New thread..

OP posts:
TheAllNewOoooh · 03/02/2011 23:31

Looby I think the Brora dress is very pretty and the little waist panel will be flattering. Oh and I've had that scarf in my basket for ages but can't quite justify the expense. Someone here said that you get 20% off Crumpet if you subscribe to Elle which might help...

My tea dress has a belt which knots at the back which I find annoying when I sit down so tend only to wear when I'm out for the day, but I couldn't tell if the Brora one is the same.

TheAllNewOoooh · 03/02/2011 23:43

llama I'm with those who favour fishing their boobs out of normal bras rather than fugly grey nursing equipment. I honestly didn't find the whole unclip-reclip thing any easier - more difficult in fact. A good plunge bra is also good for boob fishing breastfeeding. Wink

Liked the Whistles top you linked to earlier but don't think I could get away with it. I think Whistles are having a bit of a moment; I went it earlier to pick up the Lively Dress which was just begging to come home with me, and there were a lot of things I would have tried on if I'd had time. I've been a bit scared off recently by all of the chevrons - much happier in bows and horses territory .

redllamayellowllama · 04/02/2011 00:04

Oooh, I love Whistles. I also love that dress, but cannot buy one more garment that is just going to hang in my wardrobe looking pretty. I already have this one. Is it really lovely though Wink.

redllamayellowllama · 04/02/2011 00:04

? even

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 00:06

Oh that's really purdy. Love the neckline.

It is my weakness to buy things that I love but won't wear, Can we do a deal and keep each other on the straight and narrow?

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 00:10

zembo hope you are taking it easy and getting a better night's rest despite the old lady nattering Smile

redllamayellowllama · 04/02/2011 00:11

We probably should. Dresses are my absolute weakness. I am permitting myself one more dress purchase for the next few months - it has to be a day dress that is both practical and beautiful. Which this isn't.

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 00:20

LOL, it's always us llama at the hour. Night owls. I'm shuffling off to bed now, early start tomorrow and all that.

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 00:21

this hour.

Clearly I'm not fit to type!

PlumSykes · 04/02/2011 08:29

Morning all,

Complete A&W uniform today.

Breton knit
Primark skinnies
Ash high-tops
WIT-esque statement necklace.

plus too much Chanel London Bus Red lippy.

Boring, but cosy on such a blustery day, and still stylish, after all!

monkeysmama · 04/02/2011 08:34

Morning

My Lottas have just arrived. Buckle feels a tad flimsy but am happy with them I think. I think the tan colour will go with lots of my summer stuff. Will wear them a bit and see how I go and if I still want red ones too!

carciofi · 04/02/2011 08:43

Zembo, hope you got more rest last night.

Looby, the tea dress is very pretty. The 20% off at Crumpet offer ended on 31st Jan. I am waiting for the sale/guilt present from my father!

Plum, I am going to wear something similar.

I have to check out the Lottas. I was going to get the Boden red clogs as I have things to exchange but flat shoes might be a better buy with a new baby.

AntPants1 · 04/02/2011 09:21

Roma could I have the link to the charlotte Mann print. I love her work. Thanks

X

hf128219 · 04/02/2011 09:26

Plum Sounds good!

MM Keep us posted on the Lottas. Tempted as they look just like Hasbeens on the website.

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 09:27

The Crumpet offer is still showing on their VIP page but you nede to log in to get the details, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will still be around as and when I get around to ordering the scarf.

Plum the lashings of red lipstick will lend masses of glamour to anything. Sounds fab.

Am sat at work in the lively dress Grin.

Still no Cake? Quite weird without her here. Have any of her FB buddies heard from her recently?

carciofi · 04/02/2011 09:54

Just checked my email from the person at Crumpet PR ... it is valid until 28th February. Good as my birthday is coming up. :)

Zembo · 04/02/2011 09:55

Morning ladies! I'm pleased to say I had a better night and feeling a lot brighter today. Even managed to have a shower, although it's taken it out of me a bit.

Tracey I'm accessorising my hospital gown with lovely black opaque anti-thrombosis stockings. I was stripped of my wedding ring and diamond studs for the op. Also still no purse!!!

carciofi · 04/02/2011 10:05

Zembo, at least the stockings aren't American Tan! Glad you got more rest.

RipMacWinkle · 04/02/2011 10:13

Just a quickie from me as I'm wrestling dealing with DD.

geordie did you try the Debenhams where I live? They had a few navy Janice's last time I was in. I know they defo had a 10 and 12 because I looked and reported back to bunnymother.

Was someone else still looking for one - was it OWW? I'm heading to Debenhams tomorrow so could look then if you like?

RipMacWinkle · 04/02/2011 10:14

Also to add Zembo as a lurker/sometime poster - I'm sorry to hear that you are in hospital but glad that you're getting treated now and know what's happening.

And also, glad that this thread is giving you a little respite.

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2011 10:15

Zembo pleased it was a better night. You must get that wallet! Wink Smile

Finally my NaP arrived with the Outnet. And I love it all. Again!

See by Chloe is gorgeous but even the small is huge. Needs a belt but will keep it. (realises they must pin stuff on the models for the pic, humph)

A Vince slouchy cream sweater is very soft and lovely and floral dress is pretty.

AllBuggiedOut · 04/02/2011 10:20

Morning all. Thank you for thinking of me yesterday in Selfridges! It was great fun, and I tried on some lovely dresses, but none that were right for my party. I think the woman really knew her stuff (as you would hope) and there was very little that I put on and said no immediately, so I think she picked shapes really well. She wasn't at all pushy and pointed out (repeatedly...) that it was a bit early for SS collections. She also offered to keep my details and to let me know if she sees anything come in that I might like, so fingers crossed.

I loved this Roland Mouret in this sort of colour. It fitted beautifully and felt amazing on, but was (a) to £££ and (b) not "party" enough. And this RM looked great until I tried to walk - which I couldn't because the skirt was too tight!

Another RM (again, different colour) was lovely on the skirt but the top swamped me.

This Alexander McQueen was a good shape but the colour a bit "meh". Interesting to try on though; I'd never have picked it out but it was very flattering.

I felt like I should be getting married in this Max Mara. No idea why she showed me that one!

Paul Smith in orange was I think the cheapest she showed me and I didn't like it at all; too flimsy and too billowing at the top.

Another nice but too work-y was this Donna Karan.

There was also a halter neck which draped at the front with the fabric gathered through a gold snake. Can't find a link or rememnber the designer, but I felt too tarty in it. There may well be more tha I have forgotten and will link if I think of anythng interesting. If I learnt anything, it's that when I am rich (ha ha) I will wear a lot of Roland Mouret!

Meanwhile, the Mango shorts I couldn't link to for roary and oooh... I have these. The fit is generous. And I also tried and liked these. HTH! Right will catch up on rest of thread later. zembo hope you are OK.

VerityBrulee · 04/02/2011 10:21

Zembo sounds like you're on the mend, take things very slowly. All new magazines out now, get dh to bring you in a pile of them. Lots of colour in them which is so cheering on a grey day.

Roma can I see your legs? Grin

Bloss have a fabulous day today, hope you win Smile

I am colour blocking today! Deepish red skirt, dusty pink silky jumper, raspberry long cardigan, belt that matches jumper. Really like it, feels good to be out of navy and black. Problem with legs though, have red opaques and red patent shoes but think that might be overkill, so compromised with navy opaques and shoe boots. Might need the red Lottas for S/S.

blossoming · 04/02/2011 10:22

Snap plum and carciofi. I have decided on my rugby outfit. EA goes to rugby..
Black skinnies, dark grey R&B ankle boots, hanro vest, long sleeve breton, thin black cardigan, (genius slim fit hooded grey fleece from millets), under the Barbour Cameron (bum covering and belted), without the hood, grey beret, and although I would prefer my massive charcoal stole with this ensemble, I fear our relationship wouldn't make 10 years and one day, if I didn't wear my new red one instead. Not brilliant, but the best I can do, and no added bulk. As always in these non-heel wearing situation, I follow the mantra of 'wear more make up', so have lashings of blooz eyeliner, 100s of coats of mascara, blusher and Chanel Rouge Coco in Rivoli. (Am I plum?)
I am taking an overnight bag. It is my baby bag: the il tutto mia in black. Without the scary teddy, and with the waterproof liner taken out. I am so pleased. Oldies will remember that we were almost in counselling after DH saw the receipt (although the HiP grant paid some of it, and I had 2 in nappies at the time). It fits my make up, straightners, change of clothes, charger, book and nightwear. Roll on 12.30!

Oh Marsha, what a beautiful haul. Particularly love the JC dress, near enough exactly what I'm looking for.

Have had 3 deliveries this morning and there are more due. The decorator is all [hmmm]. Trip to JL postponed till tomorrow after a gruelling night with both DCs wanting to play.

Good to hear you sounding a lot brighter Zemob, hope your recovery continues to go well.
