Just bought a fab green satchel in primark, only £9. Love it,

satchel

Fleecy · 17/06/2011 18:41

LOL at 'armour' fritzi - you're right! Hope you have a fab night.

viva cute satchel. I love a good Primark haul but so rarely get the chance to visit the shops rather than going online. Are you goign to sell yours for £17 then go and get another one? Grin

petitdonkey · 17/06/2011 19:05

AAAAAHHHHH - AH sale has me in a tizz. Do I wait until Monday for my shopping day or will all the good stuff sell out over the weekend. Think I want the beige Gracie, should I just order then return if I find something nicer???

(I realise that this is a nice problem to have!!)

Emo76 · 17/06/2011 19:08

petit order and return just in case! (check their policy first but as an internet sale shouldn't be a prob)

blossoming · 17/06/2011 19:28

You all know me and my airport chic obsession, I think christine bleakley nails it. Especially love the Chanel. Have you seen the photos of her on her holidays? Fantastic body. Bet she was cold when she got home though!

She does Bloss - that scarf is gorgeous.

Well, I have to report on the most stressful afternoon that I have had. It started good, decided to go into town for an hour before collecting DS from nursery as feeling much better.

I purchased a white blazer in topshop, which I can't find on their site. I am not 100% convinced by it, but will try on at home and decide over the weekend. Also this top from Reiss which I have been lusting after for months.

Anyhow, collected DS and it poured it down. Got to the bus stop, DS screaming about being in the buggy with the rain cover on...everyone tutting at the bus stop.

Decided to abandon bus journey and walked into the Sainsburys to call a cab. 45 min wait for a taxi - tried to entertain DS in Starbucks, lasted all of 10 mins. So, we walked around the store, with him grabbing everything but refusing to get in the buggy. Everyone was looking at me as if I was some sort of deranged Mother.

Finally bought him a toy to keep him quiet, was putting it through the self-service check out, but he keep crying because he wanted to hold it, but the machine keep saying "Item removed from bagging area" GAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Taxi finally arrived, lovely, lovely taxi driver who I ended up getting his name to call the firm to tell them how kind he had been, helping me with the buggy etc. Turns out they have loads of drivers called Ali. Sad

Got home, soaked through and feeling so utterly unstylish. Cannot believe it's tipping it down and yet I bought a white blazer today Hmm

Anyway, enough moaning from me - a glass of Pinot is taking the edge of it.

Fritzi I hope you have a great night, I am sure you will look stunning in the jumpsuit.

petit order Gracie, you do not want her to be the one that gets away!

wideawakenurse · 17/06/2011 20:33

Oops! Posted in haste.

Apuski fantastic news about DH. Hope that the EA's visits were helpful today.

Sorry Fritzi, just re-read that you are not jumpsuiting tonight.

Hello to all de-lurkers.

reallygrumpy · 17/06/2011 21:13

Hello all, I haven't posted on this thread for ages (but have been lurking) because I've been neither wise nor avid but steadily getting fatter and trying not to look too frumptastic in my maternity wear. Fleecy - your jumpsuit outfit sounds fabulous.

Carciofi - huge congratulations on your new DD, lovely name, and thanks for the advice (ages ago) about the Seraphine skinnies which I've worn alot although I now can't wait to stick them on ebay. I'm amazed you're back in your skinny jeans already.

Emo - thanks for the link to the Anya sale, I'm now alot poorer having just splurged on {{http://www.anyahindmarch.com/prod/Shoulder_Bags/Handbags/Maxi_Zip_Satchel/42123/ this]] which I'd had my eye on for a while. DH bought me a chocolate Mulberry Bayswater for my birthday last month so I think that's me done for new bags for a while. Petit the returns policy is 14 days.

WAN - what a horrible afternoon - poor you! DD and I got caught in rain in the park today and both got soaked so came home and had a 'movie and popcorn' afternoon which meant I got to sit on the sofa and read Vogue while she watched Gnomeo and Juliette.

reallygrumpy · 17/06/2011 21:14

Sorry, rubbish link, should be this

blossoming · 17/06/2011 22:44

Hi grumpy, good to see you. I've been wondering how you were. Sounds like your pregnancy is progressing well. Really pleased for you.

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 18/06/2011 06:56

WAN really felt for you reading what happened yesterday but glad the taxi driver was so nice to you. (DS1 had a hatred for rain covers too - think I lost most of those battles and then had helpful people at tram stops pointing out he had wet feet!)
Reallygrumpy hello to you. When is your baby due?
Viva cute satchel.

School summer party was really good in the end despite the rain- they had huge sail like structures covering the playground so we could keep dry and had even hired a huge inflatable thing that was mostly covered for the kids to play/jump/climb on. There was a version of X Factor (lots of kids lip synching to pop songs) in the gym and lots of wine/frites/hotdogs/ice cream so kids and parents all happy! I wore white jeans, grey jumper with Kew scarf and cropped navy jacket and stayed warm and dry!

More rain today tho. Am so bored with it. Meal out with DH tonight tho which will be nice. Have a nice Saturday.

petitdonkey · 18/06/2011 07:16

WAN - hope the Pinot did it's job!

Ollie - you always seem to be attending great, well organised events!! Maybe on your blog you can tell us all how to do it?! It sounds like there is such a great sense of community there.

ReallyGrumpy - That bag is lovely. I had originally wanted it in beige, then decided on Gracie and now like the look of Coburn - this still all buggers up my wanting to buy it in the flesh. Might order Coburn then go to the shop and try the others. Although the taupe Gracie is my fave, I wonder if I might get more use from it in black?
Still haven't set on my outfit for hitting town but if the weather stays like this, it will be trousers and boots rather than dress.

Ordered my Ash boots but was sent this instead!!! How could they mix that up?? I was annoyed because I could have worn my boots on Monday but now they have to wait for denim shirt woman to send them back then on to me

petitdonkey · 18/06/2011 07:17

Keep meaning to ask, where is TraceyBath?? She was always so nice to me when I posted for the first few times in S&B, I just wondered where she had got to.

petitdonkey · 18/06/2011 07:32

Should have listened to EMO and WAN - Gracie has gone

Have ordered Coburn just in case.

dumbo1 · 18/06/2011 08:12

Hi Petit

They have a gracie in that colour at my wardrobe

moragbellingham · 18/06/2011 08:38

Discovered these beauties in TK Maxx the other day. I'm sure I remember LTEC linking to one a while back.

Apuski - Very happy hols for your family this yearSmile.

wideawakenurse · 18/06/2011 08:49

Hello.

RG Good to hear from you! Glad your pregnancy is going well. When is your due date? I love that bag - I linked to it ages ago, it is just as lovely in RL.

Petit hopefully you can track Gracie down with dumbo's link. How strange that you got sent the denim shirt, was that from My Wardrobe?

Ollie Glad the party was a success, what are you planning to wear tonight? I am bored with the rain too. Cannot believe that on the 18th of June I am going to be wearing my Babour Cameron - madness!

Hopefully today will be slightly less stressful. Plan to take DS into town, coffee shop, fruit round the market and then meeting some friends at a soft play who's husband are also at golf.

Weather means that I have resorted to winter wear - black skinnies, Splendid grey cowl neck top and probably boots for later.

Have lovely Saturdays!

carciofi · 18/06/2011 09:12

Petit, Tracey namechanged. Hope you find the Gracie and get your boots!

ReallyGrumpy, great to hear from you. A Bayswater, nice! The weight loss was the only benefit to heartburn/water retention and I still have a ways to go. You'll be out of the Seraphine jeans soon! I have mine on eBay at the moment. Thanks for the compliment on the name. FIL said "that's, hmm, unusual". Not really. Hmm It annoyed DH more than me. MIL is leaving a few days early, I like her but she is not much help and her sarcastic comments are driving DH mad.

Verity, I know, I did a complete volte-face! I am not feeling so perky this morning after being up 3.30-4.45 and then again with DD1 at 6.45. To wake myself up, I ordered the pink AH Maeve tote, I was torn between the LK Benett Anna bag and this but 50% off sealed the deal.

I listed my Houlihans on eBay, still have the labels attached so hope they sell. I think I'll get Current Elliott cargos instead as they are longer and I can wear them when it is colder.

Bloss, you will have great fun shopping for work.

Ollie have a nice night tonight.

Viva, lovely bag.

Fritzi, hope you had fun. The Boss dress sounds very elegant.

blossoming · 18/06/2011 10:57

Oh my! I've just had a lovely experience in the salon I take my daughter to in Chester. Swishy hair!! I have two hours before lunch with the girls. What can a girl do?!
Sorry it's not working out so well with your mil carciofi. It's difficult enough without having added problems.
Hope you all have lovely productive days. Look forward to hearing all about them later.
Now where to first..?

OP posts:
carciofi · 18/06/2011 11:06

Have a lovely day, Bloss. Yep, it is better if it is just us until my aunt comes.
Reine, gorgeous dress but agree it is similar to your bird dress.

OllieinOrange · 18/06/2011 12:12

Ran to the shops to return something and picked up 2 blouses which I've had my eye on for a while but thought they were overpriced but now massively reduced. Trouble is, both are from the same material (pale cream with small grey swallow print) but I couldn't decide between the style despite them being v similar (huge changing room faff!) - so brought both and will return one.
So, which one is a keeper? shorter sleeved one or longer sleeved one?
DH votes for longer sleeved one as short sleeves are a bit volumious for his taste (not a great pic of top either which doesnt help...)
Any preference?

DS2 has his first proper bday party to go to this afternoon - he is standing here telling me the Playmbobil Police quad bike present I have brought his friend isn't big enough!

OllieinOrange · 18/06/2011 12:38

Also - this top was nice in KM but just too "wonky" on me here

carciofi · 18/06/2011 13:33

Ollie, I prefer the long sleeved top.

pickledsiblings · 18/06/2011 16:07

Yes, I do too.

Carcofi, I knew you'd go for that AH, glad you got it at 50% Smile.

wideawakenurse · 18/06/2011 16:14

Long sleeved here too Ollie

Good buy on the AH carciofi. Why are you selling the Houli's?

Hope you are having a lovely afternoon Bloss.

Made the big mistake of straying out of Style and Beauty and posting on a AIBU thread about public sector pensions. Oh my, some people here really are pretty cold. Never again! Smile
