New thread here!

That dress is lovely red.

What is everybody doing today? I have a lovely day planned; DS3 is at pre-school this morning so I am child-free for a few hours and intend to get some stuff up on e-bay. Then it's DS1's sports day at school this afternoon (no mums' race thanks the lord...) and this evening a cheese and wine party to celebrate two friends' birthdays.

So... my dilemma is what to wear to the party? If you were going to somebody's house for evening of wine, cheese and chat, what would you wear please?

Emo76 · 23/06/2011 07:37

grey jalouse here at Anna

Ambernj1 · 23/06/2011 07:53

To all London ladies lamenting the weather, we are due to hit the 30s on Monday, so all those summer buys can be made good use of over the weekend! I unfortunately will be stuck in my IO wrap dresses unless we see some movement on the baby front.

Plan today is to drop DS at nursery and head to KR to have a browse, then walk to Putney and see my parents (who are picking up the nipper from nursery) - hopefully the c. 3 miles covered will gee this baby up!

Have a lovely day all!

blossoming · 23/06/2011 08:07

Morning all
Wearing Agnes today after 3 days of leggings Blush due to potty training. I am also wearing a Wrap Breton with a grey stripe. (I sent one back because the cut and sleeves were wrong, but there was a long delay on the grey, it came last week. I'd forgotten I ordered it! And it is perfect with Agnes).
Feel quietly confident about my questions for tonight. Dh helped me all last night. I have some books to look through when dd naps at lunchtime too.

What a week though. No walking the school run because I put dd in pants. No shredding because I've been preparing for interview. On the other hand I think I could have gone 28 in the agnes after all ollie.

Ooh great news re London weather Amber!

Love all these dh pics will have to put one of dh up.... hmmm

If anyone has F&B paint on the walls, what do you have on the ceiling? F&B All White, other, or just dulux? thanks!

OllieinOrange · 23/06/2011 08:31

Zara sale online now. Gotta run (to Zara!)

wideawakenurse · 23/06/2011 08:38

Good Morning.

Amber that sounds like a lovely day, and lets hope that the long walk gets things moving for you. I love the KR for shopping, I think the Zara on Duke of York Square is the best one in London.

Bloss What time is the interview tonight? Agnes sound good, I am thinking of seeing if I can pick up a pair at the weekend, if I can get some child free time.

clevery I am in the same place diet wise, and have put a few pounds on. Am also feeling really sluggish. For me, it's too much sugar and carbs too.

ABO enjoy some child free time, and the sports day. Outfit tonight would depend on the weather really, but I would suggest skinnies and heels as a starter.

I finally caved and order the Jalouse directly from Ash this morning. Free delivery at least. Fingers crossed that they fit.

Sunny here, but chilly...not feeling very inspired with clothes at the moment, navy chino's rolled up, and a white t-shirt. Very boring!

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 09:00

Bloss good luck lovely. I am looking at dates, may be able to meet on London meet up. Is it day or night?

Ollie your dh is Dutch?

Anniemac how are you? Are you ok, hope you have some help and are feeling ok.

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 09:02

WAN not boring, it's how you wear it, sure you look fab.

Our blinking washing machine is kaput so am visiting not oft parts of the wardrobe. Fixed today hopefully.

FritziGreenEyes · 23/06/2011 09:19

ollie I can just imagine you hopping on your bike and furiously pedalling to Zara Smile

LTEC You know you always have a special place on this thread and in our hearts, mwah! Love the Reiss dress.

bloss So glad your lesson went well yesterday. I have no doubt that you will pass part 2 with flying colours!

amber Is your DH back from Barcelona? If not, don't overdo the walking Wink.

FritziGreenEyes · 23/06/2011 09:21

marsha I fixed the washing machine at work yesterday (don't ask...). Maybe I can help with some expert advice? Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 09:25

Ooh yes. Full of water, won't empty.

Roary been meaning to say you look fabulous in that dress, great photo.

carciofi · 23/06/2011 09:37

ABO, not sure whether the Current/Elliots are indigo or black but I will let you know when I arrive. Reine, they will look great on you, you have a perfect figure.
Wan, sounds classic not boring!
Bloss, glad you got on well. John Lewis have the red Anna bag and I am extremely tempted but trying to resist.
Very nice DHs, luckily for mine we have lost all our photos as they were on the old laptop, hopefully we can restore the hard drive.
Amber, you must live pretty close to me.
LTEC, big wave!
The pink AH bag arrived, I am still not sure and DH told me it was hideous and stick to the classics like Mulberry so I am going to return it. He has good taste although couldn't care less what he wears.
BlindAssassin, I love the yellow parka.
I have been wearing this striped tank a lot and it is on sale now.
I may be on the Kings Road tomorrow so will take a trip to the Ash store, otherwise I am going to jump on the bandwagon and order the Jalouse. My aunt arrives later today and is really keen to mind the baby!

FritziGreenEyes · 23/06/2011 09:38

Ahh, so the drain pipe is blocked. Exactly the same thing as we had yesterday! You need to drain the water manually but I guess how you do that depends on the model of washing machine you have. You can probably download a manual and check?

carciofi · 23/06/2011 09:39

ABO, when they arrive, I mean!
NY, outfit sounds lovely.

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 09:39

Fritzi you star. British Gas man is coming today, will tell him. Grin

Dh seems to make things worse when it comes to fixing things. He is banned.

PORTIA4 · 23/06/2011 09:51

Morning all.
Massimo Dutti have a pair of boots almost identical to the Jalouse for those on the prowlSmile!
Bloss your outfit sounds hot as DDs would say! I'm wearing WC navy jersey dress - boring but safe! I still haven't worn the P8 dresses bought at Xmas sale - must get them out, but it's still a wee bit cold here. I think that i'll copy NY and buy a lazer to wear over them. Off to Zara so......

AllBuggiedOut · 23/06/2011 10:06

marsha we have F&B pointing on walls and ceiling in our hall, stairs and landing. In the kitchen we have pointing on the walls and dulux white on the ceiling and I think it looks a bit odd. The white is too harsh I think, and I wish we'd gone for pointing on the ceiling too, or a paler F&B soft white.

wan thanks for the suggestion; if the weather is glorious I'd go with a maxi, definitely. But otherwise I find at-home really difficult to dress for. Have to take shoes off, and feel short and dumpy in skinnies and bare feet. Short skirts also a no-no as likely to sit on the floor. Wondering whether there is a gap in my wardrobe for a warmer maxi. notyummy???!

Emo76 · 23/06/2011 10:11

I am late to the Jalouse trend ... what do you wear them with?

ApuskiDusky · 23/06/2011 10:19

Marsha, about to paint our kitchen walls and ceiling F&B White Tie [lazy can't be bothered with edging emoticon]

blossoming · 23/06/2011 10:52

marsha, I'm around lunchtime on 29/7. With dcs.

Good luck down the KR Amber although nothing shifted mine!
You certainly haven't lost your shopping mojo carciofi. Wise decision on the bag I think. The red anna will be mine. Eventually! It's only because I 've seen it in rl. The colour is much brighter than ol.

lol at fritzi virtually fixing washing machines. When do you finish work?

abo, you need house flats to change into. Or espadrilles. There is no way anybody sees my feet. Perfect with agnes, or roll up chinos.

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 23/06/2011 10:58

Marsha, I wouldn't recommend F&B All White - very poor coverage. Pointing lovely though as per ABO.

I'm soooo nervous. Am about to pitch for a job that I have absolutely no experience of but just know I would be great at Grin. I am wearing the khaki Agnes.

Bloss, good luck for your interview later.

Ollie, hope you do well in the Zara sale, they have some fabulous blouses. The cherry blossom one that Reine has would look stunning on you.

Fritzi, new career as a washing machine engineer? I have just handed over £120 to a plummer for fixinf a few simple leaks.

VerityBrulee · 23/06/2011 11:17

Yesterday sounded great Bloss fingers crossed for tonight! Hope you get the red Anna, it would be a lovely work bag.

I posted these before, but I think they would be a good alternative to the Jalouse, they are lovely in RL, Gerard Darel

I was passing Primark yesterday so nipped in for a look and got white skinnies for 11E, they are a good fit! Tonne Goodman from US Vogue wears white jeans all year round with black/navy/grey/camel and looks v chic.

Cleverly I got the Clean and Lean book last year, by James Duigan I think. V good and easy to follow

Portia see you at Zara Wink

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 11:20

I like those Verity quite similar in colour to the Acne ones I have and have worn nearly every day

Thank you thank you for F&B info. I have had lots of quotes and all the painters say something different. Even amounts.

And am obsessing over colours. Need to take some back and swap with something nearly exactly the same.

Does anyone have Tallow? is it too creamy, rich? The other option is White Tie.

(hmm need to restrain F&B talk could go on about colours for ages, nearly booked a consultant to agonise over it, but thought come on, just choose!)

MarshaBrady · 23/06/2011 11:23

Pickled good luck! you will be great.
