annie, MM and anyone else with the lottas- do they come up on the small or large side length wise? I am a tricky size- 6.5 with one foot slightly smaller than the other too and rather narrow ankles! Any advice would be great!

Looby I'd measure your foot and email Lotta. I agree the leather is a tad fitted but I figure it'll give. Everyone I know that has any style / make of clog has worn them indoors for a while to stretch them a bit.

I have yet to compare properly with my sister's Hasbeens but tbh the price difference was the main thing for me. I always have lots of shoes on the go and will probably get another style and colour of these as well as adding some new sandals to my collection and don't want to pay masses for the clogs until I'm sure I like them.

I was at the market yesterday and today Vin so we may've passed each other by. Yellow stuff sounds lovely.

I've been thinking about you too Everything. Wishing you & ds lots of sunshine & laughter in your new place.

hellsbelles · 06/02/2011 20:47

Exhausted Nurse?what a very kind offer! I?ve actually got the navy so it probably owuldn?t work as well?but I do appreciate you offering.

What are the lottas you all mention? Sorry I?m so behind on everything.

NY ? saw the pictures on FB of your brave DD?so glad she is starting to get better.

Everything ? thinking of you in your new place?it must be daunting but exciting. New fresh start. And well done on no spend Jan!

Bloss ? by the sounds of it you will look amazing t/m and with all that prep you are bound to impress them. I hope it goes perfectly for you.

MM- you are good with your ebay bargains. I always get them wrong. I too went Space NK shopping. I had a make over with a By Terry make up artist?.it was amazing and I wanted to buy it all (though did restrict myself a little)?.but amazing eye make up was slightly wasted as I just went home afterwards (though DH thought it was lovely!)

I?m still in house buying mode (but don?t want to jinx it by saying too much ? I?m so superstitious)?however it does mean not much avidity going on here?which is a good thing really.

I've found the Lottas a little tight, but there are enough 'bits' for them to mould to my feet I think - as opposed to one big strap that needs to give in lots of places. Looby i'm not very slender of ankle and am on the first hole, so they should be more than ok for you.

Anniemac, lovely-sounding array of weekend outfits. Sorry to hear about your DH being way again for a long time and hope DD isn't too sad.

At risk of sounding like a W&A stalker here - were you in a bookshop early this afternoon Vin?

blossoming · 06/02/2011 20:52

Well I've finished all my prep. About to phone my brother and have a glass of wine. One.
Sadly the weather is worsening. Some of you may remember the kind gentleman who bought me a tin of salmon when dc2 died. I just heard his nephew drowned in the flooding in one of the villages near here. Very sad indeed.

OP posts:
carciofi · 06/02/2011 20:57

Bloss, that is awful. Good luck for tomorrow.

redllamayellowllama · 06/02/2011 21:07

We had a similar problem at our old flat everything and used to keep the heating low, wear lots of jumpers and crank the window open a bit. Also invested in one of these which helped a lot. DS also has his molars coming through a the moment; it's horrible to see them so miserable.

What terrible news Bloss, very sad indeed.

Makeover sounds lovely hells. I had one at a Laura Mercier counter once and was very bad at saying no to things I knew I wouldn't be able to use once at home. I get totally hooked by their spiel.

ABO, did you have to spend a certain amount/pay for the personal shopper service at Selfridges? My sister still struggling with a wedding dress and think she could do with it.

lackaDaisy · 06/02/2011 21:11

That's horrid bloss. The poor man.

Well, I hit the gym for the first time in a year, and was slightly shocked by how much my stamina has gone down during pregnancy. I used to be able to run for 15-20 minutes without breaking a sweat, today I got breathless in 5 minutes. Well, slowly-slowly, I guess. I've booked a few sessions with a personal trainer, as I need help to target my problem areas...I seem to have put on ALL my baby weight on my arse Blush.

Have been browsing for new trainers. I can't wear the regular trainers...too heavy, I can barely walk in them, let alone exercise. I need some lightweight trainers...any recommendations?

mrsjuan · 06/02/2011 21:14

How sad Bloss.
I looked for you when we watched the rugby. Thought I caught a glimpse of you right at the start but it was probably wishful thinking Grin
Good luck for the interview - we'll all be thinking of you.

I think I want some Lottas but my feet are quite wide - do you think a few days with socks would suffice or are they properly intrinsically narrow?

NY - hope you and DD are ok - she looks very brave and quite perky in the photo on FB so hopefully she'll be better soon.

Glad you're getting settled in everything. Hope you get the condensation sorted. Bike sounds good - will you get a little seat for DS?

blossoming · 06/02/2011 21:26

Very envious of your SpaceNk visit hells. Couldn't you just live in that shop?!
redllama, I still cringe at the £200+ I spent at Laura Mercier before my wedding. I was doing my own make up but I remember feeling physically sick at how much I'd spent and vowed not to buy make up again till it had all gone. I think I kept to it too. Now I just buy the primer and tinted moisturiser. Online!
Thanks for your good luck wishes everyone.
Well done the Irish carciofi, verity, Kildare, rufus!

I think these are the Lottas: here - now wondering if a pair in peep toe red would be the perfect addition to my new chinos. Are they comfy though or a bit stiff to walk in?

I also saw these while browsing Marni! and am a bit in love.

hellsbelles · 06/02/2011 21:30

I could Bloss! Sorry for the news about your kind friend. Very sad.

Now could someone please link to the lottas...I can't wait to see what you are all going crazy over!

hellsbelles · 06/02/2011 21:31

why thank you Florence! (xpost)...very like the hasbeens. Nice.

redllamayellowllama · 06/02/2011 21:43

Snap Bloss, was for my wedding too. In fairness, I do use the slanted brush and block eyeliner thing that the voices in my head were screaming at me not to buy at the time. But not much else...

There were already some Hasbeen a-likes in h&m yesterday, identical on top (but not leather) and rubber heels. They were £29.99, but the quality and stuff meant the extra £20 on the Lottas was money well spent.

The whole e-bay addiction thing is worsening, am currently on the hunt for SS clothes for DD , which is a foray into a whole new area of e-bay for me.

blossoming · 06/02/2011 21:49

Got those too llama! They saw me coming that day for sure!
Good luck with the house hells.

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 06/02/2011 22:13

I am using By Terry Hells. What did you get? The foundation is the best match I've ever found. I've got very yellow skin in winter Hmm and look a tad sallowy unwell whatever I do. The By Terry lifts my skin a bit and the new Body Shop cheek tint has worked miracles.

hf128219 · 06/02/2011 22:31

Bloss Good luck tomorrow! Will be thinking of you. Very sorry about your friend's nephew.

NY DD looks perky so hopefully on the mend. Your dh has just been away with a friend of ours judging by his FB pics! No tagged photos of your dh though!

Zembo Hope you are getting some rest and time to recover.

Redllama I am ebay crazy at the moment too. Just selling mind. It's amazing what people buy. Have sold 25 items in the last week, 25 items ending next week and am listing 5 a night. It is addictive! Had carrier bags ready for the charity shop and fished through them today for selling possibilities. Unearthed lots.

All funds raised going to house fund so can be less avid in support of Hells

Have bizarre things to lost from Ipods, to unworn shoes, to outboard engine and a boat!

Hope everyone had nice weekends Smile

hf128219 · 06/02/2011 22:32

To list - not lost!

AllBuggiedOut · 06/02/2011 23:10

bloss good luck for tomorrow.

llama there was no cost involved in the Selfridges personal shopper at all. There's no booking fee or deposit, and you don't have to buy anything. It's all good!

bloss or others, have you done a House of Colour (or similar) style day? I saw a friend yesterday and came away very tempted, especially after the Selfridges experience of seeing myself in shapes I wouldn't have chosen for myself. Think it's £120-ish [gulp]. But haven't really bought much SS stuff yet so thinking it could be a good time to do it.

looby the brown Acers are on their way to me right now. Will report back! And my Boden order all went back. This skirt came up big and they didn't have a size down in stock although was good with brown opaques and flat over-knee boots.

Zembo · 07/02/2011 07:06

Good luck Bloss!!!

Lottas look good, I'm going to have another look at Hasbeens today too. Also planning to get a few bits from the Brora final reductions. Have been feeling too 'off' to shop so far Shock, but determined to make progress today Smile.

Everything I've got a heated airer too. Mine's from lakeland and much raved about. I find it good for when I've got A LOT of washing to deal with, but still don't know why people rave about it quite so much. mine is this one

So, I'm still on semi bed-rest. I haven't actually managed to get dressed properly since my op as don't feel comfortable in anything due to the staples and swollen stomach Sad Hopefully DH will be taking staples out today. It'll be a while before I can wear skinnies though! Thank goodness for the lovely white company robe!

Well done on all the ebaying - I'm planning to do some when I'm a bit better too.
Have a good day everyone.
