New thread here!

OP posts:
ApuskiDusky · 16/06/2011 20:59

Hello!

Thank you so much for all the London suggestions for my birthday, and apologies for not being back sooner after posting the question - estate agents are coming round to value tomorrow so I have been painting and tidying and cleaning like mad. I'll have a proper think about it at the weekend. And the obvious 'what to wear' question will no doubt follow!

NY, sorry to hear about DD, really hope the abs nip it in the bud.

Red, I had to smile at how chuffed you look with your new bag in the photos - it's lovely, and a great reduction!

Emo, hope you had a fabulous day at Ascot.

LTEC, great to see you, sorry about the pox x3. Neither of my ds's have had it yet, so have been tempted to deliberately expose them, but I guess I don't know what I would be letting myself in for!

And Ollie, hoping things aren't too serious for your dad, and that your mum starts feeling reassured soon.

Right, back to painting!

Fleecy · 16/06/2011 21:03

Thanks for your kind comments ? bump is huge but I?m starting to put on weight all over now so it?s nice to hear some more positive words!

bloss I will carry on with my copywriting ? I haven?t ever met some of my clients so it won?t be a problem for most of them if I?m not around to work in-house. Unfortunately DH?s accountancy skills won?t be transferrable so he will do more of his betting instead and be a SAHD. We will be lucky enough to be mortgage-free and receiving rental income from a couple of properties over here so we should be fine. DH very hot on budgets and that sort of thing so I figure if he?s happy with it then it must be safe!

Ollie I?m sorry to hear about your group but definitely think you should start a blog. I would be interested in reading it and others have said so too. I?d imagine once you conquer your initial nerves and get into the swing of things it might be rather fun. Your poor Mum and Dad ? must be difficult to come to terms with health issues Sad

wideawake I?m glad you?re feeling a bit better today. Hopefully better still tomorrow...

red well done on the bag ? that?s good timing there and your smile says it all in that first pic! I have a Somerset tote in oak and as MrsCB says the colour goes with everything. I?m loving it with all the brights around this summer. In a way I think it grounds things and makes outfits look a bit more grown up. If you do become hooked on £££ bags, at least you won?t be judged here!

New jobs for bloss and potentially for pickled? A&W ladies are talented as well as stylish Smile Glad to hear your new job is going well cleverything.

So sorry about the pox LTEC - I remember the frustration of being stuck at home for so long and I know you love getting out and about each day. Do you have any quiet woods near you? When DD had it once she?d perked up we went for walks in the woods during school time so we wouldn?t bump into many people. Gave us back a bit of sanity and the fresh air was much appreciated! Love your new purchases, particularly the maxi, but surprised you haven?t found a jumpsuit that works. Do you mean a wide leg one?

carciofi I am Shock and Envy at your skinny jeans wearing a mere few days after giving birth. Well done you but don?t be too hard on yourself about the tummy!

Hope the valuation goes well apuski

Hello to everyone else and congratulations if you managed to get through this whole post!

blossoming · 16/06/2011 21:24

Oh wow red, I love your photo! You remind me of when I was little and used to sleep with my new shoes!

OP posts:
carciofi · 16/06/2011 21:37

Fritzi, you are too kind! I think you posted a photo of yourself in a jumpsuit and you looked amazing.
Bloss, very well done on the job.
I am wearing a spanx camisole (secret weapon) to suck it in. I have just reread my post, shame I cannot seem to write any more (I happy Blush).
I read somewhere that the Mulberry sale starts tomorrow.
I am off to order babygros and then go to bed, night all.

blossoming · 16/06/2011 22:01

Thanks everyone on your congrats. Love the sound of a stylish teacher blog mrsjuan, you could post photos too!

I am watching The Good Girl. The only JenAn film where she doesn't act like Rachel.

Fleecy · 16/06/2011 23:00

Exciting! Have just spent a very enjoyable hour browsing the Mr Porter sale and have ordered DH four pairs of jeans and two shirts - on his credit card obviously Grin

He is not happy with £10 delivery but decided if it saved him a trip into town it was worth it!

Night all!

Morning. DS1 awake until 10.30pm last night so you can imagine what it was like trying to wake him up this morning - hard work! Thanks for all your comforting words about Dad - we'll just see what the consultant says (WAN may well end up PM then you so thank you for your kind offer) and try and calm my Mum down in the meantime....

NY how is DD today, better I hope?
Fleecy you really did looked good in that pic! I'd be happy loooking like that in a jumpsuit without a baby bump!
Apuslki good luck with the estate agents today.
Red loved your pic and your bag.

LTEC sorry about DC being ill. Loved your new maxi - gorgeous colours in it. I liked the Reiss dress best too.
Bloss great job news. Will miss your daytime posts on here tho!
Carciofi you sound so relaxed and content - its lovely. Great re the jeans too!

DS's lion suit arrived - its so cute! When he stands still for more than 5 seconds I will post a pic! Performance is next week so I still have a week of him practicing his lion roars! Sigh.
Ordered the P8 white dress but made the classic error of putting it into basket and then getting distracted with making boys dinner etc and then they all sold out online (in P8 and Debenhams) so went for a 12 and will hope for the best.

School summer party this evening from 5 til 8pm - forecast is heavy rain - its going to be grim!

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2011 07:51

Fleecy you look amazing in that. Great legs.

Carciofi wow at skinny jeans, good one!

Fritzi don't get the doubts! You would fab in a jumpsuit. Did you post a pic here

Quick one as dh doing breakfast....

redllamayellowllama · 17/06/2011 08:00

Just popping in to wish everyone a happy weekend. MiL is very kindly on her way over to look after DD for the day.

Emo how are you feeling today?!

Good luck with EAs today Apuski.

Have fun with DH tonight Fritzi and hope you have a lovely lunch tomorrow Bloss. Hope you cope in the rain this afternoon Ollie. Everyone else, enjoy yourselves whatever it is you happen to be doing.

Emo76 · 17/06/2011 08:11

Quick report in from me: Ascot was good fun, not the best weather but my clients/colleagues are good company, of course I drank far too much, came away £60 up from only two races as I got distracted by eating and drinking - towards the watermelon alexa maybe! There were some lovely outfits there and some right horrors, felt good in what I wore - the Hobbs heels are ever so comfortable Albini square courts NOW A REAL BARGAIN!
I am recovering at desk with coffee and bacon sandwich.

blossoming · 17/06/2011 08:27

I remember those bacon sandwich/black coffee Fridays when I worked in London emo. Glad you had a good day.
Weather is okayish here, but forecast is bad. I threatened to sell my P8 maxi yesterday as the occasions it was for have been washed out. DH was set against the idea though, and said he'd take me out in again soon.
Tomorrow will be Agnes. And I am excitedly going to do some thong shopping! It's been a long time, but all my new trousers, agnes, capris, modern boots, require them. Have I really been in jeans for 7 years? Apart from the 4 years of sweaty bettty yoga trousers Blush. Can you tell I'm excited to be going back to work!!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 17/06/2011 09:10

Bloss so exciting well done!

This weather is making me look at AW stuff already. And where is the NaP sale?! Wish it would hurry up.

ApuskiDusky · 17/06/2011 09:36

Finally got the letter through saying that DH's mole wasn't malignant! I hope it all works a bit faster when there is something wrong. But still big relief.

1 1/2 hours until first EA >

wideawakenurse · 17/06/2011 10:00

Me too Marsha. I keep thinking about cashmere scarves and boots.

Am hoping that I am pregnant this winter, mostly as an excuse that the only real investment buys I can indulge in are footwear and accessories. Hello Belstaff and Brora. Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2011 10:14

Exactly WAN. I want a luxurious shorter coat that looks a million dollars. I can't bear another year with the VB and MJ longer ones that are too big.

And some dark bitter chocolate, semi-gloss riding boots. (not asking for much huh?).

Good good luck on ttcing. Stylish W&A pg are making me feel like another too.

Fleecy · 17/06/2011 10:46

That's excellent news apuski - some things are more important than a tidy house, even with EAs on the way!

Hey marsha good to see you again. If you find some of those riding boots, please share as I would like a pair too Grin

emo glad you have fun. Feel a little wistful at the memory of bacon rolls on Fridays after a big night on Thursday. We always used to feel it better to have our hungover time at work on Friday than to waste valuable weekends...

Right, the MW sale order arrived and I am keeping the Hunters here as they're a lovely colour and very slimming! Am also keeping a DKNY cozy - it's a bit more red than it looks in the pictures and it's not a colour I'd usually wear but Kettlewell website said it would work on a spring and it does. I know ltec and others didn't get on with the cozy but I've had a play around and looked at the 'ways to wear it' videos on the DKNY site and it's going to get a lot of use for bf this winter! Am also keeping a charcoal AV tank. Returning some jewellery as it didn't look right on and am also, very sadly, returning this coat as the 10 is too big even now and I can do all the buttons up over my bump which means it will swamp me come winter. It's a shame because it's a lovely coat and a great colour. I don't do black coats so struggle sometimes with a 'go with everything' and tend to just wear cream but this would have been more stain resistant. Oh well!

blossoming · 17/06/2011 11:23

Weather is now tres miserable. Came back from toddler group frozen and starving as usual. Just had scrambled egg and smoked salmon as brunch!

A/W already. How depressing marsha. like the sound of the imaginary boots! Agree NAP are behind on their sale. fleecy, I loved those hunters. I find them slimming too. Great haul but shame about the coat.

All the best this afternoon apuski, and big collective a&w sigh of relief for your dh.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 17/06/2011 11:53

Oh no don't be depressed Bloss! I always love the colours etc of AW.

If I call it pre-season will that help Grin

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2011 11:56

Lovely stuff Fleecy! The colours will look fab.

blossoming · 17/06/2011 12:08

Do we think every wardrobe should have a white racer back tank. Love this outfit.

OP posts:
blossoming · 17/06/2011 12:15

I'm on a blazer quest now!
What do we think of sequin blazers? and
zara version of nap, shame its navy.
DH has been away this week and I need a nudge downstairs to make his favourite chocolate biscuit cake (he would hate to have something in common with Wills though!).

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 17/06/2011 12:33

I saw that Zara sequin number on the website too Bloss - is it like the P8 one LTEC got last year? My friend has one a bit like it and she wears it a lot - looks great with skinny jeans and heels. I'm sure I read on another thread that Primark has a great navy sequin jacket in store at the moment Shock

Thats great news about DH Apuski.

Am feeling really listless - I need to get stuck into something like start my holiday packing list (3 weeks today)!

blossoming · 17/06/2011 12:47

ollie, I need to be super organised for next year. Where do you get your lovely stationery from?
