New thread..

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 21:12

And I will be very Envy! In fact, I'm going to go to JL tomorrow too, get myself some balconette bras (reality is they will probably give me 4 breasts and I will end up buying something sturdy from Freya) and gaze longingly at the top.

Hells, exciting news about a potential new house. Fingers crossed.

carciofi · 03/02/2011 21:23

Hells, good luck with the house.

Looby, I can't buy the scarf either as really need to buy new lamps and things for the house, so fingers crossed for a good sale soon!

FritziGreenEyes · 03/02/2011 21:41

notyummy Hope DD gets better soon!

ollie That must have been a coffee morning to remember Smile. I wouldn't even know where to start with that long to-do list... Plus our kitchen has a big glass front so no cooking in underwear and "touching" while cooking Grin.

roma Gorgeous legs! And the photo is lovely, think you look really happy, thanks for sharing it.

redllama Where did you order the Ch. Mann print from? I must have missed roma's link.

vin Well done on passing first interview! Great outfit too. Love the LBD you linked to.

So many links to Bretons, I'm getting confused.

carciofi Go on and get that scarf, you now you want need it Smile.

hells Exciting news about the house. Worth saving for if it is "the one".

bloss Enjoy your date with DH tomorrow.

bonsoir Your job sounds fascinating. Any ideas for outfit yet?

marsha Fab shorts!

zembo Hope you are tucked up in bed and get all the care you need to recover! Night, night...

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 21:45

From here Fritzi, but it has since sold out unfortunately. Curse of the W&A thread.

Romanholiday · 03/02/2011 21:48

Fritzi try the V&A shop for prints.

That Autocorrect site is hilarious isn't it? I must also recommend zooborns which has a new baby animal born in a zoo somewhere in the world everyday. Very heartwarming of a morning, and something for the dcs to ooh and aah over!

Vin do think carefully over the pros and cons before you leave a job you don't like much to go and work in the NHS, which I imagine must also have its moments. Not that I would encourage staying in a job you loathe, but best to do some detailed research and soul-searching too before taking the plunge. You probably have already though, and I'll shut up now.

Zembo · 03/02/2011 21:50

Fab news on the house hells!

Thanks for all your good wishes. I'm about to embark on my second night in hosp. Last night was bad as they were doing hourly observations. Also I'm on a ward with a load of oldies with hearing probs who've been shouting at each other day and night Confused. Their visitors are even louder than they are so asked DH to bring some earplugs in for me Smile.
Anyway I passed my challenge for today; having my catheter out and walking unaided to the loo.
This thread is proving to be good company.
cakey really missing you here.
ny sorry to hear dd unwell. I've decided to send my dc up north with my parents for the weekend to give me a bit if a break should I actually make it home for then. Still rocking hospital gowns here as dh failed to bring any PJs in for me, so at least all of you can sleep well in the knowledge that you're a lot more stylish than me Smile

loobylu3 · 03/02/2011 21:56

We will both have to gaze at the website longingly then carciofi!

red- I think it has to be the W&W thread because if was available when roma linked to it 2 or 3 days ago!

Has anyone tried/ does anyone own one of these ?
It is v reduced but I'm not sure whether or not it would be flattering. What do you think?

blossoming · 03/02/2011 22:00

Keep strong zembo. Well done getting the catheter out.

OP posts:
traceybath · 03/02/2011 22:03

Zembo - catheter out is good Smile

So how have you styled your hospital gown then Wink

Glad your children will get to have fun with grandparents whilst you recover physically a bit.

And most importantly did your DH remember to bring your purse in?

notyummy · 03/02/2011 22:07

Looby- I like that tea dress, although I am sucker for that sort of thing!

hf128219 · 03/02/2011 22:08

Zembo Good news! But please rest up Smile

Hells Fantastic! We are in the same position so can understand your frugal ways!

Looby I think everything may have that ddress or similar.

notyummy · 03/02/2011 22:10

Zembo- glad you are ok and gave the catheter out. I hope the gown does up at the back!!

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 22:12

Good to hear that the catheter is out Zembo, hope you get some sleep tonight with your loud roomies Smile.

loobylu3 · 03/02/2011 22:15

zembo- well done on having the catheter out!
Hope you have had some rest today.
I spent a night in hospital after my mc and found it nearly impossible to sleep due to other people's obs/ buzzers/ lights/ older ladies chatting (they were v sweet but I really wasn't in the mood to chat much)!

Anyone else on the Brora dress? :)

Totally different style but I also like this . Can't see myself wearing it all that much- looks too revealing for work and not really a day dress.

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 22:19

I do like the look of it on the model Looby, but the colours all look a bit drab.

redllamayellowllama · 03/02/2011 22:20

The Brora dress that is, the VB colours are clearly not drab!

geordieminx · 03/02/2011 22:23

Zembo, glad you are being looked after, am loving the thought of styling the hospital gown.

Congrats on all job/interview news. I haven't been working for a couple of weeks now, but as Ds has been consrantly poorly since Xmas it's worked out ok, just hope something comes up soon.

Well I managed to miss the navy Janice as I spent too long thinking about it. I'm actually really annoyed with myself as I really like it.. Probably more so now it's sold out...bah. Although if anyone is selling one in a 14 then let me know.

Have booked holidays for late may (16 weeks today not that I'm counting) so have started major diet as I have piled on the weight over christmas Blush not helped by not working so lots of opportunities to meet with friends for cake/lunch/wine.

Am trying not to buy anything until weight is off as it's my own fault that nothing fits. Sad

Sorry for the moan, feeling very meh tonight.

((((scuttles back under the duvet)))))))

geordieminx · 03/02/2011 22:29

plum meant to say, they had the Bretons in my local Zara today, could send you one if you would like?

hf128219 · 03/02/2011 22:50

looby I can totally see that being a day dress with a cardigan/little jacket.

Feelingsensitive · 03/02/2011 22:58

Zembo - good to hear you have managed a walk about.

The Brora dress is very pretty.

Geordie - I am having the same dilemmas as you mention about weight. Really need to get rid of my porkiness. There is a size 14 Janice in navy in bentalls in Kingston if any good?

Suit shopping was harder than I thought. As I said I have been so out of touch with all this stuff. Went to Oasis as planned and not at all impressed with any of it. Mostly because I realise I am too old for most of it. I obviously havent shopped for a long time! Bought a suit reduced in price from Warehouse. I wont bother posting it as its not that exciting but it was basically a fine pinstripe skirt and jacket and then picked up a nice top in East to wear underneath. I was disappointed that most of the suits (including the more expensive brands) were made of horrible shiney material. Just looked cheap to me. I am clearly becoming more discerning with age as I was a bit Shock at the cheap looking clothes in some of the shops. I went to Kew which I normally find rather dull but bought a just above knee grey/blue skirt and a blue/green top. This is just the start of getting me out of the comfort zone of jeans Wink. Not very adventurous but my next plan is to but a cardigan/jumper to go over the blue top with the skirt. I am thinking of cream or navy. Either cross over or V-neck. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

here is the skirt

and the top

I am self conscious of my spare roll/tyre around my middle so the top would be too clingy but I liked the colour and thought it woudl be good beneath something more flattering.

Feelingsensitive · 03/02/2011 23:01

top again

Just seen second link is not working. If this wirks it's the blue/green version.

Feelingsensitive · 03/02/2011 23:03

No I give up it won't work for me. Well it's just a scoop neck greeney blue top but as I say thought it would be a good base. I am off to bed.

hf128219 · 03/02/2011 23:07

Can't see the top!

geordieminx · 03/02/2011 23:18

Oooh feelingsenstive do they do mail order? Will give them a ring tomorrow.

Re porkiness, have given myself a target of 2 stone / hopefully 11 weeks but have 16. Am back to zumba tomorrow, also shredding when I can work out how to play dvd's on ps3...

macmama · 03/02/2011 23:21

zembo hope you are home soon

Go vin re interview I am sure you were ace

just got sucked into my first TV watching session in an age, Louis Theroux in Israel wasn't expecting such compelling viewing from the BBC I have to say recommend it on catch up to anyone who is interested in middle east type stuff.

working from home tomorrow, need a rest... hopefully my Lotta braids will arrive to perk me up.
