notyummy, hope things aren't as bad as you fear.

Wow at the pregnant Fleecy rocking the playsuit. With your slim limbs I am sure it looks fab.

blossoming · 16/06/2011 10:43

Super stylish fleecy. Any chance of a photo?

OP posts:
Fleecy · 16/06/2011 11:17

Now exciting bloss I've never uploaded an outfit photo before but have just done it. A bit blurry (and excuse the mess behind - massive charity shop pile ready to go out, room will then be decorated for baby, yay!) but you get the idea. I rather like it as a work outfit without being the frumpy pregnant one, something I'm finding hard to do at the moment. I don't like to turn up to all my clients in jeans, some of them need a bit more but not full on workwear. Tricky!

Right, now off, have lovely afternoons everyone. I will leave you with this - what a fantastic name. I love it! A MNer on the living overseas board linked to it for me. It's in one of the towns we're looking at.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/06/2011 11:33

You look fab fleecy. Thanks for sharing Smile

Wow fleecy, brilliant! I'm very excited at the prospect of you living in Spain too. What kind of work will you do?

OllieinOrange · 16/06/2011 12:22

Phew. Checked my emails whilst at Dutch lesson (last one - yipee) and saw the Wrap sale had started! Luckily the shorts and jumper I am still waiting for are not in the sale. Actually, not much is but it says its a mid season one so wonder when the end of season one will start?

It was decided last night to stop the Expat Mums Group I help run - with immediate effect. Membership has been low for a while now and 2 of the Steering Team no longer want to continue which doesn't make it viable. I feel quite Sad about it as I got so much out of it when I first moved over here and enjoyed the speakers/activities etc we arranged - and the High Tea of course! Means I now really have nothing to do outside of the home so will pick up Dutch lessons again in Sept but also think about looking for a PT job. No idea what I can do tho....

Torrential rain here today - its like living in Wales eh Bloss?!

blossoming · 16/06/2011 12:37

What do you mea? It's sunny here Wink.
No, Ollie you've just reminded me why I always go to the south of France on holidays. Much as I love Brittany, and would love to visit Holland, I need guaranteed sunshine after putting up with the misery that is Snowdonia weather 50 weeks of the year!
Shame about your expat group. Change is hard. I'm sure there's an exciting chapter ahead of you. Maybe in a few years it could start up again though.

OllieinOrange · 16/06/2011 12:58

Pickled - sorry, meant to write yesterday that I'm going to be strong and give the Agnes's a miss - but a big thank you for thinking of me - you are lovely. Much as I love them, I really want to try them on in RL and was struggling to find things I would wear with them (my wardrobe is very much blue based at the moment!). Plus I seem to be emptying my allowance account each month (on what I have no idea) and currently "owe" DH 200 euros which I hate. Will think again in the Autumn when hopefully I can have another trip over to London?

NY hope DD is ok. Can fully understand your concerns.
Bloss with you on the holiday front - if it aint sunny, it aint a holiday! Was half thinking about starting a blog on living over here (eg places to go, things to see, shops to visit, in etc etc) - but like Mme Lindt's Swiss one. Not sure if there would be enough of interest in it to anyone and think there are a few along the same lines already. Hmmmm (thats me pondering the idea further!)

blossoming · 16/06/2011 13:24

That sounds good ollie. I always like to hear about your life over there.

wideawakenurse · 16/06/2011 13:30

Hello. Home with DS today - feeling a bit better, but my goodness what I wouldn't do to just be under the duvet right now. Still, only 6 hours till bedtime. Wink

Great picture Fleecy, you make the play suit look totally suitable for work. Love chip Thursdays!

Ollie sorry to hear about your group, it's sad when something you have put effort into, both in terms of time and also your own emotional energy comes to an end...especially on the actions of others. As Bloss says, maybe this is a new chapter for you. What would you like to do? Looking at your pictures of some of the things you make and create, you have real talent there.

Emo hope you are having a wonderful time and not getting too wet.

NY Poor DD, she has been so poorly before, so totally understandable as to why you are so worried. Let us know if we can help at all, and hope the Drs appointment is useful for you both.

Rain, rain, rain here. Totally miserable. Had a quick look online whilst DS was napping - and saw this blouse and thought of MrsCB and her quest for a governess style blouse some time ago.

FritziGreenEyes · 16/06/2011 13:36

ollie Blog is a fab idea!!!! Shame about your expat group... It always sounded like so much fun. Is there another group you could join/start?

notyummy Fingers crossed that DD will perk up soon!

Can't wait for emo's report. Would love a glass of champagne right now

fleecy You look fab in that outfit, your legs are so slim!

We have decided that we need to spend our holiday money on our house, so will not go on away in July Sad. Lots of BBQs and trips to the outdoor swimming pool instead. It also means that I don't need to stress about buying yet more summer clothes as I have enough already.

blossoming · 16/06/2011 13:48

I have Ascot on. It's sunny there now. Wonder if emo's having some nice champagne?

OP posts:
wideawakenurse · 16/06/2011 13:57

Same here Fritzi, I am feeling a bit fed up at the prospect of no holiday at the moment, but for us, putting the money towards moving is sensible. Lets hope for good weather to have a good summer at home.

I have switched over to BBC 1 Bloss too, and yes we seem to have that sun here now as Ascot not that far from us. Looking forward to some outfit spotting.

mrsjuan · 16/06/2011 14:05

Dashing in.
Potty training, house valuations and keeping up do not go hand in hand!
Pickled - sorry I missed the jeans vote - love the agnes's
NY - good going on the mum's race. Really hope DD is ok. Good going on the mum's race.
What a shame about your group Ollie - you put so much work in Sad
Dashing out.

OllieinOrange · 16/06/2011 14:34

Ooh - the P8 sale is on and your white dress is in it WAN. Am going to get one too - did you size down? I'm normally a 12 but have a couple of size 10 tops that fit ok so not sure which to get. Advise please!!!

redllamayellowllama · 16/06/2011 14:39

Have just had a terribly successful trip to Selfridges. I went everywhere looking for a bag I loved and came close in R&B, but it was practical and not beautiful. Into the Mulberry concession, where I saw the Alexa Hobo in Oak for the first time, fell in love with it and got it for £450 reduced from £910. Love. It.

The Seafolly bikini was another success and then picked up some accessories for the hen and a pair of Toms espadrilles for DH for Sunday, as he insists on wearing his falling apart pair and it was irritating me.

Hope Emo is having fab time at Ladies day.

Reine cake sounds amazing; the cake form of peanut M&Ms. Yum.

Well done in the race NY, felt very Sad hearing about the other mum. Hope DD is ok; you must be so worried about her.

Sorry to hear about your group disbanding Ollie. A blog sounds like a great idea; there must be an angle not already covered by current ones.

Fleecy you look amazing.

MrsJ and Bloss how's the potty training going?!

ABO Particularly keen on the jacket. Saw some lovely trenches out and about on Oxford Street.

Glad you're beginning to feel better WAN - is DH back at the weekend?

Fritzi frm what I hear, Staycationing is THE fabulous thing to so this summer!

wideawakenurse · 16/06/2011 14:51

Yes, I did size down, and it fits fine. The belt is a little small though, I have ended up using another tan skinny belt that is a bit longer.

red so glad that you got your bag - sounds like you had a great day. I'm sure you will use it and love it for years to come. DH home on Sunday night.

pickledsiblings · 16/06/2011 15:24

Fleecy, you look so lovely in that outfit.

Ollie, what a shame about your group. I was contemplating writing a blog, apparently Wordpress is better that Blogger. I got as far as registering a name. You should do it, we're all interested in it.

red, hurrah for the bag, yeah!

NY, hope DD is alright. You are bound to be anxious but at least whatever it is it's the very early stages.

I must be mad, I am thinking of applying for a job (after being sworn in to the career SAHM club by Bonsoir). It's at the boy's school and I haven't taught in a classroom for about 100 years and I've never taught in a primary school classroom. I have a meeting with the Head next Thursday where I intend to persuade her that I am the best person for the job Hmm. I know I said I didn't want to teach again, but this would be a whole layer of challenge that would at least work logistically.

OllieinOrange · 16/06/2011 15:45

Pickled - I'm going to have a good think about a blog and maybe make a list of the sort of stuff I could blog about to see if I can come up wth enough worthy posts eg Mars Planets reduced to 99cents in the local supermarket or how to rock the orange look on Queens Day! I will if you will! Great re your interview. Whatcha going to wear Smile
WAN - thanks for that. Am about to order (and have just posted a toy garage, storage boxes and an ikea bag of toys on a local buy/sell website to pay for it!)

Just spoken to my Mum - my Dad has been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and needs to see a specialist. Dad says there's nothing wrong (denial), Mum is fretting. Not a good combination.

OllieinOrange · 16/06/2011 15:50

Red am so happy for you - and thats a really good reduction for a Mulberry. Please post pic of you modelling it!
Any sign of Emo on the tele yet?
Fritzi I sometimes think we don't see enough of Holland so actually think it would be nice to stay home and do day trips etc. You and DD are more than welcome to head over here if you fancy a few days holiday to Holland!

redllamayellowllama · 16/06/2011 16:48

Ollie, your wish is my command. They're on profile. Sorry to hear about your Dad; must be hard trying to calm them both from a distance.

Pickled - how exciting! It might re-invigorate you to go into a completely different setting. A really interesting challenge. And what will you be wearing for the meeting? Smart with jewellery thrown in in primary colours?!

notyummy · 16/06/2011 17:05

DD has bacterial tonsillitus and is on abs. She still sounds immensely chesty though, and one of her pneumonia episodes started with a bad throat, so I am twitchy. She is functioning OK when under a double dose of paracetomal and ibuprofen....but wilts completely and temperature sores when they wear off.

Pickled - exciting stuff. Interview outfit thoughts...?

Ollie - it is sad when something you have enjoyed and been instrumental in ends. I know exactly how you feel.
