Has anyone removed all their pubic hair with hair remover cream (poss TMI but what the hell)

GetOrfMoiSamsungFridgeFreezer · 05/08/2011 17:20

I just got a bit bored, covered my legs in nair and then thought 'what the hell' and slathered it all over me bits.

It's great. HUGELY satisfying to just pull the hair out in clumps.

Looks a bit odd though, have never had a brazillian or anything so is all new to me.

Make me wonder why you would have a brazillian actually when you can just put a bit of cream on, read a trash mag whislt perched on the edge of the bath, and then shower it off.

No pain, and cheap.

Which product are you using?

The 'In shower' veet is really good, but you have to be careful of your skin as it's very strong. I also can't actually use it in the shower as it just washes off me - but it's nicer to use and is good. Do be careful though - it is strong!

Quodlibet · 10/08/2011 23:25

But why are you all ridding yourselves of luxuriant bumhole hair when the beauty industry has just come up with bottom lash mascara? Wink

rumpleteaser · 11/08/2011 12:35

Jeepers quo £10! I'd need a bigger brush..

frankie3 · 11/08/2011 12:43

I have the shower veet which comes with a spatula and the sensitive veet which comes with a sponge.

Which veet is better, and is the sponge or spatula better for the hair removal bit?

(I am only doing the edge bits, not a whole brazilian!)

nocake · 11/08/2011 12:55

Thank you for providing such amusing reading, ladies Grin Despite being 20% gorilla my DW has never requested that I shave, wax or otherwise depilate my nether regions. The closest encounter I've ever had with hair removal cream was to remove a small patch of hair before minor knee surgery and it was itchy as hell as the hair grew back. I'm really not going to do that anywhere else on my body. I'd get funny looks in the office if I was sat here scratching my balls.

Phoenix · 13/08/2011 16:58

Right I've eventually got round to trying this and it went ok apart from one area. I got it on my c section scar and it looks quite red and weepy right nowSad. I'm still stubbly though and not completely hair free (mainly cos I washed it off a bit early due to a burning feelingBlush)

Phoenix · 13/08/2011 17:10

Oh and it was Nair sensitive I used.

I just put a bit of Witch Hazel gel on my bits and it stung like a bitchGrinGrin

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/08/2011 20:35

i just did it again today - better result this time but still not 100% perfect - never had a bad reaction to it though....i obviously have flame proof bits!

Phoenix · 13/08/2011 20:42

All my other bits survived it (my BH in particular:o) just not the scar :(, it doesn't look as bad now though. I may give it another go tomorrow but avoid the scar.

ChippingIn · 13/08/2011 21:31

Phoenix - I wouldn't do it tomorrow, it's better to leave it a couple of days (some say 48 hrs, some say 72), unless you have a hide like a rhino yes you, vicarinatutu.

Vicar - it's a wonder you are not very sore!! I'm glad you had a better result this time. Maybe try the other brand next time?

Undertone · 13/08/2011 21:43

I got waxed for thr first time on Wed - it's lurrrvely. How do I know what an ingrowing hair looks like? Does it look like a spot? I'm a ginge so my hair is about the same colour as my skin when it's short, so does that make a difference spotting them?

QuinnFabray · 13/08/2011 23:02

At 2.00pm I nair'ed (sensitive) one side, and waxed the the other (not as painful as I thought it would be ). I've never done either before, I usually clipper it as short as possible with a beard trimmer. 11.00pm, the waxed side is sore, itchy, red and blotchy. The nair'ed side is a little bit too, but no where near as bad. The waxed side is actually hairless. The nair'ed side is hairless on the surface, but my coase black pube roots are still clearly visable under the surface. I am covered in sudocreme. I don't think brazilians are are for me.

TheDailyWail · 14/08/2011 14:24

Grin @ your lopsidedness.

Clarence15 · 15/08/2011 08:40

Love this thread, especially the tanned flaps/Peter Andre's face comparison (very true, very true Grin)

Just a slight deviation from the hair removal cream, but if you want to keep a landing strip what's the best way to keep that bit of hair neat? I tend to find that i have nice smooth sides but the central 'hairy strip' gets too long. I can almost plait it. I trim it with scissors but feel like I need to use a shaver with a guard - is this a Ladyshave I'm talking about? Not used one of those since I used to borrow my mum's when I was 15.

ThatVikRinA22 · 15/08/2011 22:38

get the Quattro thing that you use with a battery - one end is a razor and the other is a clipper.

mine is redundant at the moment however

msshapelybottom · 16/08/2011 06:51

What a giggle :)

Even nair/veet is too much hassle for me...I just use a beard trimmer (bought for the purpose of trimming pubes, I don't actually have a beard) and trim to 0.5mm on the edges and underneath and a No1 on the mound. Takes about 30 secs, no more ingrown hairs & my current fella loves the look. Ok, it's not super smooth, but at least I don't claw at myself with regrowth. Nothing worse when you're in Tesco with a basket of shopping in one hand & a child in the other, trying to use the freezer as a scratching post.

Incidentally, I was shaving for 10 years and all that time suffered from thrush which would not clear up. The very month I stopped shaving the thrush stopped and has never come back.

Oh, and I do have a hairy BH but cannot bring myself to use the trimmer there. I imagine a bloodfest which would be hard to explain to A&E.

QuinnFabray · 16/08/2011 07:26

msshapelybottom, that is what I usually do, very short and neat, and no pain or discomfort. Interesting about the thrush. . .

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/08/2011 07:30

Oh did this the other day but will go back to my regular brazilian wax as lasts much longer.

ThatVikRinA22 · 16/08/2011 18:36

yeah i suspect this painless version of a brazilian is not for me....doesnt last long enough.

where do you get a beard trimmer?

minipie · 16/08/2011 18:59

msshapely and Quinn but doesn't that mean the hair is really short and spiky the whole time? Basically as if you have a designer stubble minge?

msshapelybottom · 16/08/2011 19:23

Vicarinatutu - Argos has them....

pube tamer

This is the one I have, I like it because it can trim to 0.5mm.

Minipie, the bush/stubbly mass is not prickly at all, quite soft actually. The side bits are trimmed almost short enough to look shaved but it's not as finished looking obv. I have once had a man with stubble down there and I did wonder if we would create sparks or at least get stuck together (no bad thing considering what he was doing) but there were no mishaps!

I cannot vouch for anyone else's minge though. I probably have fairy pubes. Those of you with nuclear-proof foof hair might have teflon stubble issues for all I know.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 16/08/2011 22:29

May I recommend to all you ladies struggling with the too-short 10 min window and stubble to give Veet for coarse hair a go.

It'll whip away your wirey pubes cleanly leaving a silky smooth finish. I'm not brave enough to try it on the ol' bum hole though, may invest in the sensitive stuff and work upwards!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 16/08/2011 22:31

Nothing worse when you're in Tesco with a basket of shopping in one hand & a child in the other, trying to use the freezer as a scratching post.

pahahahahahaha Grin that has got to be my most favourite sentence of the year!

QueeferSutherland · 16/08/2011 22:40

Right, Gerorf, ya bastard.

I read the start of this thread when you started it and thought I'd give it a whirl. (I used veet sensitive.)

OWW

It stung like billy-o about the, ahem, labial region, and it's gone a bit scabby near my clit.Blush It was all patchy too.

Good around the bottom though.

Hopefully · 17/08/2011 00:11

It is 9 minutes past midnight, and I am having the most enjoyable night feed I have ever had reading about you lot Grin

I keep waking DH up laughing. If he asks me what I am finding so amusing how the fuck am I going to explain?
