New thread here!

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 25/06/2011 08:42

Morning ladies. So much avidity going on here.

Am feeling a little worse for wear after too much wine with our lovely friends down in Bristol. We went to see the new place yesterday and met with an architect and I feel very enthused about it all. Also saw a gorgeous nursery for DS which will hopefully have some space for him. So all in all, a good day.

How are you this morning WAN? Wink

Hello to Sleep!

Glad younlove everything Fritzi; isn't the Vince sweater lovely? Am desperate to get wearing mine.

Love the coloured trousers; I live in mine.

My rubbish TK Maxx never has any Blochs in it. Is annoying.

Have lovely Saturdays all.

Ambernj1 · 25/06/2011 08:43

Emo I am the worst handbag enabler in the world (hence my 6 mulberries) so I would definitely say keep - is the bag leather? If so, properly protected with leather spray, it shouldn't be too hard to keep it clean, plus you returned the mini...

sleep I prefer the second dress myself, more wearable I think. I love the cardigan but agree with blindassassin, I would constantly be worrying about snagging it at that price!

Shame about the Burberry blindassassin twas lovely, though can see how it might be tricky to get maximum use out of. I am in a similar position re. waterproof coat - so hard to find a stylish one! I'm quite hankering after a Barbour but the ones with hoods are generally ugly!

39 weeks today and bored witless of being pregnant and the limited fashion opportunities that entails! While my IO stuff is v flattering I am so bored of it it is unreal!

redllamayellowllama · 25/06/2011 08:47

Post - fab news for your DD Portia, what a fantastic experience for her.

Ugg I have the same bag, also got for a bargains price. I love it.

Ollie hope the weather cheers up for you - chucking it down here too.

FritziGreenEyes · 25/06/2011 09:34

portia Great news about new school for your DD!

ollie yes it is the white LE dress. Smile

PORTIA4 · 25/06/2011 09:39

Mulberry announce pre tax profits of £23.3 million, a jump of 358%! Hm I wonder what % could be attributed to W&A?!

wideawakenurse · 25/06/2011 10:21

Good morning.

Am hungover. I just can't take drink like I used to. Gave it my best shot though. Wink

However, still managed to make it on the train for my day out today. Am on the train, latte in hand!

Need to take banana rep mac back, arms far too long for me.

Jalouse arrived today, I love them. Carciofi I think they are worth the full price, they are great and so comfortable. The 37 fits well, in fact is still a little loose but should be good with socks and tights. petit have yours arrived yet?

Not able to open links at the moment, will look later.

Annie personally, I think White ballet flats sound like they would be hard to keep looking pristine.

ollie hope the rain clears up for you soon. I am not convinced of the promised heat wave for tomorrow, grey and damp here too.

Bloss hope you have a lovely day in Chester today.

portia great news about DD's school. Your dress sounds lovely too. It's a good feeling when you can officially declare an item a wise buy. Smile

fritzi glad the NAP haul was a success. Shame about the Agnes though, I am on the look out today for them. By the way, that White dress you linked to from Jigsaw a while back is in the sale.

Our local TK maxx is selling hunters, same colour as fleecy's. Am tempted as a wise buy for winter. Depressing to think about, but I am sure I will get use out of them.

red your trip to Bristol sounded like it was useful and great to here you found a good nursery too, one thing to tick of the list for you.

Hf good to see you. How are the moving plans going? We are thinking of moving up the train line, one stop. Think you are in this area too? If do, I might pick your brain for info if that's ok?

Amber Hope you are not feeling too uncomfortable. Can't be long now.

Will be back with updates!

Big wave to delurkers.Grin

blossoming · 25/06/2011 10:23

Morning all. Tipping it down. Wearing polo neck.
All of us adjusting to dh being home. ollie, it's the lkb bag, and no I'm not getting it as dh has decided against Chester Angry.
Going out for lunch. Mil coming over.
(My fault for refusing to put dd back in nappies).

In a bit of a strop really, but hi to everyone. wan, I dread to think how you feel! Great news on nursery snd school red and portia. Lovely to ha've new posters. Please stick around!

OP posts:
notyummy · 25/06/2011 10:37

Hi all - I can't keep up!

Hello to all the delurkers. And a big cheery HEEELLOOO and a back slap to those with hangovers (that was just what you needed, wasn't it Wink?) That will be me on a few occasions next month.....

I haven't been avid recently because of money spent on olympics tickets, beauty creams, Car tax (!!) and hotels on my Scottish trip. I have actually succeeded this month in only buying 2 items - my Zara snakeskin tee, and a pair of trainers (which I am not really counting as they are to stop my poor old knees falling apart, rather than any real S & B purchase.) I have been enjoying all the links though! I have decided to order some stuff from the Zara sale on the premise that it will come out when I get paid next week...

DH is downstairs being superdad. He is baking with DD, doing the 'trial run' of the birthday cake she has requested (a train - slightly odd for a 5 year old girl, but there you go.) Her birthday isn't for 3 weeks, but he has done the cake for the last 3 years and likes to get it perfect so always does a practice. I had a fantastic lie-in this morning - haven't slept like that in ages. I was v tired yesterday after a busy week and a long run. Fell asleep about 1130 last night....and woke up at 9 20 this morning. 10 hours solid. DH entertained DD and I didn't hear a thing. Bliss.

OllieinOrange · 25/06/2011 12:32

Bloss I feel your strop. I'd thought we could cycle into the city (under the pretence of getting DSs travel cards) and have a potter & lunch but rain put the lid on that idea. Just back from a whistle stop Ikea trip instead (DS1 wants a desk for his bday) - I still feel cheated out of a morning out tho! Hope you have a nice lunch out tho.
WAN hope you have a good day - and that the shopping keeps the hangover at bay! Will look forward to some Agnes feedback.
Emo I say keep the bag. You know you want to!!!!
NY I love your DH's cakes - sure this one will be just as good as the castle. I did this train one here for DS2 but used shop brought maderia cake as easy to cut into shape and had different sweets filling up the trucks. Very easy to do.

Bloody neighbours have gone on holiday after the postman left a parcel for me with them! It will either be the white P8 dress or the Zara sale dress. They could have easily left it in our bike shed in the front garden or given it to another neighbour. Means I wont have it in time for our holiday - so annoying.

AntPants1 · 25/06/2011 13:29

oh ollie that is very annoying I fee your pain. Do you know if they leave their keys with a neighbour? Could you pursuade that neighbour to just look in their hallway to see if it is somewhere obvious?

bloss sorry about your day.

NY what snakeskin T? sounds nice?!!......

blindassassin · 25/06/2011 13:56

Ooh Ollie that is a great idea for a cake, esp loving the idea of bought madeira cake Grin. Might have a go at it for DS's birthday in a couple of weeks. How easy is the coloured icing? What a pain about the parcel. Don't suppose they've left any windows open...? Grin

NY I remember the castle cake from last year, which reveals just how long I have lurked for Blush It was a fab cake!

Shame about the Agnes Fritzi. I too am undecided whether they're as flattering as my houlis. I have a pair from HoF sale in a 27 which could still be returned. They're the same size as my houlihans but somehow look a big baggy round the knees. Maybe it is the longer zip as you say. Waiting for a pair in a 26 from NAP to see if it's the sizing.

Bloss hope lunch with MIL not too traumatic. How old is your DD? I'm thinking about trying DS without nappies if we ever next time we get some more nice weather and he can run round the garden with no bottoms on!

Amber 39 weeks is not long to go now but I feel your pain! W had a sudden really hot spell just before DS born and I think I wore the same pair of denim shorts for about 2 weeks running, flat refusing to buy any more maternity things. Sooo dull, but at least it made choosing an outfit in the morning easy!

carciofi · 25/06/2011 14:12

Bloss, order the bag from John Lewis! And charge it to your dh.
Lovely bag, Cleverything.
WAN, your post from last night made me giggle. I got the Jalouses in the Ash store for half price, I got the second last pair. Also ordered the Crumpet red scarf Florence linked to. I am going to wait for the Me and Em sale as I saw a dress I liked and that is it for a while! DH needs a new suit and we have ordered some more furniture so the credit card needs time to recover.
HF, congrats on the new house.
My aunt has just taken DD1 out for the afternoon. She is such a great help, I will really miss her when she leaves.
Amber, I was you two weeks ago. Nearly there!
I put a photo of the baby in my profile.
Annie, I think the shoes are nice and the dark toecap means they shouldn't get too wrecked.
Emo, keep the bag.
Sleepwhendie, I like the Crumpet cashmere and also the MaxMara cardigan but you could check out Cocoa Cashmere for similar. Their sale hasn't started yet.

OllieinOrange · 25/06/2011 14:29

Ahhh Carciofi - lovely pic of DD2 - look at her adorable button nose!
Ants good idea about the neighbours having a key - I think our friends in the street may have! If they have been asked to look after the house, I dont see a problem with them getting it for me???

Blindassisin I made up a big load of buttercream icing and then divided it before using different food colourings. I will post a pic on my profile in a sec - it was all a bit of a rush job but DS2 was 2 and didnt care!

AntPants1 · 25/06/2011 15:11

carciofi she is beautiful!!!!
ollie good luck with the neighbours. Let us know how it goes! Have just been saved by lovely neighbour. I posted last week that I had ordered this wrap dress from LK Bennett in the sale for work

www.lkbennett.com/outlet/dresses/DROLWEN892VISCOSEMIX

Anyway got email from LK Bennet saying it had been despatched then delivered. Someone called Peter had signed for it. DH and nanny (neither called Peter) had not seen it much signed for it. Called LK Bennett but theynhad no idea and were going to have to track it down from the courier. Had phone call from lovely neighbour a couple of streets away with similar sounding name. She had managed to track me down and she came and delivered it this morning. So grateful dress is huge success so had ordered it in camel!!!!

Keep checking emails as was one of the millions who tried to get olympic tickets on Friday. Was a complete pain. Website kept crashing. Have no idea if my request went through. I have an transaction ref in my account details but have not had a confirmation email. Will be so disappointed. Really really want to take DD who will be 7. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have the olympics in your home town.

AntPants1 · 25/06/2011 15:14

Oh and have just ordered this dress from coggles. It is a complete random buy but I just really liked the look of it

www.coggles.com/item/Religion/B101FCD60-Black-Dress/9GUT

carciofi · 25/06/2011 15:14

Thanks Ollie. She is a really easy baby, though has her awake time between 6-9pm which is just when I am wrecked. Better that than the middle of the night though. That cake is very impressive, you are so talented. Hope you get your package before you go away.
Portia, great about your DD.

carciofi · 25/06/2011 15:16

Ants, thanks. She looks like her dad! Lovely dresses.

blossoming · 25/06/2011 18:17

Lovely photos carciofi (and lovely garden furniture in the background!)
I had a really nice day, and mil managed with dd and ds, dd even using the potty albeit with her knickers still on! It's really hard for ds though, as he is so used to mil giving him 100% attention. He finds it really hard to share her.
blindassassin, she is 21 months. I know, I know, people tell me she's young for training, but I don't care. She's doing really well, and I am fed up of nappies. I have been changing them for 6.5 years without stop. I am not going back!
I took agnes and chanel out with me. I had champagne to start, then scallops with aubergine puree and garlic and chilli oil followed by steak and chips, then completely broke the diet with eton mess. I find I can eat my body weight at lunch time, but I won't eat again today.
DH was relaxed and had a great time too. Mil has gone, and he said, let's do this every Saturday! Okay, but Chester next time so I can grap some shopping time!

ollie, please get your package before the holidays. Even if you have to hire a burglar.

Yum - that sounds delicious bloss - wish I had your discipline though!

Carciofi your daughters are so beautiful, as are yours Emo -your eldest daughter looks so much like you.

I like that religion dress Ants

Tried the New Look coloured jeans today. They didn't look as bad as I thought they might but I'm not sure I would actually wear them.

I've found my Ash high tops for £80 in the John Lewis sale. Is that a good price do you think? I only paid £55 from cocosa but they've been great so don't mind paying more.

I could also do with some blochs so shall keep an eye out on coggles with everyone else.

blossoming · 25/06/2011 19:17

For those of you knew to this thread, the bloss top is back! I wore it to my interview on Thursday, such a great top.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 25/06/2011 19:35

Aww Carciofi she is beautiful.

Bloss if it's going well it's going well with potty training.

MrsJ um answer is not sure! as not sure how much they are originally.

I am back to normal. Washing machine fixed, service wash mountain returned folded and clean.
Fritzi did you have coins in some pipe? If so, online diagnosis may have been possible.

AND have sorted paint for all walls. And am so happy to have swapped the fawn for stony ground. So much better. And tunsgate green, for the Pale Powder. Got Wimborne White for ceilings. whoop whhop

Did order a bag from TheOutnet. But once again it is possibly so bad that I shall not link Grin

wideawakenurse · 25/06/2011 19:41

Hello.

Strange day out today. Mainly due to hangover really. The sales weren't that great now, it's the last pickings really.

No Agnes or Houli's at all in Selfridges, and no Splendid or Equipment on sale in there either. Picked up a lovely snakeskin scarf in the Maje concession - which was down to £31. I took it to the till, but they could not put it through so I just left it and gave up. Couldn't have wanted it that much.

Swapped the BR trench for another size, an so the arms are a better length on me. It's a great trench.

Tried to find some black ballet pumps - only quilted or patent in R&B. I am looking for plain matte leather ones, but again too much sale stuff about to find basics like that.

Tried a lovely skirt on in Anthropolgie, a rose coloured pencil skirt - which would have looked great with a silky blouse tucked into it. I left it behind though, apart from DH's up and coming birthday celebrations I don't really have much cause to wear it. Can't find it on the website though so no link.

So not the most success day, but more than happy to come home empty handed rather than with an un-wise purchase. Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 25/06/2011 20:06

marsha Yes, coins and some small twigs Hmm.

Bought another white cotton dress today from Esprit in the sale. Weather forecast for next week is 30 degrees Smile.

Ambernj1 · 25/06/2011 20:21

wan sounds like the Maje scarf I bought on Tuesday! Shame your trip wasn't too successful but as you say much better to come home empty-handed than with stuff you don't really love. Unfortunately I never seem to have that problem!

Carciofi she is beautiful, cannot wait to have a snuggly newborn again!

Anyone got any bringing on labour tips?

cardoon · 25/06/2011 22:16

Jalouse arrived here today too wan........ (imagine you may be in bed by now!)

gorgeous and very comfy once customised with an insole
