Red ( Vin) that pharmacy were crap with dd's photo. I paid for 3 eventually, 1 in Snappy Snaps, one in that pharmacy and one in a place opposite the passport office in town when the first two were refused!

Your post made me Smile Ollie though I too agree with Plum. I wouldn't be unhappy though if dp came home and asked what I'd like from his menu of services before he cooked dinner.

Can I be your friend too Roma? I wear shorts too - all the time in summer as I like to take every opportunity to get my legs bronzed.

Tracey no surprise that I like all the things you linked to last night.

TheAllNewOoooh · 03/02/2011 17:22

MM whereabouts are you based? Another SE London lady?

Do Tods really last for years - I would have thought those little nub things would wear down in seconds? There are some marked down on the Yoox site (still £££ though).

I am going into Regent st tonight to spend my £5 Liberty voucher (ha! will end up spending way more) - will check out Zara and maybe Uniqlo. I find that J+ sizing is a bit weird (jackets small, trews on the large size) so best to check out in RL.

Bonsoir · 03/02/2011 17:29

florence - I've had loads of Tod's over the years, and TBH most of them have still been going strong when they have outlived the fashions! They are some of the best value high-end shoes on the market - über-comfortable, smart and long-lasting.

carciofi · 03/02/2011 18:12

OWW - wow!

NY, I forgot to say congratulations on the job offers and I think it was your birthday? Belated happy birthday.

Vin, well done on the interview. Your outfit sounds great.

Bloss, it is a long list but I probably won't get half of it! I am still very tempted by the Mulberry Lily bag. And now Tods as well. :)

Roma, great photo!

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 18:14

Thank MM, Vin, Roary and Oooh, have taken combined advice and done my own!

Oooh, it would appear that no-one shops in the Blackheath Whistles as they always have everything in stock. Go armed with a Glamour magazine for your discount!

Your morning sounds like a scene from the Mad Men cutting room floor, OWW. As a very classy bird, I've just booked this for my best friend's hen do. We're kinaesthetic learners, see? Grin

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 18:24

You must be near me Red. And yes Ooh. I'm just down the road from Vin.

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 18:27

This really took my fancy today, but will never work with my ample bosom. Will so done else buy it please, it is sooo pretty. Incidentally, MM, how did you used to do discreet public feeding when wearing a normal bra? Am very tempted to get myself to JL and get lifted.

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 18:29

I'm on one of the roads off of Wcbe Pk Rd, nearer to the park.

Quick post to report back on my maxi purchase - here. Unfortunately it is a no. I soooo wanted to love it, but I have to face facts. On her - bohemian, Helena Christensen vibe.....on me, NY goes out in her nightie! I also think that she must have it pinned around the back to give her that shape at the top. I bought a 10 and it looked a bit more shapeless than that around the top, and I am really not a 8.

So back it goes! I have, however narrowed by large collection of 'formalwear' down to 4 possible contenders for this posh do coming up, and I will try them on next week and ask for votes Grin

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 20:04

I really like that Whistles top too Red but wouldn't work on me either.

Re the discrete feeding I often think women trying to be discrete end up drawing more attention to themselves! I once saw a poor love with one of those kite style things to cover the LO with and everyone was staring. Anyway, I always wear/wore a scarf and kind of lowered the bra and pulled my top down to cover most of the boob and leave the important bit out. Dd was very keen on exposing me as often as possible though. Tbh once you get the hang of it it's no harder than in a bfing bra. You just need to decide how to get the boob out before you attempt it in public! Grin

monkeysmama · 03/02/2011 20:04

Oh no NY I thought it was going to be stunning on you.

traceybath · 03/02/2011 20:13

MM I was the same - a scarf and just pulled bra down - I also ditched feeding bras pretty quickly as needed more support.

In fact have been stopped bf now for 4 months and boobs seem if anything to be getting bigger - honestly I really don't like it and like you MM don't do low tops as small/blonde and busty can so easily tip into Dolly P territory.

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 20:15

I'm not too shy when it comes to whipping them out, thought you may have developed some kind of patented manoeuvre (I find the good thing about having larger breasts is that they, um, flop around a fair bit so accommodate different positions Blush). I may well take myself off for a fitting tomorrow to get things seen to. A size smaller, you say?

Have seen the 'hooter hiders' and completely agree. Saw a perfectly nice looking man in Costa last week wafting about muslins like he was a bull fighter in an attempt to give his flustered wife some privacy. Made it so much worse. My DH? Muttered 'twat' under his breath (something of a loveable misanthrope) and continued to ignore us as I fed DD.

Romanholiday · 03/02/2011 20:22

NY you've probably had the bug already - I expect it wasn't IBS at all.

MM I will add you, but you will be horrified at my milky whiteness, I'm a factor 50 girl! Tbh all those years in Italy put me off - Roman ladies really do have dreadful leathery skin.

Thank you for all your lovely compliments. My legs are my asset - I inherited great ankles from my granny and mum. I am succumbing to veins too though these days.

OWW it's probably not bad advice (though I deffo wouldn't get it on in the kitchen with the kids watching telly Hmm. But have you ever tried just doing everything as nicely as possible for your dh, not just sex, but everything, even for a day? My experience is that he instantly becomes the perfect husband. Like karma or something. So maybe worth a go. And it sounds like there's lots of homework Wink.

I have had 6 pairs of Tods. The flats with proper soles wear brilliantly, as do the other ordinary shoes (I've got some wonderful gold wedge sandals and some towering python-skin stilettos). The ones with the little bobbles set in the leather don't deal very well with pavement pounding, they wear out at the back. I had a clever cobbler in Rome who - when they had reached the point of no return in their normal state - shaved off some bobbles and put a little heel on in a coordinating colour, which gave them another season, if not quite the same. But I'm surprised to hear that anyone's had a different experience. I've had 3 pairs that have worn down pretty fast. The leather keeps its shape though, and I love them. Though it was better in the days that they were 300,000l (£100 Sad)

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 20:36

Roma, the Charlotte Mann print arrived today and it is exquisite. I love it. Thank you so much for drawing my attention to it.

PlumSykes · 03/02/2011 20:36

Roman, may I see your pics, please?

hello all,

Zembo I am so sad to read your news and so very cross that they didn't pick this up before. I hope Looby and Roary's assurances on future conceptions has at least provided some reassurance but oh my goodness. Having said that, it's horrible to imagine what could have happened so thank goodness you are safe.

NY - congrats on both job offers!

Roma ? wow lady ? your legs are fabulous! And you have made me cry with laughter with your autocheck link. Thank you.

Those that know me on the thread will be surprised to hear I am banning myself from spending for a little while. We have just seen a house which we are probably going to put an offer on...so I have to be wise rather than avid. I hope it will be o.k. to still pop in from time to time but please shout at me if I do any NAP links Wink

loobylu3 · 03/02/2011 21:05

NY- I agree with roman-I'm sure you had a mild version of DD's gastroenteritis the other day.

Roman- you have amazing, long, slim legs!

vin- job sounds interesting but as you say a big step from the legal career. Hope this career change will be okay with you taking on a new flat and all because the NHS is not well know for dishing out huge sums to must of its employees!

red- I am v Envy of your Charlotte Mann print. I am hoping to get to JL tomorrow (if feeling recovered) and will try on the W. top you linked to- maybe you can be Envy of me then! It looks v pretty and v versatile.

I'm another one who was never too shy to feed in public. I really don't think you can see anything unless you were to wear a low cut dress and whip the boob out over the top! I didn't worry about muslins/ scarves and never had anyone looking. I tend to wear balconette bras so easier to put boob over the top :)

carciofi- can you please stop linking to gorgeous scarves! This one is gorgeous but I can't possibly afford it!
