Shock Blush Shock

Poor DH is all I can say.

Bonsoir I can imagine you are very good at the coaching thing. Your advice is always so sure and clear, I'm sure that you have your clients thinking straight in no time.

I saw the lively dress in Selfridges and they had plenty in stock but it is online at good old John Lewis.

The assistant in Selfridges had this horse print dress on which looked lovely but I wondered if it would be too recognisable on the street IYKWIM.

Roary I WANT TWEEDY SHORTS TOO!

hf128219 · 03/02/2011 15:49

Geordie Size up in Navy - thinner material. Size down (or nornal size) in stripey.

TheAllNewOoooh · 03/02/2011 15:49

Geordie I agree with HF - the navy hangs better when it's slightly loose.

OllieWollieWoo · 03/02/2011 15:52

Agree entirely Plum. Felt a bit Hmm about it all tbh - tho did like the idea of telling MIL I needed her to have the kids as DH and I were away on a sex hliday! Imagine her face!

Bonsoir · 03/02/2011 15:58

TheAllNewOooh - LOL, I am not of a psychoanalytical persuasion. But I think one of the very hardest things about coaching is judging the speed at which the person you are working with is taking things on board - especially with cultural issues. Solutions can seem crystal clear/blindingly obvious, but it takes some people so long to get rid of their engrained habits.

macmama · 03/02/2011 15:59

Interesting OWW.

I think this is all based on the assumption that we all fancy our men in the first place and actually enjoy such shenanigans rather than just doing this out of some sort of desperation to hold on to them...

Other than the fact that DH is away long term at the moment I think the fly in our ointment implementing such guidance would be the sheer volume of traffic we have through the house (and how many other people hold sets of keys!)

I always warn houseguests NOT to wander around in their underwear unless they want to be most unpleasantly surprised by sudden visitors Shock

AllBuggiedOut · 03/02/2011 16:04

roary and oooh can't link as posting from phone, but try Mango at Asos for shorts. I have wool mix tweed, and wool mix check are lovely too. Couldn't justify both, but the tweed ones have been a good buy.

pickledsiblings · 03/02/2011 16:07

ABO, how was Selfridges?

traceybath · 03/02/2011 16:16

I'm with Plum on the sex stuff [that sounds rather dodgy doesn't it?]

Honestly - children watching tv whilst their parents get it on in the kitchen - whatever next Wink

PlumSykes · 03/02/2011 16:18

Ooooh, I much prefer the lively dress to the horse one.

PlumSykes · 03/02/2011 16:20

pickled, afraid I have no knowledge of Whitchurch school issues. I don't live far from there, but I don't know much about the local schools tbh.

blossoming · 03/02/2011 16:22

Haven't caught up yet, only been gone a few hours! But wanted to say pickled that Whitchurch is a nice area of Cardiff. DC2's therapy centre was there. There's also a large oncology department in the hospital there and a mental health unit/hospital too. It's on the way out of Cardiff, next to the M4 and A470.
Right, back to see what ollie's been up to.

macmama · 03/02/2011 16:24

I think the sex advice assumes a lot of child-free (and ?hangers on? free) time!

not exactly real life for most of us I suspect.

pickledsiblings · 03/02/2011 16:27

Thanks Plum and Bloss. Friend lives there and is currently distressed about the upcoming closure of her DS's well regarded primary school. Related article here if you are interested. She feels moved to do something in opposition but has no idea where to start.

OllieWollieWoo · 03/02/2011 16:34

The want to versus ought to question was raised. Someone pointed out that if her DH remembered her bday or brought her the occasional diamond gift, she would probably 'want to' with him a lot more.

blossoming · 03/02/2011 16:36

Okay have caught up.
roman, I think it was better when I didn't know how gorgeous your legs were! And you're shredding now too? Not fair!!

ollie, can't believe you said hj!!!

Poor DD has some sort of vomiting bug since last night at midnight. White as a sheet. Last night she kept on apologising for getting me up!! Currently esconced on the sofa watching Nanny MacPhee and the Big Bang. Sounds awful, but my main thought at the moment is 'god I hope I don't get it!' - DH in another country and no family anywhere close...I could do without having to look after her whilst really ill myself. One night spent reading stories on the loo was enough!

Last word from me on this - Vin - I should point out that the babies and toddlers were in a seperate room being cared for by child minders! No sex talk for them!!!!

notyummy - poor DD - and yes, hope you don't succomb too.

blossoming · 03/02/2011 16:48

pickled, must be very distressing for your friend. As the article said there is an unprecedented rise in number of parents choosing Welsh medium education for their children. So the welsh schools need more space and the English schools, less. Very sad when schools close. Our primary is closing too, and being integrated into the secondary school with the CoE primary to form a Lifelong Learning centre. Change is hard.

OWW You have made me LOL.

I can just picture the scene. Cue Muumy calling through to the sitting room

'Darling, why don't you watch another episode of Peppa Pig.

I'm just in the kitchen with daddy - attending to the sausage supper. It wont be a jiffy.'

Grin
