New thread here!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 24/06/2011 17:56

I love both those looks. And should have done both more in my twenties.

AllBuggiedOut · 24/06/2011 17:56

annimac are you near a TK Maxx? Blochs often crop up in our local one, but sizes and colours very hit-and-miss, as you'd expect. Usually £20-£25 though...

PlumSykes · 24/06/2011 18:18

What size are you, Annie? I have a pair of these in a 6 that I got in TK Maxx, picked up wrong size by mistake (I'ma 5, they were on wrong shelf)and DH binned the receipt. Was planning to Ebay them, but let me know if you want them.

PlumSykes · 24/06/2011 18:23

Like that look, petit. I have a fancy for these from Topshop.

petitdonkey · 24/06/2011 18:48

I love that colour Plum but, as even the mannequin looks slightly wide of hips in those, they may not be good on my thighs!

Feel quite stressed and tired this evening - the constant chatter in the car, cleaning up after tea, bathtime with two girls needing hairwashes and the general hilarity on the landing after the bath.... I guess one day's adorable is the next day's irritating.

Oh well, it's Friday so time for a glass of wine and a cheeky smoke. DH will be home tomorrow and there will be no school run, yay!

FritziGreenEyes · 24/06/2011 20:33

Sorry, no time to read all posts properly. Just wanted to say that I got Land's End and NAP order today. I'm keeping everything Grin except the black Agnes as the fit around knees and calves is not quite as good as my houlis. The reason, I think, is that the zip on the calves is longer, i.e. goes up to the knee panel and makes the fabric bulge a bit.

Anyone interested in a pair of black Agnes size 28 for 122 before I send them back?

mrsjuan · 24/06/2011 20:43

Evening all - I'm starting to love the coloured trousers look. New Look has some in some nice colours very similar to those Topshop ones that I'm going to try tomorrow if anyone fancies joining me in a 'try it out for cheap' attempt.

Also saw a leopard print maxi in DPs the other day which looked good at a glance and made me think of you NY!

Glad you love your NAP order fritzi - now i know the orders have been delivered I will be checking my email every 5 minutes for MJ bag returns Grin

Petit I am shattered this evening too - everything seems to have been a bit of a battle with DD today. She does seem to have got the hang of the potty now though which is a bonus.

mrsjuan · 24/06/2011 20:43

Good work cleverything

FritziGreenEyes · 24/06/2011 20:50

petit The fashion blog you linked to is great! I love WIT but this is just so refreshing and makes a nice change from Breton stripes and marl T-shirts Wink.

clevery Lovely bag and very wise choice! I was thinking about ordering this bag in red from Zara sale.

annie I had all off-white ballerinas from R&B once and wore them for two seasons. I'd say marking isn't worse than with any coloured or suede shoes. If you love them and they are comfortable, keep them! Smile Your DD is gorgeous!

plum If no one else wants them, I'd be happy to take those size 6 gorgeous plum coloured Blochs off your hands. Love, love, love Blochs and thanks to LTEC who introduced them!

bloss Please enlighten me: What is pirate chic?! Hmm If there was any way I could get to Chester tomorrow, I would love to meet you for a browse around the shops and a celebratory glass of champagne!

Think I need to check on DH as it is all quiet upstairs. He might have fallen asleep (again) while reading DD a story.

PORTIA4 · 24/06/2011 20:57

Plum Pmed you a short while ago about the BlochsSmile
Petit that blog is great, it's nice to see something different.
Nice bag Cleverly!

florenceuk · 24/06/2011 21:06

More nice scarves - I thought someone on here was coveting this? red scarf

I have those Topshop 7/8ths jeans in blue - they are quite a good fit for me (slim-ish apple, no calves to speak of!) and a good length for cool days when shorts are too cold.

blossoming · 24/06/2011 21:45

fritzi, she had calf length low rise harems, slouchy boots and billowing top. You know how I love a streamlined classic look..! She loved the Agnes though.
I would also love it if we could have a shopping day! Let's arrange something!

I am envious of petit's cheeky fag. Can't drink my wine fast enough tonight!

OP posts:
wideawakenurse · 24/06/2011 22:42

Oh goodness! Am on the train gone, too much to drink and have the hicups

Ended up spending the evening in one of our staff nurses garden dancing to lady gaga in the rain all night. Am soaked though, necking a coke from
Mcdonalds.

Have had far too much wine, and have ended the day without any style!!

WAN sounds like a brilliant evening!!!
frizi love the Zara bag. I love red bags and have a small red clutch. Very good for jazzing up an outfit as Annie says.

Sleepwhenidie · 25/06/2011 07:30

Hi, can I join? This talk of blochs is upsetting me, I bought a pair of wedges the other day and instead of struggling to carry them in box whilst pushing p&t with DD and ds2 in, I put them on and stuffed beloved black/bronze blochs (not from tk maxx Hmm) into bottom of buggy. Got home to find just one, grumpy DS2 must have thrown one out of the buggy and I walked miles that afternoon Sad.

Now, can I get your opinions on a few things please? I have received nap and matches orders from sale, trying to decide what to keep.

I ordered this and this intending to choose one but I love both...help me justify keeping them, or am I crazy? I like wearing them with cropped leggings and nude bra but the fancy sleeve one also looks good over jeans and is a little more dressy...

I also have a black fine knit dress, short sleeves, bit looser cut than the first one above, with a big hole in the back with fine mesh racer back underneath. It appears to have sold out on nap now so can't link, but what do you all think of the sound of this for daytime wear? It has a quite low (but not indecent) v neck and falls to just above the knee. Again I would wear with cropped black leggings and wedges or pumps (when I replace blochs Hmm You can see bra strap across back through the mesh but I think that's ok? DH says it looks like I put underwear (bra and mesh cami) on, forgetting I was wearing a backless dress that day Hmm but he's no fashion guru Grin

I also ordered this but am struggling with the price vs my cashmere cardigan obsession. It feels so gorgeous on. Thoughts?

MarshaBrady · 25/06/2011 07:52

You're right Annie totally doable now. I had a brief flash back. I always liked pretty mixed with masculine. I had forgotten how much I loved doing that back then. I love that style.

There is an slouchy beautiful cashmere Bottega Veneta jumper and Balenciaga leather skirt I would like but very ££ of course.

I checked Coggles for Blochs usually in £30s but still expensive. Should go down more.

Bad sleep. Ds moaning!

blindassassin · 25/06/2011 08:07

Good morning all- annie I meant to chip in earlier that I have a pair of cream ballet flats that I live in. I actually need to replace them they've had that much wear, but they seem to go with anything and look great with tanned feet and crops/skinnies. Think the Hobbs ones could be useful.

Fritzi love red bags. There was a red Mulberry clutch in NAP sale I think that I was dithering over. Probably gone now.

Plum I tried those TS 7/8ths in a coral colour but found them literally spray on tight (and I have really slim legs) and not v flattering on me anyway.

Hi sleep - I've only just started posting but have lurked for aaages! Love the look of all your knitwear purchases - very avid! Personally I couldn't justify the price of the MaxMara, lovely that it is. I would be worried about hatching/bobbling every time I wore it. Of the two tunics you linked to I prefer the cutout one I think as it looks more versatile. Is the first one much shorter? - in which case it's quite different and the sleeves are lovely...possibly just clutching at straws for reasons to keep both though Grin

Have got my wise hat on and decided that the Burberry yellow parka is going back. Lovely as it is, it's just too £££ for what is effectively an unlined cagoule I think and doesn't really fill the gap in my coat inventory as I'd hoped. I need something a bit warmer. Currently have a fleece lined Boden printed mac bought in a moment of madness! I am desperate to stick it on ebay but need to get something waterproof and not hotchpotch print stylish with a hood to replace it.

Have lovely Saturdays all.

MarshaBrady · 25/06/2011 08:11

Ah bad luck re shoe Sleep. I can't quite decide on the MaxMara.

Emo76 · 25/06/2011 08:17

Stumbling in here after four nights out on the trot (a combination of work, pleasure and being a bit silly) boy am I glad it's the weekend. I resolve to run every day and stay away from the red wine. DH has bad back so I have some serious childcare responsibilities today, about time too some might say!

bloss huge congratulations, well done well done well done!

cleverything I love that bag - looks really good for the price - let us know what it's like once you receive it!

I have a confession to make, I purchased a cream full size alexa in the NAP sale - the one with red gold coloured metalwork - and I am surprised how much I like it! However I am still not sure a cream bag is a good idea at all, and it was still a lot of money, so at the moment it is hidden at work for a decision to keep or return on Monday. The mini Alexa in watermelon has been returned. Any enabling thoughts?

just wanted to say hello to all the new posters - amber that's my 'hood too - I might be forced to check Marilyn Moore out this weekend....!

PORTIA4 · 25/06/2011 08:20

Morning! Just checked the post & got some good news DD2 has been offered place in a new school for Sept 2012, so she's off to boarding school in France in Sept and then on to a new school the following year!
Derby day tomorrow, we are having a brunch here, and then off to the races, I think that I'll wear the ole Boden dress again! On a per wear basis it definitely was a wise buy!
Back to my shopping list! I have lots of organising and cooking to do today, we are going to a dinner party tonight so I need to be sorted by then. I will wear a black satin shift dress with cream embroidery that I got in Monsoon last year, another wise buy that I got lots of wear out of Smile

uggmum · 25/06/2011 08:22

I have treated myself to a mulberry, alexa hobo bag in tan. It is lovely. A complete bargain at £300 off

PORTIA4 · 25/06/2011 08:27

Uggmum you lucky thing!

OllieinOrange · 25/06/2011 08:38

Tipping down with rain here today AGAIN but its supposed to be 25c tomorrow.
Sleepwhendie hello! Bad luck on the Blochs - I hate it when things like that happen. I love the Crumpet cashmere top top you linked too. The MM knit is wonderful but agree with Blindassisn. The White Company usually have v similar in their A/W stuff?
Fritzi Great on your successful order (was in the white dress you ordered from LE?). Bag would be a lovely addition to your lovely wardrobe!
Petit I can't remember what colouring you are? Some nice links tho.
Portia thats great about DD. Sounds like you will have a lovely day.
Bloss are you planning on getting the R&B bag today???

Have lovely Saturdays everyone.
