New thread here!

Bloss, good luck tonight. I am definitely going to try to come along and meet you, Fridays are the one day that are not great so need to try to rearrange. I am back with a vengeance! DH very kindly gave me extra money so I am trying not to let it blow a hole in my pocket. I had a look at the Anna bag in Westfield, it is very nice indeed (sits on hands).

Good luck, Pickled!

carciofi · 23/06/2011 11:37

Bloss, sorry, I meant I need to try to rearrange something not you! Bit tired.

wideawakenurse · 23/06/2011 12:01

Back from toddler group - trying to wrestle a custard cream out of DS's hands, and convincing him his allergy friendly biscuit was the same as the other children's. Not my most stylish moment!

Pickled Good luck for today.

Marsha wish I could help with the colours, all I do know is that I have seen some beautiful wallpaper in F&B that I would love in our future bedroom.

VB The boots are very nice, although I have ordered the grey Jalouse. I am now dreaming of a wool jumper dress, falke tights and the Jalouse for winter.

Ollie hope you pick up some bargains in Zara.

Fritzi impressed with your washing machine knowledge!

I have just bought a bottle of Nail Envy from OPI as my nails have become so weak since being back at work. I blame the alcohol hand rub that we have to use. Well, at least I'm not drinking it like some poor folk do!

roary · 23/06/2011 12:15

Hi all
Marsha thanks for the compliment and we have tallow in DS's room - it's lovely. Not creamy creamy creamy (ie, no Farrow's cream) but a lovely warm white. White Tie is a very cool white so it is completely different. in our north facing hall white tie read almost grey.

OllieinOrange · 23/06/2011 12:39

Back from Zara - feel battered and bruised - and empty of bags! Brought zilch! Only a third of the store had sale stuff out and v random sizes. Tried a lovely cream top on only to find it wasnt in the sale so put it back! Grrrr!
Am going to order a dress and top online but is this the Zara top WIT is wearing today? zara top and WIT

Off to make cuppa and catch up on here.

mrsjuan · 23/06/2011 13:23

Shame about your Zara sale experience Ollie -the shop gives me the heebie jeebies at the best of times (why do people think it's acceptable to throw so many clothes on the floor) so imagine I would hate the sale. Stick to ordering online.

I've enjoyed checking out the W&A men - I've discovered I hardly got any photos of mine (will have to rectify) so have put on one from a cheesy photo shoot we did in our living room over a year ago to help DH's friend test out his new studio kit! I mainly like it for DD's wtf face at the dog (yes, we included him too Blush.)

The jalouse banter made me laugh last night. I desperately need a new pair of Ash high tops as mine have just about disintegrated - if anyone sees them on sale anywhere please could you give me a shout?

Anyone get anything in the ASOS sale? I've ordered an overnight bag and a few tops - nothing very exciting.

blossoming · 23/06/2011 13:24

I know I have foot phobia, but I think wit's sandals are ugly with that outfit. They would work better with shorts or a maxi I think. Were they seriously named after her? Envy
I also think she lost too much weight. And Kate Middleton too.

clevery, I really do recommend Ian Marber. I also recommend swapping white pasta for Dove Farm organic brown rice pasta. DD was eating it off my plate earlier. Really tasty and healthy. Eat it with protein. And keep off the butter and the sugar!

Hope things go well for you pickled.
I may be in such a flat spin later I shall have forgotten my own name. It is at 6pm.

Revising...

OP posts:
blossoming · 23/06/2011 13:25

Meant to say, the brown rice pasta cooks in 7 minutes. Quicker than normal pasta, and quicker than brown rice. Practically fast food!

mrsjuan · 23/06/2011 13:28

Ooh -pickled -missed that you were interviewing today too - hope it's all going /gone well. Love your ds's hair btw!

Also, have just realised that photo shoot must be nearer to 2 years ago now! Where does the time go?

Go bloss!

sympathies cleverything - my bum is expanding by the minute. I am good(ish) in the day but DH becomes a bit of a feeder by night.

blossoming · 23/06/2011 13:32

Okay, I'm done really, just going round in circles now..

this is the wrap t-shirt that somehow works. In the blue grey, which really should be called sharkskin!

I am loving the dhs! How many have a crush on ollies?

OP posts:
notyummy · 23/06/2011 14:04

Hi all. Will catch up properly later. Am at HM Treasury for a meeting- not been here before and what a stunning building and location. Am v jealous of people who work here!

FritziGreenEyes · 23/06/2011 14:11

bloss Three more weeks until mid-July. I am counting the days...

pickled Do you think I could wear houlis in that line of work? Wink Good luck for your job interview!!!

marsha They should be able to tell you at the F&B shop which kind of white complements your wall colours best.

ollie Did I understand WIT right? She only wore white on her honeymoon??? Hmm

mrsj Lots of Ash high tops on sale. Which colour/size you are looking for?

pickledsiblings · 23/06/2011 14:17

Ollie's DH does have a touch of the George Clooneys about him, doesn't he?

Thanks for all the good wishes. It went well but I don't hold out much hope as there are applications from others with direct experience of teaching and more importantly assessing Y2. However I did get some ideas about how to tailor my application. Shortlisting to be done on 1 July.

MrsJ, lovely family photo Smile. How are things going on the house and ttc front?

Bloss, are there many other candidates for the role that you are being interviewed for?

Exciting day NY. You do get lots of opportunities to wear nice things going in and out of London to lovely buildings . I love that Mango jacket you linked to btw.

mrsjuan · 23/06/2011 14:19

Fritzi - not these Grin
grey leather size 5s would be great.

Commedesgarcons · 23/06/2011 14:19

Hallo!

Snatching time whilst one DD naps, and the other DD 'does Art' comprising sticking and general mess, but she loves it.

Sports Day cancelled. Due to Weather! Wet Weather. Flaming June. Am actually wearing a quilted gilet over Houlis and white shirt. It's that chilly. Hope the proposed heatwave makes it to the Cotswolds. And then to Cornwall for 29 July, hovering for a couple of weeks. I shall be happy then.

All my lovely summer 'whites' look faintly ridiculous.

Carciofi - sensible on the bag I think. Sounds fun, but you would tire of it I bet.

Marsha - have used All White and Pointing on ceilings, and I would say with both lots of coverage required. I always reckon at least 3 coats anyway for good finish.

mrsjuan · 23/06/2011 14:23

pickled - never say never. I'm sure your application will be up there with the others. Lots of courses for assessing year 2 so you would be able to learn on the job. Our house is on the market now. The other thing - shhh Wink

redllamayellowllama · 23/06/2011 14:25

Hi all,

Good luck for today Pickled and Bloss; look forward to hearing all about it.

Jalouse + insoles = perfection. Am very pleased as was worried that my insistence on wearing them yesterday was going to result in money wasted. Maybe we need to arrange some kind of Jalouse/JBrand flash mob?! WAN I have tried the very Jalouse/Jumper Dress/Falke outfit of which you speak (this morning, you inspired me to see what it would be like) and think you will be thrilled with the outcome. Emo you really can wear them with anything.

Bloss I agree that WIT has lost too much weight, and KM.

I do want to buy WITs shoes a little bit though, in the same way I nearly bought a dress called Nancy the other day from Reiss. Shame that the Smythson Nancy bag is ugly, otherwise I would adopt the heirloom approach.

Hope you have a good shop Amber - be sure to report back!

Fritzi am impressed by your new found plumbing skills.

Good luck with house clearing Apuski - I reckon cautious optimism is the way forward; people are being cheeky with their offers anyway.

ABO I hate dressing for parties in houses and agree with others that footwear is the issue. I do feel a bit odd standing around in heels in a house so would lean towards ballet flats (worn with my Earharts and a fitted t probably, but I do err on the less dressy side when in houses).

Back to really boring cleaning tasks. We're having a leaving London party next Saturday and then my Mum arrives on Sunday to finalise selling/renting here. Off to Bristol tomorrow to see a nursery, meet with an architect to draw up extension plans and then go and hang out with our friends who have just had a baby. We're having an alternative Glastonbury party on Saturday evening (quite how alternative it will be with 6 kids under 3 between us, I don't know). I sense the coming month is going to be rather manic.

x-post with a lot of you there.

Pickled I agree that you never know. Other applicants could all be NQTs and they might be looking for someone with more experience.

MrsJ yes, a gorgeous family photo. And a Grin for you.

annie and mrsj how cute are the DHs...and annie I love your hair :) We found that putting DD to bed early has been essential to her mood, she sleeps better and actually later, so despite working full time she is still in bed by 7 every night (although she sometimes reads). DS is first at 6:30. I feel very Stern 1950s Mummy about it but I try to spend time with them in the morning (when they are happier anyway) than in the evening now.

sorry annie - I still had your old name.
late bedtime often equals early wake up time and vice versa in this house for some strange reason.
