Oh great thread!
I need this too.

I'm going to go shopping in Boots today and buy some of that GoSmile stuff. I need to go to the dentist/hygenist for a good cleaning so this has prompted me to do that.

I think its a good idea to take multi vits even if you have a healthy diet as a lot of women can be low in iron and quite a lot of the population can be low in vitamin d which may contribute to low moods and SAD.

I use hair oil before I wash it (let it soak in for an hr or so) so I think its ok to use on fine hair too.

For those of us who are getting a bit older and worrying about ageing, has anyone tried facial exercises? I know someone whose young looking mother who swears by them so I bought a book by Eva Fraser which they recommended.

virgil · 15/01/2012 17:13

I've bought the facercise book and am starting tonight!

AdditionMultiplication · 15/01/2012 23:07

Am I too late to join? I love your list but am crap at keeping up with chat/ personal on big threads ad I can't get in everyday and then it just gets too huge to reply to! Have just had my hair cut for the first time in about a year :o Blush and am usually too scared to venture into s & b, but thought I would be brave!

racingheart · 15/01/2012 23:36

Getting there. Did 10 out of 20 of them today, which is better than the usual 3 or so.

therumoursaretrue · 16/01/2012 00:37

Just spotted this thread and will def be joining in! Already stick to quite a few of these but definitely feel like I'd feel/look better if I spent a bit more me time.

Currently pg though so intensive exercise is a no but I do/will be swimming, doing yoga and walking.

mamasin · 16/01/2012 08:46

So glad this is running so well. Did 5 mile walk yesterday at a good pace, thighs hurt in a good way Grin . Can anyone recommend a good body exfoliator? I had one from the Sanctuary that seemed good, what about the exfoliating mitts from Boots?

Hi there ladies princes sing is going very well although I am finding it very hard to give up the chocolate.

I had ordered the facial exercise book so I will be adding that to my routine too when it comes x

eternalprocrastinator · 16/01/2012 20:51

Wow! You ladies must have some serious willpower. Can I join you in the hope that some of it will rub off on me? I could really do with some motivation to lose the spare tyre and generally look a bit less slummy mummy all the time.

What's the Shred? A few of you seem to be doing it.

  1. Eyelash growth serum. Have heard about this before and would love to use some? what are you using?
  1. Give up one naughty favourite item. Hmmm what to choose....I want to say chocolate but I won't last one day. I think I can just about cope without Baileys though it will be tough but as it is responsible for my 6lb weight gain over Xmas it has to go.
lillybloom · 16/01/2012 21:03
  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day - still finding this difficult but getting better.
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)- weekly
  3. Use teeth whitener -I did this 6 months ago but could do with a touch up.
  4. Use anti-aging face cream- bought some proper night cream to try
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands) need this - I tried Scholl intensive scrub and cream last night. Would recommend
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream- started today
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise - does a 20 min walk every morning count?
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day- kiwi in the morning and an apple at lunch
  9. Healthy breakfast daily- porridge
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) my hairdresser is selling this but I have still to do this. 11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends- broke this at the weekend 12. Take vitamins every day have them - no problems as I do this already 13. Body brushing- is this before a shower? 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week- already do this as I'm a big fish fan 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM -Tuesday is my day. 16. Regular hair removal- waxing queen 17. Give up one naughty favourite item -chocolate is GONE 18. No more fizzy drinks- they are banned in my house 19. DAILY body moisturising- my lovely dh bought me some chanel body lotion for this one 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m. - would green tea and lemon count?
BlackSwan · 16/01/2012 21:28

Had a haircut yesterday...so uplifting to have the hairdresser tell me that my cut was 'all wrong' in the front. I got out alive.

Feeling the princesses over my shoulder whenever I eat a bit of cake or fail to adequately moisturise everywhere, but maintenance is generally going well. Nails in much better shape.

Threw out a bunch of old/wrong make up at the weekend which has helped me actually find the right stuff when I'm looking for it.

Eternalprocrastinator, no procrastination permitted on this thread. Revitalash is the conditioner I'm using ATM, it has had an effect, but would love something more dramatic. Find myself staring when I see a lady with long lashes - I so want to ask 'Are those real?'

Green tea is AOK lillybloom. Welcome everyone!

lillybloom · 17/01/2012 07:16

Thanks Blackswan.

chocolateandcoffee · 17/01/2012 07:37

yep I'm in, really need to spend time on me. Now dc's are getting bigger I have no excuses.

We have booked our first ever family hols for july and I need motivation. I'm a size 18 aiming for a nice toned 14-16 with lovely smooth skin.

Can I leave out the fish please. Hare it. Dose tinned tuna count?

chocolateandcoffee · 17/01/2012 07:45

Oh can I do divina instead of shread? I bought it before christmas. still in its wrapper. I shall set it free this morning

DaveGrohlsgirl · 17/01/2012 12:10

OK, I'm in.......am power walking instead of DVDing, and am now off to plan when I am going to fit everything else in.....will report back!!

eternalprocrastinator · 17/01/2012 20:24

Today I have managed:

  • teeth whitening (teeth feeling v tingly now)
  • hair oil (Kerastase ElixirUltime - I can highly recommend it especially if you have fine hair as its doesn't weight it down)
  • healthy breakfast (shreddies, that's healthy right?)
  • no fizzy drinks AND no chocolate (even though it's not what I've given up). Can I offset that against a glass of wine?

No exercise though - bike tomorrow (damn....there's the procrastination again....tricky habit to kick)

Chocolateandcoffee - tinned tuna definitely counts as oily fish. Tick that one off!

Am off to google Revitalash now - thanks BlackSwan - and the Shred...am intrigued.

BlackSwan · 17/01/2012 21:01

How amazing does Kerastase Elixer smell? I love it.
Wine? Mid week?! Heavens. I'm sidestepping that request. Let it be on your own conscience!

Agree tinned tuna is fine. Particularly if you can't stomach other fishies.

KateSpade · 17/01/2012 21:47

Im joining! I can't remember if i've posted in this before, i've been lurking!

i'm off make-up (much to my very very Angry) as i had an accident in the garden whilst i was out smoking and ended up my 9 stitches in my face and a mahoosive friction burn on my head! But, normally i wear falsies every day and am massively into make up,

I've always been wanting to try the kerastase elixir, my hairs fine-ish however i am looking into getting a new set of clip-in's as mine are a bit ratty.

2lbs loss this week, need to keep up drinking lots of water as i think that helped!

need to get on with the fake tan, but its hard when i can't do my face...

Once I've lost a bit more weight, I'm treating myself to getting my teeth whitened, to spurn me on a bit more!

Also, i will order the shred this week!

Sorry its been a long one!

BlackSwan · 17/01/2012 22:05

Youch! We princesses are a little accident prone. That sounds like a spectacular accident KateSpade. Welcome aboard.

Just to recap:
17. Give up one naughty favourite item. like cigarettes, for instance

OP posts:
mathanxiety · 18/01/2012 05:46

I suppose I'll have to fish the mini stair stepper out from under the bed again so...

passmyglassplease · 18/01/2012 07:20

Ok count me in, I need this thread to keep me motivated Grin

I have a question re fizzy water, does it count as a fizzy drink? I am addicted to the stuff.

Naughty item to give up, biscuits
Exercise, does walking the dog twice a day count?
Will check out argon oil, although methinks it may be a little out of my price range, does anyone have any good alternatives?

I am definitely not going to drink during the week, xmas has had a terrible effect on my midriff, and only going to have the odd glass of wine at the weekend.

Thanks for starting the thread, I am normally a lurker but this time I am marking my place.

Have a good day Smile

(pass wonders off to buy water filter as she secretly knows that fizzy water is not as good as the distilled stuff)

BlackSwan · 18/01/2012 07:55

Fizzywater - you can have as much as you like. Just so long as it's not the flavoured stuff.

OP posts:
mamasin · 18/01/2012 18:32

thanks lucewheel will try soap and glory range. used Dermalogica microfoliant (too enthusiastically?) on my face and have horrible bumps now Blush

eternalprocrastinator · 18/01/2012 20:06

Evening all! Katespade - sorry to hear about your accident and welcome to the thread.

Pleased about the fizzy water - am switching it for coke.

So, I've googled Revitalash and there's good reviews and bad reviews and stuff about it dying your skin possibly even your eyes. BlackSwan, have you noticed side effects? I imagine some of the other princesses must have used this, what do people think?

Dosey · 18/01/2012 21:31

Hi there just reporting in, I am so enjoying princes sing and starting to see a big difference, I think the green tea and water is helping lots with my skin. I am also eating a handful of almonds everyday. My skin and nails are looking fab x
