I have been reading .....

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1156122-Project-Princess/AllOnOnePage

Fab thread and so inspiring!

Is anyone still doing this?

I am trying to add in the good habits from the thread into my life and wondered how well all the posters had done in their changes?

OP posts:

i'm in! really need to take more care of myself, I'm normally well groomed but had a bug the other week and was going to nursery without makeup and greasy hair!the horror! went for a massage last week and it was bliss so have booked myself in for an hour of reflexology on friday and planning on doing my insanity workout tonight and have bought myself some new foundation and some false lashes to bung on and feel a bit more glam. Will give myself a fake tan and a shellac manicure tonight. need to get back into it- i'm a beauty therapist so at the mo i'm hardly good advertising!

Claragoesbumpsinthenight · 31/10/2011 12:52

Can I just mention to read the side effects of rapidlash before you try it...im crap at linking but just google it.. not sure how safe it is.xx

wandawings · 31/10/2011 17:14

Day 1
Exfoliated all over.
Intensive feet moisturiser on.
All over body moisturiser on.
Eye Cream on.
Healthy breakfast eaten.
Healthy lunch eaten.
2 cups of hot water and lemon drunk.
About to take my vitamins.

I haven't had my usual couple of cups of coffee and have a headache which I can only assume has come from that plus I definitely haven't drunk enough so must do better tomorrow. Feel a bit smug but in a good way, it's about time I cared about me. Never had that urge to beautify myself before.

Thanks everyone.

LaVitaBellissima · 31/10/2011 18:31

I'm now adding night cream to the list as I've been picked for the Clinique product test Grin

I've exfoliated my face, de fuzzed ladygarden was an embarrassment Blush, and am going to go to bed with a thick layer of foot cream and bed socks!

I remember the dettol bath thing from the last thread, going to add to to my shopping list, what's is supposed to do?

Another tip is slowly trying to reduce how much sugar you have in tea/coffee, I've gone from having a heaped teaspoon to barely half a spoon over the last year. It's the little things that make all the difference

wordfactory · 31/10/2011 19:26

Hi all, can I join?
I'm always on the look out for self improvemnet.
Must say though, I am balking at the no wine midweek and the fizzy drinks (am sipping a diet coke as we speak) Blush

bigkidsdidit · 31/10/2011 19:33

dettol bath? WTF? what does it do?

sunshineoutdoors · 31/10/2011 20:15

Hi, Sorry can I ask again for any anti ageing cream recommendations?

Karbea · 31/10/2011 20:37

Can I join please?

Haven't exercised for months, dreadful diet, spots etc :(

TheGrassIsJewelled · 31/10/2011 20:39

I'm not following the list strictly, but am pick n mixing with the aim of general improvement! Just being on the thread reminds me to do something daily! Drinking more water, taking vitamins, reducing caffeine, restricting wine to the weekend and trying to sort one thing each day (crest strip or shave legs or whatever). I love the sugar tip below, lavita.
I want to drop a dress size before January so need to add in some exercise, but am struggling with this.

gailforce1 · 31/10/2011 21:07

Clara - Had my first Shellac manicure last week and so far very impressed! By now my varnish would be chipped and I would be removing it but the shellac looks as good as the day it was put on! Amazing!

Waiting to see how removal goes and what state my nails will be in. Shame there are not more colours in the range!

What is the Dettol bath? Sounds very medical to me - very far from pampering!

BlackSwan · 31/10/2011 21:41

OK I just bought a killer ionic hairdryer online. I will have shiny locks.

beatenbyayellowzombie · 31/10/2011 22:06

Crest strips arrived today but have unfortunately counteracted that with several a glass of red wine.

Still, have kept up the rest, including 7-a-day [hshock] [hsmile]

QBEE · 31/10/2011 23:12

This thread is costing me a small fortune!
Wft is a dettol bath!?

QBEE · 31/10/2011 23:13
mathanxiety · 31/10/2011 23:59

I have a feeling Dettol would be better for the bath than for me.

frutilla · 01/11/2011 00:11

I'm in, don't eat fish but will do some juicing instead!

Snapespeare · 01/11/2011 09:04

Dettol bath - five capfuls of Dettol (you can get a nice lavendery one these days...) in a hot bath with your usual nice smelly stuff. I have NEVER felt so clean! Also clears up any little scratches. I was very sceptical Hmm but it's great for a once a week good scrub. :)

gobbolinothewitchscatinboots · 01/11/2011 09:17

Yes yes!! I was the pioneer of the Dettol bath on the last thread!

It makes you soooooo clean. And clears up spots, scratches, dry skin etc.

I also championed the sudocream facemask on the last thread Grin

gobbolinothewitchscatinboots · 01/11/2011 09:18

'tis me catinboots BTW

DrunkenDaisy · 01/11/2011 09:56

Ok I'm a bit scared about the side effects of Rapid Lash now - has anyone had any weirdness with it?

Also, doesn't the dettol bath really dry your skin out?

catinboots · 01/11/2011 10:02

What are the side effects of Rapidlash?

Nope - for some reason it's not drying. I actually find it helps with dry, flakey skin.

underactivethyroidmum · 01/11/2011 10:50

Days 1&2 - 8 glasses of water a day - this isn't as easy at it sounds - I'm weeing a lot.

  1. Exfoliating - bought some of those gloves which are great and cheap
  1. Using some kind of teeth whitener - currently saving for some white strips
  1. Using some kind of regenerative face cream - done
  1. Intensive nail care (feet and hands) - done
  2. Some kind of eyelash growth serum - no thanks, I have uber sensitive eyes as it is
  1. The Shred / other intensive exercise - Oops does 20 trips to the loo a day count ???
  1. At least 2 extra fruit & veg - got the 2 extra fruit in and salad for lunch !
  1. £1 a day into a jar (fined an extra £1 if no cardio). - I'm forfeiting my daily sarnie from the deli up the road so I'm actually saving more than a £1 Grin
  1. Hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) - Need to buy

  2. No alcohol during the week - does medicinal whisky count ???

  3. Daily vitamins- done

  4. Body brushing- is that the same as exfoliating ??

  5. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week.- I have fish in the freezer for later in the week

  6. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. - I have designated Wednesday

  7. Regular hair removal - I actually do this regularly however I am going to treat myself to a proper eyebrow job

  8. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps - no cake till Xmas

  9. No more fizzy drinks - I really cannot do without my daily diet coke fix AND give up cake

  10. DAILY body moisturising. - done

  11. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m.- Urgh no thanks my Gran used to give me this as a cure for constipation !!!!

Lizzylou · 01/11/2011 10:52

I have been taking baby steps.
Have been fag free for 3 days (you have no idea how much going fag free has scared me).
Loads of water, dance class last night, a retinol cream treatment last night...

Sooo, what does the sudocrem mask do? I have combination skin and wrinkles, will it work for me???

DrunkenDaisy · 01/11/2011 10:56

Rapid Lash is supposed to be the same stuff that they use to treat glaucoma or something. Long term effects are supposed to be unknown but it has changed people's eye colour eg, from blue to brown.

I also want to know what a sudocreme face mask does. My teenager puts it on her spots and it works really well.

wordfactory · 01/11/2011 10:56

Okay I started the day with a cup of hot lemon.
Then had a healthy breakfast (scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast).
Followed by a long bracing walk wiht the dog.
Later I will order some hair oil and lash serum...

as for my teeth...I think I'm going to finally do it. I'm going to gte braces.
