Bargainous white jeans on the Outnet

pickledsiblings · 15/06/2011 14:17

Loving all the cardy links. You have such a nice selection Bloss. Do they wash well? Most of mine are H&M but I may invest in some new ones - what colour should I be going for Bloss?

Red, I always found that as soon as I had established a routine that I could depend upon when mine were little, it changed! Time for a new/different routine maybe?

AllBuggiedOut · 15/06/2011 14:44

That wrap cardie is lovely carciofi although wouldn't work on me (too lazy to do it up, and although it looks lovely on the model left undone, I lok dreadful in anything that does that kind of waterfall thing).

Which colour biker do you have roary? I did wonder if leather was the way to go. Or a friend has a fantastic Belstaff jacket which I think is sort of waxed(ish...) cotton which is great on her.

Definitely need a navy trench for cooler days.

And I love the Boden cardies in all the colours I shouldn't wear. But in my best colours (dark green, navy, chocolate) they all feel a bit school uniform if that makes sense. Maybe I need to try though as can see they'd be very useful.

See, you are helping me find my mojo again, thanks!

roary good work on the maxi! It's not online any more, but I bought this dark brown maxi from White Company a couple of months back and always feel very glam in it. I wear with this gold bracelet which is sufficiently large not to be swamped by the dress but not too chunky.

blossoming · 15/06/2011 14:47

Great result roary. I am hopeless with accessories. I have a platinum chain watch I wear to go out, that's all Blush.

pickled, I find they wash really well. Have you had your colours done? Are you cream or White? Gold or silver? Leopard or zebra?

OP posts:
roary · 15/06/2011 14:50

ABO it's the chocolate.
Bloss what level of dressed-up do you think that dress will go to? (That makes NO sense but you might see what I mean)

blossoming · 15/06/2011 14:50

My trench in navy is still on Banana Republic site abo.

blossoming · 15/06/2011 14:54

roary, considering style and fabric I reckon smart. When I wore mine dh said, I can't wear jeans with you in that! He did though, but they're indigo, with shirt and jacket.

blossoming · 15/06/2011 14:59

Thanks for your feedback re gifts. I'll order straight away.

I have decided to potty train dd. Fun and games and milky way stars!

I have a navy BR trench too - wonderful item! may be worth waiting for a late summer discount code though?

Counting down to AScot!!

notyummy · 15/06/2011 15:50

So glad you found THE dress Roary

Did a 7 mile run this AM as was working from home, and then was bantered into doing the mums race at the school sports day this afternoon. There were 20 of us, so a good turnout. I was really trying hard not to look like scary competitive mum (which I am bit really...) so had gone in flip flops....which was a mistake as everyone else was in trainers!! Ran in barefeet, had a rubbish start as a result and came 2nd out of 20. Not bad at all - especially when I discovered the winner was 12 years younger than me!

DD was 'placed' in 3 out of 4 races she was in and is still proudly sporting her stickers (as am i Grin)

blossoming · 15/06/2011 16:11

Well done notyummy. It's not too early to start training for next year is it?

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 15/06/2011 17:24

Congratulations Carciofi, so pleased you had a good birth experience.

(Just marking my place as I still browse all your LOVELY links, this is Librashavinganotherbiscuit namechanged)

blossoming · 15/06/2011 17:37

I want to start a thread 'What to wear for the mums race..'

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 15/06/2011 17:45

Haven't had time to read (new brief). But see there is a very important VOTE going on Grin. I shall be back soonish.

AntPants1 · 15/06/2011 20:10

pickled another vote for the khaki Agnes. They look great.

Lovely to see you carciofi I hope you are having lots of milky cuddles.

Hope you are feeling better wan

roary sorry event shopping was not fun. Glad you sorted dress in the end. If it helps I have lost count the number of times I have had a shopping trip ruined by my body image

Yes Bloss sounds like we have identical body shapes, although you are much more toned than me.

My trench needs replacing. The lining is ripped and it generally looks tatty. It's from
Zara but is only 2 years old. Really like a
Whistles one, but is ££. emo do you think Banana Rep will run a % off deal soon?

ReineDeSaba · 16/06/2011 00:34

Just popping in after pub quiz with friends(ooh the glamour!)..trying it as a means to revive my children fried brain!

clever you could be a first for the satorialist with the 'show pants to the world' look Smile

mme wow with your links..smokin'

roary glad you found something that makes you feel good..don't be so hard on yourself though,I would love spider legs(by the way I can't stop laughing about your dallas lady comment..hilarious!)

bloss lovely gift idea..where were you on my 40th Smile The races pic was great..sorry it wasn't more fun but I am pinching your look if it rains at the garden weddings this summer.

carciofi you are a superstar for being back posting so soon..you look truly radiant postbirth and baby is beautiful(am scared I am getting broody again)

I love the way you look in the agnes pickled and Khaki especially.

well done notyummy dd1 has a sports day coming up..I'll be lucky to come 2nd from last..I'm so not a runner!

ABO you look amazing in the Milly.

red they decided on an american style chocolate peanut butter cake..it's a small wedding with no other children apart from relatives' so no allergy issues.by the way you do look very leggy in your pictures Envy

pickledsiblings · 16/06/2011 09:39

Morning All

Reine, pub quiz sounds like fun Smile.

Thank you so much to all of you for helping me to decide which jeans to keep. A 'thank you' too to MrsJ for giving me a nudge in the right direction. I am parceling up my returns today as DH is complaining about the clutter. If anyone wants any of the ones I've listed (thinking mainly of Ollie), let me know before lunch time. There are still some around in the shops on sale, but not many.

Clevery, love that Lady Di link.

NY, well done!

Emo76 · 16/06/2011 09:57

Quick buzz in to say hello - off to Ladies Day today - weather appalling and missed courier on watermelon mini alexa delivery so have simple silver clutch - could this be enforced wisdom?!

Obviously I am going to fail to pace myself on the champagne, i am SO excited!!

notyummy · 16/06/2011 09:59

That photo is great Cleverly! Apart from Princess Di they all look so old - I think it is the hairdos aging them! You can tell it is a different spread of society from our school - not many people in dresses there yesterday! Oh, and Bloss, to aid your research, I wore black above-the-knee cargo shorts with a Mango printed flower tee and bronze toe-post flats (although they were removed for the actual race!)

One of the mums fell and did a complete somersault. I felt really sorry for her as she was mortified. She hadn't wanted to do it as she is heavily overweight and felt really embarrassed, but her DS was desperate for her to be in it, and she didn't want to let him down. She said to me 'how can I tell him it is all about taking part if I don't give it a try?'....and then it all went wrong. She wasn't hurt but was nearly in tears, saying to me 'He will be ashamed of me.' He is only 5, so I told her there is no way he will be - he will remember it as the time his mum joined in and did a roly poly. (I am not sure if that helped tbh, but I don't know her that well and was trying to help Blush)

notyummy · 16/06/2011 10:00

Emo - have FANTASTIC day. We need a fashion report!

DD is poorly and on the sofa. I have had to cancel a load of meetings and have a doctors appointment later. It has all the early symptoms of the pneumonia that she has had twice before, so I am fretting slightly.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/06/2011 10:31

Sorry your DD is not well ny. Fingers crossed it's nothing nasty.

Have a great day emo

Inspired by your cover-up recommendations, I've just been on the Banana Republic sale site and have ordered a waxed linen short trench, knit blazer in navy (belt looks dodgy but presuming it can be removed) and, just because I was ordering, green skirt. Will report back...

cleverly do you wear a helmet on your bike, and if so, can you help me find one please? My parents have bought me a bike for my birthday (and yes, I did take my HoC chart to the shop to decide which colour to have it painted [obsessed emoticon]) but I am scared of going helmet shopping. is there such a thing as a stylish helmet?!

And thanks reine

blossoming · 16/06/2011 10:32

Morning all!
Glad you approved reine, on both fronts!
How awful for the other mum notyummy. I think your response was perfect. I am dreading ours. Think I came 3rd or 4th last year depending on who you talked to.
Have a fab day emo. Sun has broken through here. Hope it's the same where you are.
Hope things are settling for you carciofi. Must be odd habing your dh around during the day!

OP posts:
Fleecy · 16/06/2011 10:37

Great present idea bloss - I?m not a huge make-up person but the older I get, the more I find it makes a difference yet I?m not someone who instinctively knows how to wear it. So even if they?re not big fans, I think they would find it thoughtful and useful!

Hi biscuits nice to see you again

carciofi am very impressed at you being back on the thread so quickly! They still had the Hunters in every size last night so worth a look if you?re still interested.

Sounds like fun emo - you?re always doing something glamorous! Hope it?s a fantastic day.

Oh no ny that?s not good about your lovely DD. I hope it doesn?t develop into pneumonia and she perks up soon.

reine am salivating at the thought of that cake. Peanut butter on toast for breakfast here and it clearly wasn?t enough! Still, chip day at work today ? they moved it from Friday to Thursday as I?m not in on Fridays and I?m one of the greedier team members Grin

On that note, I am feeling rather stylish today but it?s a bit controversial for MN, although not for this thread. Am wearing this playsuit today and where it?s shirred at the waist I have just pulled it down to below the bump. This also makes it longer in the leg so it?s work appropriate, well for marketing/advertising people anyway! Have teamed it with a stone linen blazer and nude patent mid-heel courts and it looks rather nice. No doubt it will chuck it down later...
