New thread here!

Petit i really like those Tiffany bags - not that eye wateringly expensive either compared to some and reversible so v versatile Wink etc. Not seen them before - interesting, very interesting......!

Had a nice day trip out to a big open air museum -lots of Dutch houses/farm buildings/windmills etc next to a huge lake - set in a beautiful town which we'd not been to before. Shattered now tho - too much fresh air!

I have one more week before DSs school finishes for the summer hols - am meeting friends for coffee tomorrow, having a facial, doing some pre-holiday prep and DH has taken Thursday off for us to have a day out together. I too am in a bit of a holiday weight-related panic and even shredded last night - first time ever on a Saturday evening! Hasn't stopped me scoffing a huge piece of apple tart with whipped cream this afternoon and now the mini magnums are calling me from the freezer. Damm!

herecomesthsun · 26/06/2011 19:35

I got the Jalouse yestrday. I think they are gorgeous and surprisingly comfy. However, the soles are very smooth/ slippy so they might need an undersole. Would you wear them with little socks inside and bare legs given that some of the write up suggested they are suitable for summer?

Had a lovely day taking DS to a party. DH came along as well, to run around on my behalf, which was very kind. I was not aiming at dressing very stylishly, given that a) it was extremely hot and b) we were headed for soft play. I might save my efforts at looking glam for later in the week when I am off to a conference.

OllieinOrange · 26/06/2011 20:03

I've just realised that the Jalouse stone is grey - not taupe/beige (I really should be chucked off here sometimes!). Has anyone got them in stone yet? Some pics I find of them make them out to be almost two tone but these pics of some on ebay here make them look more of an even colour - if that makes any sense at all. What would you say was more accurate?

Mine are stone. They look just like the Ebay picture to which you linked. They are a very soft leather, a bit distressed looking, in a dark grey.

Ambernj1 · 26/06/2011 21:20

ollie I have the stone/grey - they are definitely grey and I would say they are sort of two tone, darker at heel and toe.

For those of you reading the ST today: in the Travel section, no. 13 in 'best restaurants with rooms' is where I had my steak yesterday!

Enjoy the sunshine ladies :)

Desigual A line skirt and navy strappy vest here today.

blossoming · 27/06/2011 08:22

The brilliant azure pleat neck boden dress here! Perfect throw on school run, hovering with potty dress.

mrsjuan · 27/06/2011 09:22

Denim shorts & broderie anglaise vest top here. Scorching!

bloss what are you doing about nappies at night? DD has started to say she doesn't want one on now but she is still waking up wet in the morning so I don't think I'm she's ready yet. Never simple is it?

blossoming · 27/06/2011 09:38

mrsjuan, I'm putting a nappy on for naps. I remember DS was dry day and night after about 3 weeks of training, although he was 2 and 9 months. Some of his friends weren't dry at night till years later. So I'm not thinking about taking that away. Tbh when I wake her up, she is dry, but if she's already awake she's wee'ed already.

OP posts:
mrsjuan · 27/06/2011 10:02

Thanks bloss. She's been ok without one for naps since the start but night seems such a long time! To be honest she is usually awake and singing go herself for a while before I go to her so she may well be weeing then rather than during the night. I'll have to investigate!

I like your description of the dress- I think Boden should use the 'perfect hovering over the potty dress' line in the catalogue.

notyummy · 27/06/2011 10:12

Morning all! Phew....it's hot. I am sinning in S and B eyes and wearing linen trousers. In my defence, I have moved to a new building wear I am unsure of how formal the dress code is, so didn't want to wear a summer dress....but it is sooooo hot, so have opted for new black linen Jaeger trousers that personla shopped found for me. V nice cut.

annoe - loved the sound of your outfit yesterday. DH has found his trial run birthday cake wanting! Apparently the icing is 'the wrong texture' and 'Nigella's chocolate cake receipe a BIG disappointment.' Another attempt coming up!

Bloss - I have the Sunday Times but haven't got to that supplement yet. Will scrutinise!

Well, I nearly cracked and ordered stuff on Saturday from the sales. However the only stuff left in Zara that I fancied was handbags....and they didn't have the colour I wanted. I did actually order an Oasis dress (via ASOS) however I obviously entered the security code wrong as they emailed me to say the order hadn't gone through. I took this as a sign and am not going to order anything after all!!

is hot and bothered after trip to the Post Office - spent over 20 euros on returning the white Phase Eight dress (sister managed to get me one in a smaller size) and the long awaited Wrap order (grey linen jumper wasn't a nice grey - looked dirty (!) and the shorts did nothing for me - sob!). Am now officially fed up with paying for postage - esp when the returns labels allow for free P&P but doesnt apply outside of UK! Huff.

(Whilst huffing, I am wearing grey White Company tunic top and white (gasp) jeggings (bigger gasp) - which actually looks better than it sounds!). Off to meet 2 friends for coffee/iced tea which no doubt will restore my spirits!

FritziGreenEyes · 27/06/2011 13:00

ollie I think we should file a petition for free P&P to Europe. Online shoppers unite!

Wearing chambray jumpsuit today. Everybody around me is moaning about "the heatwave" already. It is the first day of proper sunshineand I love it. Have been planning my outfits for the whole week Smile

vinestein · 27/06/2011 13:18

Congratulations carciofi. She is just gorgeous.
Sorry havent been aroun to bless you all with my rambling posts of late. Work has been hell! Inspection and auditing and being told to fix 20 years of stuff ups in 2 days! Well, ovedrsights lets say. Oh dear. So stressed!
Currently on phone in hospital. No dramas.
Have not got enough summer clothes I am wearing blue zara dress today with old gap black flat sandals and yellow bag.
Was naughty in selfridges and my credit card thus is off limits for some time! Lanvin bags..ehem.. saw some gorgeous bags there in soft thin leather in bright colours, can't temember who by but I stroked them for quite a while... still undecided about my course!

vinestein · 27/06/2011 13:33

Ooh those tiffany bags...

redllamayellowllama · 27/06/2011 13:49

Hi ladies,

Wilting here. Heat and I do not work well together. I am despairing of my hair at the minute - it is all growing back after thinning a lot post-DD, so I have an all-over halo of fuzz about 2 inches long. It looks, quite frankly, ridiculous.

Great end to the weekend with a BBQ at my sister's place on our return from Bristol. Lovely.

Bloss and MrsJ I love the idea of hovering-appropriate outfits {grin]! As an aside, after looking at so many threads on here, I'm sure there is a market for a personal shopper who specialises in boosting post-DCs body confidence, clearing wardrobes and helping to find event-appropriate outfits. Would love to do that.

Ollie and Fritzi - must be v annoying on the returns front. Ollie - I find the stone Jalouses to be very much grey and ever so slightly distressed, but not so much as to appear two-toned.

Some very nice sounding summer work outfits NY and Clevery. V Envy of your red hasbeens.

Good to see you Vin - sorry work is so hectic. Any nice links for us to peruse?

Not so Envy of them now then..! I am forever going over on one heel in my Lottas. Hope you're ok.

blossoming · 27/06/2011 14:46

Oh dear cleverything! You poor thing.
Good to see you vin.
The sun has gone in here and I have a headache. Precursor to thunder I think.
