes me break out. I also think cleansing/toning really well when you use sunscreen on your face is essential or the residue can give you blemishes. Clarisonic is great for that.

As an aside... I lost a whitening tray in the midst of the last thread, after having it replaced at the dentist it bizarrely turned up in the washing machine yesterday! I'm telling you it's an OMEN.

I have done this selectively in the past so there are some things on the list that I need more info on please:-

  1. water - done and sorted (weekends need a bit more working on though)
  2. exfoliate - is this once a week?
  3. teeth - does whitening tooth paste count or do I need to go hardcore?
  4. face cream - I've never found one that I think is any good, Desperatly need some recommendations - i don't like anything too thick and gloopy!
  5. sorted
  6. Again I need a recommendation for an eye cream - I have terrible tear troughs so no eye cream is going to get rid of those. i am taking water retention tablets to try and minimise them though.
  7. currently exercising like a demon, must keep it up
  8. sorted
  9. fruit for breakfast
10. occasionally use the oil as I too have very fine and greesy hair 11. trying to keep weekend drinking to a minimum 12. what vitiamins should I be taking? I have NO idea! 13. doesn't body brushing count as exfoliating? 14. I HATE salmon!!!! What other fish is a fatty fish? I'm not really a fish lover! 15. will try! 16. will try! 17. hmmm will have to ponder that one! 18. diet fizzy drink is usually my treat when I'm on a diet - and vodka diet coke is less cals / points than wine so I'll be switching to that is I don drink at weekends I think. 19. I hate moisturising my body - I feel all sticky and horrible afterwards. Any ideas on a very light moisutiser that will stop this - plus when do you guys have the time to fit it in? I'll never have time in the morning to let it sink in before getting dressed! 20. I don't think I'll have time for this - what is the benefit anyway?
MissFoodie · 05/01/2012 10:56

agree with everything on the list except teeth whitening!
also, fruit juice should be freshly squeezed never out of a bottle/carton, even if it does say "not from concentrate"
I am currently juicing every morning and taking good quality essential fatty acids

MissFoodie · 05/01/2012 10:56

also, no need to take vitamins if you are eating 5 a day!

putyourhatonsweetie · 05/01/2012 12:23

ah so maybe its the suncream...I have more spots at the moment than i had in my teens and yet my lifestyle is so healthy.....slaps (spotty) forehead. off to find a decent cleanser from the back of one of my bathroon drawers

lillybloom · 05/01/2012 15:14

I'm in. I lurked on the last thread but never had the courage to join in. This year is going to be different Grin I'm determind to make the most of myself and stop finding excuses.

Vicky08 · 05/01/2012 17:43

I'm in too. Have already started some of the things, I'll start the others at the weekend.
