Just a quickie - good luck Bloss!

Miss Y is coming home from hospital today, much improved and getting cheeky, although still very pale and peaky - hurray!! I gave strict instructions to DH on what clothes to bring me to the hospital yesterday and Saturday, as I had spent Friday and Friday night in a ragtag assortment of sports wear. Felt much better in a breton a Gap skinnies - courtesy of Anniemac!

Hope Zembo is feeling better.

Bloss, they were lucky to win, they didn't play well. Verity, my aunt is one of those mummies, she has three boys in Blackrock. She makes me laugh.

Lacksadaisy, I have New Balance 1063 trainers (got them for running but fine for gym work too), I find them good, light but supportive and comfy. I wouldn't buy online though, think you have to try a few pairs on.

I have been tidying my scarves (I was trying to justify another purchase but bought a load of these giant lego bricks for DD instead). Anyway, I have a Missoni silk scarf bought at the last minute in an Italian duty free and it doesn't suit me, does anyone want it? Free to a good home. I will post a photo in my profile in a minute.

NY- how wonderful to have little miss Y home today. She still looks cheerful in the pic!

zembo- I just ordered a tea dress in the Brora sale and will update when I receive it. I'm sure a bit of shopping could cheer you up :)

carciofi- I do like you scarf- you know I am eyeing up scarves at present! Seriously though, do you not want to ebay it or something?

NY dd is so cute, great that she is on the mend.

I just spent the most heartbreaking morning. Last Thursday there was the most awful accident just up the road from us. A huge, old tree was blown over in a storm at 5pm, just when people were on the way home from work. A 45 year old woman, mother of 3 dc aged 13 to 7 was trapped and despite lots of people trying to pull the tree off her she died. It was at a spot I must have walked past thousands of times, on my own, with my dc, pushing a pram. I have been really touched by this, it seems to me such a "There but for the grace of God go I" type of event. A neighbour and I decided to go to the funeral even though we didn't know her, and there were so many people from the area, lots of women with children the same ages. I can't tell you how sad it was. I'm so looking forward to collecting my dc from school today and hugging them tight.

Marsha and Red it was so sad. We all forget how fragile life is. I imagine her family would be tormented by thoughts like, what if she'd left work 5 mins earlier/later, or taken a different route. What terrible luck to have been in that place at that time. It seems that she was a lovely, bubbly person, her poor husband and children. It's so awful. Anyway please all give your dc an extra kiss today. We are all so lucky to be here and be healthy.
