I just got a bit bored, covered my legs in nair and then thought 'what the hell' and slathered it all over me bits.

It's great. HUGELY satisfying to just pull the hair out in clumps.

Looks a bit odd though, have never had a brazillian or anything so is all new to me.

Make me wonder why you would have a brazillian actually when you can just put a bit of cream on, read a trash mag whislt perched on the edge of the bath, and then shower it off.

No pain, and cheap.

I think some of you have a fucking riot going on downstairs that's for sure Grin

Meglet · 09/08/2011 21:51

I just wax mine. Over a mirror, small strips of cotton. Not as tricky or painful as you'd think.

Any of you not having any luck, you really need to wash it off with a little friction... the sponge that comes with the 'Veet in shower' is the best thing, but a rough face cloth or shower sponge would do the job, just use a little water and have a rub around before washing it all off.... just NOT too roughly!!

Honeydragon · 09/08/2011 23:41

oh i'm lovely and smooth, but only for about 12 hours.....then I have a fanjo like a badgers arse.

KaySirah · 09/08/2011 23:53

i HAVENT CHECKED
i dont ask my H to look at my arse hair either

rumpleteaser · 09/08/2011 23:56

well nair is on my shopping list for tomorrow.
Dh reckons waxing produces more spots and ingrowing hairs than shaving. (his ex was a beautician)
he waxed his armpits once and said he'd never do it again as he couldn't put his arms down again for a while.
Sigh

KaySirah · 09/08/2011 23:58

actually i HAVE checked. years ago

post natally to work out wtf a pile was

rumpleteaser · 09/08/2011 23:59

Mmmwine we will need a stubble update tomorrow.

JustFiveMinutesHAHAHA · 10/08/2011 00:00

Rumple - not for me it doesn't. Shaving causes my skin to look awful, waxing it looks lovely :) Veet is somewhere inbetween. He had a bad wax job.

rumpleteaser · 10/08/2011 00:06

haha justfive his ex did it!
I tried to epilate my legs once.. Childbirth was less painful. Ow.
Any tips on ingrowing hairs anyone? Mine scar Sad

JustFiveMinutesHAHAHA · 10/08/2011 00:33

When I used to get waxed she would rub almond oil over any waxed areas and give me a little pot of stuff to put on later on - but I never did because I never had a problem with ingrown hairs - but I'm sure someone else could tell you what it would have been. Try 'style & beauty' if no one on here can tell you :)

Cheeser · 10/08/2011 08:03

The last time I used Veet was in my late teens and it was rubbish. Hairs were defiant - not a single one came out - so I presumed it just wasn't for me. A decade later and I've struggled with the pain of waxing and the shaving spots from razors and in desperation even bought an epilator but couldn't bear to inflict it on myself.

So after reading this thread - and Sali Hughes' page in the Guardian who also recommends the Veet - and thought I'd give it another bash. Blimey. It is completely different. I followed the timing guidelines (I usually add on half again with anything hair-wise as I seem to have very coarse hair) and it ALL scraped off with the spatular after. No pain, no redness, it feels exactly the same as a wax. A wax usually costs me about £30 - the tube of Veet was £6 from Boots and I have loads left.

Didn't venture down as far as the BH though, I did what I'd call a 'rubbish brazilian' (when you ask specifically for a Brazilian and they don't do your bum - like someone said upthread I was always disappointed when they didn't go down there - if you've got smooth flaps but a furry undercarriage it's all a bit incongruous). So tonight I'm going to do it again and do it all. What's the best way to reach?? When I did it last night I just perched on the edge of the bath with legs splayed - would I have to do a semi squat?? What glamour. Smile

Rumpleteaser - I have some lotion for ingrowing hairs which works a treat - it's called Tend Skin and you just apply some after hair removal or every day after removal depending how badly you get them, it works by stripping away the top cells so the hairs free themselves quicker. Doesn't hurt at all - think it's some sort of alcohol solution. Cost me about £8 from ebay I think and it's lasted ages.

rumpleteaser · 10/08/2011 09:18

cheeser thanks I will investigate that.
Maybe you need a mirror whilst squatting? Yep, being all smooth and lovely ain't glamourous!

DrunkenDaisy · 10/08/2011 11:48

I too am inspired and have put Veet and Nair on my shopping list.

But tell me, can I fake tan after? I'm going on holiday on sunday and don't want to be either hairy or white.

thenightsky · 10/08/2011 12:54

You tan your flaps?? [agast]

ReadyToDrink · 10/08/2011 14:26

I'm trying to imagine what that would look like, but my mind is only summoning a picture of Peter Andre's face.

ThatVikRinA22 · 10/08/2011 21:55

thats near enough readytodrink Grin

i am ready to report that i now have a 5'oclock shadow....doesnt last long does it?

thenightsky · 10/08/2011 22:27

Vicar What's that? 24 hours hair free? Rubbish.

ThatVikRinA22 · 10/08/2011 22:50

well to be fair on the nair...

i had trouble with stubble....

JustFiveMinutesHAHAHA · 10/08/2011 22:57

Vicar - do it again but use a little friction when removing it next time - it really does make all the difference :)

ThatVikRinA22 · 10/08/2011 23:02

i did,

i did it twice yesterday and used a shower puff to errrm, provide some friction.

i still had stubble trouble.

but i will do it again tomorrow though just to test this out!
