New thread..

OP posts:
bunnymother · 10/02/2011 20:37

Bloss - was thinking of you this morning, and hoping that today would be bearable for you - poss bittersweet? Hope you had a few moments To think about your DD that made you smile. Re skinny cargoes, I just bought some!! I just got the Uniqlo skinny cargoes in olive. I think they run true to size (ie size 10 is still too small for me, but bought them anyway - something to look forward to!). Their skinny straight jeans are vanity sized - I wear size 27 waist although am a size 12 at the mo' (Topshop Marthas confirmed it this morning - I have a weigh (ha ha ha) to go yet)

notyummy - poor darling little yummy!!!

As you can prob all tell, twins keep me up in the night and Delie runs me around during the day. Am tired but the twins are slowing sleeping for longer in the night . Sorry, haven't read thread, but waving to you all!!!

roary · 10/02/2011 20:40

NY i was wondering when there was no update this am...poor, poor you. IT's awful when littlies are unwell but hopefully they will sort it this time :(

carciofi · 10/02/2011 20:45

Bloss, it must have been a hard day for you. It is so unfair.

I like your shopping list.

NY, sorry your DD is ill again.

MM, the only thing I remember about Doolin is that it is near the cliffs of Moher so not very helpful, sorry. I don't know Clare at all. Maybe Verity knows more?

Zembo · 10/02/2011 20:46

Oh NY really sorry to hear about your DD. That's really hard for all of you. I hope the iv antibiotics kick in quickly if she needs them, and hope the ward staff are being brilliant.

Bloss been thinking about you lots today. Like the gap cargos, they'd look great with those shoes.

AntPants1 · 10/02/2011 20:51

NY I really hope your DD feels better soon.

Zembo · 10/02/2011 20:59

NY have PMd you

mrsjuan · 10/02/2011 21:11

Oh no NY hope she gets better very soon.

Bloss I'm glad you made a cake. I'm so so sorry that today isn't the occasion it should be though. Those cargos and shoes look great. Alas the pockets would be my nemesis but they'll look fab on you.

I like the gap blazer - it may be a contender. Like the top they've put it with too.

Right -listen up warehouse fans. I went in today but had DD with me without pushchair and without snacks which was a silly idea. I didn't get a chance to do my required level of posturing so didn't purchase but on initial inspection:

this could be good

this is far too long and frumpy on me

this is a strange thing but a beautiful colour

I might try these

bird dress is nice but fairly clingtastic around the middle on me anyway

lots of other lovely things. Will try to return more prepared soon!

blossoming · 10/02/2011 21:17

Thanks verity, bunny, zemboand carciofi. I feel better now. I've been feeling a little strange since Monday because of the unfriendly, disinterested vibe I got in the school. But I really am surrounded by lovely people and I have, ahem, ordered the Gap cargos (free delivery, returns). I have shredded and poured a glass of wine.

notyummy, I'm so sorry you're back in hospital. Although it's the best place for her. Big hugs.

loobylu3 · 10/02/2011 21:29

bloss- today must have been hard for you and your DH too of course. I'm pleased you are feeling a little better now.

NY- poor DD. I do hope the IV abx work better this time.

I did order the odd molly dress last night so will let you know how I get on :)

pickledsiblings · 10/02/2011 21:42

NY so sorry to hear that DD is still poorly. You must be shattered. I hope your parents are still there to give you the support you need.

MrsJ, I like the look of the wavey stripe, and the maxi version of it too.

RipMacWinkle · 10/02/2011 22:11

bloss as a semi-lurker, just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you today. I raise my cup of tea to you and your DD.

OllieWollieWoo · 10/02/2011 22:13

NY - sorry to hear about DD. Hope you both have a restful night x

MrsJuan - Loved your Warehouse links. Understand your shopping with DD situation - popped into the city with DS2 yesterday and may have told him we were just going to the dept store (OWW raises eyes skyward and whistles). Passed H&M on way back to the car so naturally went to walk in. DS reacts by saying (loudly) ""but Mummy, I didnt say we could go in here and you said just one shop". Suitable chastised, we left and went back to the car!

I really like this Mint Velvet outfit - blouse with the grey peg leg trousers here

RipMacWinkle · 10/02/2011 22:15

Also MrsJuan I think you are a fellow shortie (or have I got that wrong) I think that bird dress is lovely, how was it on length?

I'm keen to find some lovely dresses I could perhaps wear to work in spring/summer. After years (and years!) in trouser suits, I'm embracing skirts and dresses. Particularly dresses. One piece is the way forward. Work in a corporate but not client facing environment. Surrounded by stylish (but when quizzed, very avid!!) ladies.

Am working my way backwards through links but have to discount lots of stuff on length or colours. Credit card is itching to be used though Grin

blossoming · 10/02/2011 22:24

Thank you rip.

That is a nice outfit ollie.

I started compiling a SS11 shopping list and it has turned into a bit of a general lust list. I've already sailed through my budget for February but I can drool dream can't I?

So here goes:

Some Chie Mihara wedge sandals

Milly colour block dress but it so needs a belt. I still heart it even though it is viscose...

This Celine shopper.

Pickled's white leather jacket.

At last some Ash High Tops.

Cropped cardie in this print when it is out. So pretty - saw it in a magazine with the most delicious cream skirt. (Obviously ideal for the mother of a 14 month old Hmm).

Have loved this scarf for weeks. this scarf.

Now if I could just hit the lottery! Not too much to ask surely?

What's on your lust lists?

redllamayellowllama · 10/02/2011 22:34

Glad to hear your day is ending on a good note Bloss. You've been on my mind all day. Love the look of the skinny cargos.

Sorry to hear about DD, NY and hope she gets the treatment to get better asap.

Made the most of a DD-only day and popped to the shops. Tried on Fleecy's bird dress, but made me look too busty and too pot-bellied (probably because I am) in equal measure. Bought the navy Breton in h&m which i can already see getting lots of wear.

Am going to take myself to see Never Let Me Go tomorrow with DD. Loved the book and wondering if it's a good idea to see the film, but it is meant to be brilliant.

VerityBrulee · 10/02/2011 22:50

About to fall into bed, so haven't had time to click on the many, many links today. Everyones getting into the S/S frame of mind Smile

Hope the day wasn't too bad for you Bloss. Life is just so damn unfair. Glad you made a cake, it's still her birthday so good to celebrate her life (((hugs)))

NY I can't believe dd is back in hospital. You must be exhausted. As others have said she's in the best place, take care of yourself.

MM I know Clare well, we have a friend there who we visit regularly. There's a lovely pet farm near the Cliffs of Moher and an aquarium in Lahinch, and pony-riding nearby, and the beaches are amazing, and there is the most amazing little perfumary in the middle of the Burren that seems as if it was lifted from Provence and dropped into the middle of the wild Clare countryside. So plenty to keep dd occupied for a weekend Smile

Carciofi love the names, really pretty

Vin go for the law job, buy a new suit Smile

Night night!

DTI10 · 10/02/2011 22:53

Reine - yes, I am still around. Thank you for thinking of me. Very busy at work.

Zembo - hope you are still resting and taking good care of yourself.

ny - you must be exhausted. Take care.

Bloss - thinking of you getting through today.

No time to comment on links and posts. I will try and keep up but yet again the thread is rushing to 900 posts.

Wishing everyone a good Friday.

VerityBrulee · 10/02/2011 22:54

Oh Plum loved to hear about your tortoise, something to smile about!

Fritzi holidays never seem to turn out as planned, hopefully in years to come you'll laugh when you think about it. Hope you are getting lots for time to read.

And OWW dying to hear about the house tomorrow. Maybe dh will fall for it and you'll get it for a knock-down price!

monkeysmama · 10/02/2011 23:37

Good evening ladies

I am following my other passion (politics Grin) and am up watching events in Egypt.

Going to catch up during a lull in reporting.

monkeysmama · 11/02/2011 00:01

Bloss I've been thinking of you all day and have spent even more of my day than usual hugging my dd. Life is so fragile and unfair. I hope you've done whatever you needed to to get through the day in the best way for you and your gang.

Yummy hope your dd is ok. I really feel for you.

Zembo how you doing lovely?

My shopping hasn't been a great success. Apart from this snakeskin scarf and this top all has gone back. I sized up in the top and it's very flattering. Will look good with high waisted trousers and vest underneath. Am going to try it this weekend with a black heat tech underneath and high waisted Nudies. The draped silk dress will look fantastic on those of you who are a bit smaller than me. It looks a lot dearer than it is imo and will be a great dress for summer / holidays.

New Look is the place to go if you have an hour to spare. Loads of bargainous stuff but you have to look everywhere. I got a bright blue dress from the tall section for £20 which looks exactly like one I saw in which was v exxy in an Italian magazine Grin (can't recall name of brand) and some navy shorts from the kids' section.

Bloss the M&S costume made me look saggy and bad and goes back but 'nuff love (as we say round here Grin) to you for suggesting it as I ordered the maxi that matches too and have finally found a long dress that fits and suits me! Thank you my fashion fairy!

A bit Hmm as dp came home with a Selfridge's bag that he hid tonight. We never celebrate Valentine's but think he may now've started and his present is delayed til Monday (and is only a sale Ralph Lauren top I think he might not like) I did get him a card and some bits - his favourite chocolates, things from dd. I feel bad. Maybe I will find something and get the hotel (we are away til Tuesday) to get it for me. Can one do that?

Right belle, I may be gone for a few days or bit more Off away tomorrow and need a bit of a break from everything I think. I feel like I'm walking stooped from the weight of the world atm.

Night all, happy shopping and most importantly good health to the LOs.

Annie my MN friends on FB get to see the real me Grin.

blossoming · 11/02/2011 08:14

Morning everyone.
Thanks again for all your support yesterday.

What a shame about the swimming costume monkeysmama. But I saw the matching dress and thought it looked good.

Today I am venturing to 'you & me' toddler group, with my nephew also in tow, and my mother. My nephew is starting pre-school after half term and my sister wants him to see the place beforehand. It's the same place and same people. Think I'll be tearing my hair out come lunchtime.

Hope things are settling notyummy.

Hope everyone else is okay, and have good Fridays all.
