Bare Escentuals: THE DEVIL'S OWN WORK

JodieHarsh · 25/09/2011 17:16

I must post about this. I have just spunked nearly ninety quid on some Bare Escentuals starter kit things.

I arrived at the counter in Stratford Westfield with a hideous bright red, sore, scarred, spotty, sweaty face, and some WITCH managed to take a decade off me with POWDER. Just powder! I mean - WT actual F?! A tube ride and a 20 minute walk home and it's still there. SURELY that's not right. I've used all sorts of super-max coverage matte stuff and it didn't cover ANYTHING like this well. O and I have the glowing rosy cheeks of a teen Shock

I promise I've not been giver a tenner to post this stuff. It's just I've spent so much I feel slightly sick. Does anyone else use this stuff? it's not going to last is it. i'm an idiot. What have I done

Grin

I'm INTREEEGED

Is there a Scarlet Pimpernel emoticon?

Is it really lame that I want to get my work done for the night then sit down and watch Embarrassing Bodies, and do it all again, you know for practice like? Blush

Don't answer that. Leave me to my shame.

I wanted to play with mine too

thats why I did my D

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 19:45

Har!

I am DETERMINED to FINALLY get eyeshadow right. You know how you're supposed to shade into the eyesockety bit? well I don't really have one, or not one that's distinct from any other bit of my eye, so it all just ends up a grubby mess.

I did not explain that very well and even if I had, it would have been VERY dull.

ggirl · 26/09/2011 19:45

god I lurve playing with makeup
may have to get myself to JL beauty hall for some humiliation

cyb · 26/09/2011 19:47

Ah Jodie you need my MALLY eye socketty drawing in kit.

It comes with a ball ended applicator and you rub the ball where the socket should be, ITS AMAZING

I got it from QVC hang on will link

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 19:49

WHAT WHAT THERE IS A GADGET FOR THIS STUFF?!?!?!?!?!

Funny, 32 years I've been on this planet and I've never discussed my eye-socket problem with anyone. and those people on Embarrassing Bodies think they've got ishoos.

OP posts:
cyb · 26/09/2011 19:50

you can just about see the little ball applicator that fits into your socket bone so you can apply the colour

I use it every day to draw in where my sockets should be

cyb · 26/09/2011 19:53

If you can bear to, watch the video demo on the link

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 19:53

Unbelievable!

So...like...you have the same thing? Like when your eyes are open your eyelashes are like, up against your socket? Like it should go eye, bit of eyelid, crease of eyelid, socket, but instead it goes eye, socket?

I'm blathering now and I have another few hundreds words to write before I can go and play with my new toy Sad

i have very good skin. no spots , blotches etc. but i am very old and haggard - will his work for me? or will i look like a powdery old lady? i note that all you enthusiasts are ..ahem...thirty soemthings

FreddieMercurysBolero · 26/09/2011 19:56

Cote, tell us more of this L'oreal. BE is out of my budget I fear. What brush do you use? Is it good for shitey rubbish skin?

cyb · 26/09/2011 19:56

I have upper eyelids like partially drawn Roman blinds.I could wind the excess skin round a pencil to hoik it up out of the way.

I have NOTHING resembling a visible socket unless I draw it in with my Mally kit

cyb · 26/09/2011 19:58

Kristina I am 41

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 19:58

Cyb there's potential for some pretty impressive body-piercing arrangements, right there Grin

I am amazed. I am going to watch the tutorial in the ad breaks during Embarrassing Arses.

Freddie - L'Oreal mineral foundation looks like this and comes with its own brush (as you can see in picture).

MissLovely · 26/09/2011 20:31

I'm 41 too, but seriously this stuff takes a good few years off. Agree that it's not great under the eyes, I prefer to use a cream concealer in that area.

SueNarmy · 26/09/2011 20:35

Cyb. You can apply make up v well. You dint need this shit

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/09/2011 20:37

Also 41!

ggirl · 26/09/2011 20:38

oooh Alisonqvc-tart looks hefty in that video

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 20:46

I was thinking that ggirl. I then looked down at my own looming bulk and felt thoroughly ashamed of myself.

OP posts:
ggirl · 26/09/2011 20:48

yeh well there is that I guess Blush
but she's skinny malinky now isn't she ..or is that video recent

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 20:54

Oh I dunno. I haven't watched in a while. QVC is DH's thing. sometimes i come upon him unexpectedly (not like that) and he is absorbed in watching a demonstration of card-making or something Hmm

OP posts:
MadamTwoSwords · 26/09/2011 20:56

I bought it a while ago and couldn't get on with it but sod it I'm going to get it out tonight and swirl away til I damn well get it right. I want a shine free head damn it Smile

TinyPawz · 26/09/2011 21:01

Right ladies, how much does this all weigh. Will it take a huge amount of my weight allowance for travelling?

JodieHarsh · 26/09/2011 21:03

Good luck twoswords. I think we need a BE Rogues Gallery Grin

Tiny I am delighted to confirm it weighs about as much as a fairy's fart

Anyone watching Embarrassing Arses? Oh that poor lady Sad
