Just catching up(couldn't get back to sleep post feed)

zembo love the feather necklace(sorry bird phobics MM and Tracey !)

the warehouse dresses are beautiful..am particularly tempted by the silky one.I have the blue cowl and love it..am panicking now it may not be that flattering if skinny looby finds it fattening!

so glad you're blogging again plum ..you have great syle in your writing too!

seeing the a and w girls on tuesday was a lovely treat.loved seeing all the bubs again too and great to meet carciofi though Shock at gorgeous tidy bump..I was like a ship in full sail at the same point with dd2!

as usual my westfield purchases were a bit dreary..cinema tickets and hairdye(must sort out pre MOAM Blush ) but did pick up some great bretons(13 pounds each) in uniqlo..cotton lovely and thick and lots of colourways so anyone still searching might be worth a punt.the amor luxe from asos definitely the nicest material so far but cut didn't suit.

dolce I have previously bought lovely white fitted shirts from uniqlo very cheaply so if you are looking for everyday/toddler resistant.Lorraine Pascale rocks that look beautifully but then she is rather beautiful Envy

apuski sorry you are stressing about DS.I have worn glasses for ever and never had teasing about it.my dd's recent op was an eye one and she coped brilliantly so please feel free to pm me if you are concerned re surgery.

hunky dentists Grin whatever next..where were they when I was at dental school!

are you coming to MOAM MM ?

are you still around dt ?

is esher away on hols..wishing you sunny times.

Morning all - I have been enjoying the lovely links! Glad that others are appreciating what Warehouse and Dotty Ps have to offer - I have been buying from them for a while and have always found stuff I liked in there. Particularly dresses for some reason - not so much trousers/tops. I think they cut well for my body shape. Not necessarily top quality, but I think reasonable enough for the price.

Poor DD is still struggling a bit. Her temperature seems under control and for most of the day she seems ok, but unless she is medicated with full doses of paracetomal and ibuprofen, the pain from the pleurisy is really distressing her and effects her breathing. My mumj is taking her back to the Gps today so they can double check her chest to make sure there is nothing that has been missed. This is the longest (one week) she has ever been off school/nursery/daycare - even last year when she was admitted to hospital, she was completely ok by 5 days later.

I enjoyed your blog Plum.

Waves to Roma, LTEC and Esher.

HF - I meant to say in reply to your post about a friend of yours being on the same trip overseas that DH was on last week - what a small world!! DH quite enjoyed it I think - chance to get away as much as anything else. He went to the opera (and decided that one trip is enough for him Grin) and I think spent most of the rest of the leisure time 'networking' whilst drinking a variety of continental beers and shots... I saw on your FB page that the have Chateau R as a friend - have you been? It is INCREDIBLE!

carciofi · 10/02/2011 08:25

Reine, I doubt you were ever big even when pregnant, you have a perfect figure. I might give in today and start wearing maternity jeans, regular clothes are getting a bit uncomfortable now. DD says sorry again for pushing your baby over!

Looby, that Odd Molly dress is gorgeous. I used to walk past that shop a lot when DD was a baby but never made it in.

What is on your IO list, Bloss? Stripes, perchance? Wink

Tracey, I saw your Anya Hindmarch bag on another thread, it is lovely.

Our new bed arrives this morning, yahoo! We have been sleeping on the floor since we moved in and it is not exactly comfortable.

Zembo, hope you are on the up. I like the necklaces and belt.

Llama, good luck with the job application. I would lower the reserve.

notyummy · 10/02/2011 08:27

Looby - I was also a bit puzzled about the styling of that frock. If I was trying to understand it I would say they were channelling the Land Girls/Helena Bonham Carter vibe.... Hmm

monkeysmama · 10/02/2011 08:37

Yummy I was wondering how your dd was - hope the dr gives her the thumbs up.

I am waiting for a few deliveries today - Warehouse (does make me Smile that most of my purchases have been linked to already), M&S, Figleaves and some bits from My Wardrobe for dp which I think aren't going to fit.

My dd has started to get really fussy about clothes. She has always refused to wear pyjamas that don't match but now she's started refusing to take them off Hmm. Yesterday our only journeys out were from my mum's home and to the corner shop so it wasn't a major problem & I let her assert her independence. She accessorised her pink stripey pjs with a Primarni white rose kaftan, a Plastisock blue & yellow skater skirt, a red hat of my mum's, a revolting pink sparkly handbag and red Hunters. Who knows what our neighbours must think. My best friends from Italy are coming over in two weeks and they already question some of my parenting decisions so must try harder Grin.

Carciofi we've been invited to go to Doolin in Co Clare in October for a friend's 40th. Do you know it (I do realise being from a place doesn't mean you know every village!) We'd be the only ones with LOs though and I wonder if there is anything for kids to do there?

traceybath · 10/02/2011 08:47

MM - DD is incredibly spirited and to go and pick up DS1 from school yesterday she put her brother's dressing gown on over her clothes with a lilac knitted hat. Luckily DH was at home so she stayed with him as I just couldn't face the battle to re-dress her appropriately.

Bea also adores her wellies and shows everyone her boots Smile

Dreadful night with Bea up coughing for most of it so feel exhausted so quiet day of laundry today.

MM - can't wait to hear how your warehouse deliveries turn out.

PlumSykes · 10/02/2011 08:57

Oh Tracey, why not curl up with the Cazalets while B is sleeping?

monkeysmama · 10/02/2011 09:20

I'm a bad girl. Have just placed a H&M order. Well, it is all basics and mainly for dd so I think I can be excused.

AntPants1 · 10/02/2011 09:24

Hello! Have only been able to lurk for the last few days as still adjusting to being back at work. All seems fine but I am just so tired in the evenings. It's been a long time since I've used my brain!

Anyhow I have imposed buying ban for this month as I really need to get my finances sorted and everything is a bit tight. However I have a sort of list of things I might buy once the ban is lifted...

Top from Karen Millen. www.karenmillen.com/Smudge-print-t-shirt/Tops/karenmillen/fcp-product/903000055492. it's lovely on but I am wondering whether I will still want to wear such dark colours when it's warm enough to get my arms out.....still I have a couple of weeks to ponder and see if I still love!

This dress fro Jigsaw www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001254/J12463/womens/dresses/lyocell-jersey-wrap-dress I know I know I slated jigsaw but I think this dress might be rather lovely

This top from Kew www.kew-online.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/t-shirts-&-tops/Cotton-Voile-Fan-Top/99902473 I think it might go well with my white straight legs

This shirt from whistles www.whistles.co.uk/fcp/categorylist/dept/Tops?resetFilters=true#ID=id_903000055953

Bird phobics look away now but I keep looking at this shirt from warehouse...it's so pretty! www.warehouse.co.uk/swallow-print-blouse/Smart-Tops/warehouse/fcp-product/303438. Has someone linked to I before?

Have also decided that I have a gap in my wardrobe for some slim cut black trousers. I think gap might be the place to head.

Bloss. am thinking of you on your daughter's birthday.

X

monkeysmama · 10/02/2011 09:31

Bloss thinking of you all too. I hope you have a peaceful day.

AntPants1 · 10/02/2011 09:33

lobby I love the Anna butterfly dress you linked to earlier. It's gorgeous. I am with everyone else about the frugly brown sack they have styled it with.

vin I don't think you need a suit if you don't want one. I have not worn one for years. I tend to wear dresses or skirts and I work in a very corporate environment so have to look smart. However, if you feel that a well cut suit will give you a bit of confidence go for it. Jaeger or Reiss seem to have lovely tailoring.

Who was looking for a jersey blazer? What about this from Boden? www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Coats-Jackets/Jackets/WL596/Womens-Jersey-Blazer.html?NavGroupID=2 if you use the code LN9Q you will get 15% off.

vin when is yellow day for your daughter. I have a feeling it's early march, so soon. Shall the whole thread go yellow for the day? also if you link to your just giving site again I will pass on the details to some people to see if we can make your £5k target.

traceybath · 10/02/2011 09:39

Bloss - hope you have a peaceful day.

Plum - that sounds like a plan.

Ants - love the swallow blouse. Think the jigsaw dress may not be that flattering on though.

AntPants1 · 10/02/2011 09:43

Love the blog btw plum . I am als lost without mascara. My friends and family know to worry if I go without.....totally emphased with you scrabbling down the back of the radiator looking like something from the clockwork orange...

Those of you in west London have you tried out the posh cinema at west field, the scene. I saw black swan there a couple of weeks ago and it was a really classy experience...think reclining leather arm chairs, little tables for your wine bucket and glasses and waiters...

AntPants1 · 10/02/2011 09:48

Tracy know what you mean about the jigsaw dress. It will either make me look like a trucker or like a grecian goddess. Would rather it was the later....

mm am so with you on the DD with her own ideas on what to wear. My 5.5 year old is obsessed with wearing summer dresses even in the midst of winter. The floatier the better......all I do is ensure she wears tights, a vest and a cardigan.......I tend to pick my battles when it comes to parenting and if she wants to look ridiculous so be it as long as she is warm!!!

noddyholder · 10/02/2011 09:50

some bargains here for basics

MarshaBrady · 10/02/2011 09:56

Finally I have the my-wardrobe has arrived.

See by Chloe jumper dress is really soft, warm and lovely. Although again, a bit big in smallest size. It is a big designer isn't it? (I had to send the other one back in the end, it really was just too big, sniff)

P&J silk one is ok. Not sure it is right for my sloppy life! So may go back. Does nice things for the waist...

Lovely links.

I too, am now all about the Spring stuff.

MarshaBrady · 10/02/2011 09:58

hmm sloppy writing too!, ds commanding my attention...

roary · 10/02/2011 10:01

Hi all
NY really hope little Yum is ok - poor sausage. Have been thinking about you all week but no time to post. Was DH in Europe or US? I had a bizarre and wonderful time going with the advanced course to Washington when I worked there. (Me: Can I meet you at the airport? Military: How will you find us? Me: Ummm...there will be 250 officers travelling together, I think I will manage)

Bloss shame about the job but it doesn't sound like the right fit.

That was me looking for the jersey blazer, Bloss and Ants - and indeed have been wondering about the BOden one, does anyone have it in RL? Bloss I am looking for something a bit more long line and slinky than the Barbour one. If blazers can be slinky, that is.

Looby I like your dresses. I remember you asking about colours and wondering what you were before - I'd have to say if you can pull off that nudey-pink colour my guess is you're not an autumn. It's gorgeous though!

vin Go for the law job, I reckon - safer in these economic climes and you can finance living on your own (away from DP). THerefore: suit. I'd check out Banana for reasonably priced and then wear fab shoes or blouse. I notice mismatched blacks but then I am a bit peculiar. Confused

MM The janice looked blah (if not horrible) on me, too. And I loved your orange dress the other day!

See, I have been HERE even if not posting. Honest.

pickledsiblings · 10/02/2011 10:05

There's a great navy cotton blazer on that Kookai site; I know some of you are looking for one. Thanks noddy .

roary · 10/02/2011 10:07

Ooh, Pickled, I like it!

I also want leather trousers (or pleather) and am seriously regretting not getting the TS ones before Xmas.

florenceuk · 10/02/2011 10:15

Marsha I love the SC dress - let me know if you plan on sending it back (I'm a 10!).

I don't like the cheerful linings they stick in those Boden blazers - it screams Boden to me. Last years there was one in the teen section which someone raved about which was sans spots. Gap have a "shrunken" version which might be worth considering?

monkeysmama · 10/02/2011 10:30

Thesehigh waisted kick flares look interesting for others planning on a 70s spring summer.

VerityBrulee · 10/02/2011 10:52

Sorry haven't had time to catch up, but just nipping in to say I'm thinking of you and dd today Bloss, take care of yourself Smile

blossoming · 10/02/2011 10:57

vin, I think I'm with roary on the job front. If you get the law one you could contribute in a financial way to the health service.

carciofi, I want one of the boxy sweaters. Navy probably, and a couple of tanks. I want an occasion to buy an electric blue dress for too!

Thanks for your kind thoughts. I find the birthday really hard. I should be baking cakes and planning a party not heading to the graveyard.
