Must preview Hmm and Zembo, of course.

VerityBrulee · 04/02/2011 10:28

Good haul Marsha, love those dresses.

ABO what beautiful dresses, particularly love the McQueen, but there's no way I could wear that colour. Sounds like a nice way to spend a few hours even if you didn't come home with 'the one'. When's your party?

VerityBrulee · 04/02/2011 10:36

Bloss outfit sounds perfect balance between glamorous and cosy. Red lipstick and scarf strikes the right note for patriotism!

The bag was a good investment, surely dh must appreciate that now Wink

Red sorry you had a bad night, me too, dd up coughing a lot. Nice to have some deliveries to brighten your morning!

OK, have a job that I have been putting off for ages - sorting out dd's Sylvanian Family 'world', we have houses, hotel, windmill house, multiple shops, caravan, each one with hundrends of teeny, tiny little accessories

MarshaBrady · 04/02/2011 10:52

Thanks Red and Verity Smile

I really love pretty stuff atm too. I will keep an eye out for a dress like the JC one.

Just need some decent weather to go with it!

Also am secretly pleased surprised as ordered everything in 2s, s and xs and the s are a bit big. Which means I am a bona fide s. xs. Who'd have thought it?! Thanks Hells Wink Grin

ABO amazing dresses, was it good fun? (better than NaP? Grin)

Verity I too have something left to do which I am not looking forward to doing much... take all my boots to the cobblers.

geordieminx · 04/02/2011 11:00

rip just rang them (and every other phase eight concession) but she didn't have a clue what I was talking about... Stupid cow. Grrrr

blossoming · 04/02/2011 11:10

Appalling service geordie.

Thank you verity. Dh is as nervous and stressed as if he's playing. My dad's the same. When will we ever learn!

Glad you're feeling better zembo. Don't come out till you're ready though will you?

marsha, I think you win the avid prize. Lovely stuff.

abo, sounds like you had a good day anyhow.

OP posts:
geordieminx · 04/02/2011 11:16

Blossoming, don't you find that it happens a lot - especially over the phone, takes ages to answer then it's like it's too much effort for them to even listen to what you are saying never mind go and check.

Alas John Lewis have come up trumps - they just rang and they have 2 in stock, although only reduced to £42. they are holding them for me until tomorrow... Whoooo hooooo.

AllBuggiedOut · 04/02/2011 11:26

Hurrah for JL geordie!

bloss have a great day. I am sure you look perfect.

It was fun marsha - although I think wouldn't have been without a friend as there's a lot of waiting around while the flunkie goes to get the dresses. Friend and I drank fizzy wine champagne and had a good catch-up though which was nice. And I got to buy the pierre herme macaroons I missed out on at christmas so I was pleased about that too Grin Party is mid-April verity so plenty of time yet to find The One.

Ooh, Boden parcel just dropped on mat. Off to try on "casual skirt". God I hate the names they give things.

carciofi · 04/02/2011 11:36

Bloss, the outfit sounds perfect. Come on, Wales (sorry, England Grin)! I have already been warned that I have to take DD out tomorrow afternoon so DH can watch the Irish match in peace.

ABO, sounds like a nice afternoon.

Good news on the dress, Geordie.

Lovely clothes, Marsha.

15% off at Asos with the code springvip.

redllamayellowllama · 04/02/2011 11:46

Geordie, JL will definitely price match - take in iPhone or similar to show price on website. Honestly, I would be so happy if I could live in JL.

Hope you enjoy your day Bloss, outfit sounds stylish and warm, well conceived!

Boo to bad night Verity. Reiss lace amongst the deliveries and is gorgeous. I love. Boring jobs here too; sorting DCs clothes, cleaning bathrooms. Yuck.

Bath/Bristol ladies. DH has found job of his dreams in location of his dreams and is applying. I like to be organised, so want to investigate places to live. Am clueless, being a London girl. So, requirements are the usual; good schools, smallish town/village within proximity of good shopping Grin, good stuff to do locally with kids (hate driving, but can). Job is north of Bristol. TIA.

Bonsoir · 04/02/2011 11:53

redllama - tracey is your girl for Bath/Bristol. Bath is a much, much nicer family base than Bristol!

redllamayellowllama · 04/02/2011 12:01

Of course she is! Tracey? Some words of wisdom?

hf128219 · 04/02/2011 12:15

Oh look Wine

What fun!

TheAllNewOoooh · 04/02/2011 12:29

Wine o'clcok by now, surely ?

I like.

AllBuggiedOut · 04/02/2011 12:36

Cheers! Wine Grin

And on this subject, will somebody please explain to me what this is all about? Bear

Confused
hf128219 · 04/02/2011 12:39

I think it was to do with Children in Need Appeal.

AllBuggiedOut · 04/02/2011 12:44

Thanks hf! (As you can tell, I no longer venture any deeper into MN than this thread!)

traceybath · 04/02/2011 12:49

Hello!

I lived in Bristol as a student and then have pretty much always lived in Bath or surrounding countryside and do much prefer Bath.

Bath itself is lovely and there are excellent schools both state and private but the good state primaries are pretty hard to get into unless you go to church/live on the doorstep.

In terms of villages - you probably want good access to the m4 so villages north of Bath like Marshfield/Nettleton etc are good.

The nice villages and good bits of Bath are pretty expensive - probably not that dis-similar to London prices to be honest.

PM me if you want any particular info.

Bloss - have fun!

traceybath · 04/02/2011 12:52

Looby - I looked at that brora tea dress in the shop and its very pretty but quite long so think you'd need to be fairly tall for it to work on or alternatively you'd need to get it taken up.

Romanholiday · 04/02/2011 12:53

That bear thing was from a hilarious thread a while ago where a couple recounted a dinner party where the hosts behaved like total fruitcakes. They were persuaded by mners to reciprocate the invitation and ham it up. "pombear anyone?' I think was the line. I'll have a look for it.

Romanholiday · 04/02/2011 12:57

this is the thread that spawned the pombear emoticon

PlumSykes · 04/02/2011 13:07

One of my all time fave threads, Roman. I was shrieking with laughter at the time.

pickledsiblings · 04/02/2011 13:09

I remember that thread Roman, it was hilarious Grin

ABO, what fab frocks you got to try on

Marsha, what fab frocks you have bought, inspired no doubt by your recent foray into sunny climes

Tracey, how's the house 'stuff' going?

ItsNotUnusual · 04/02/2011 13:10

carciofi I'm a bit Blush that I appear to have bought a rip off of the beautiful red Crumpet scarf for only a tenner
I do love it though!

I hope blossoming is having a fab time in Cardiff. I am taking notes of blossoming's outfit in case I am ever promoted to be allowed to go to the match. My husband is always full of nerves before a match in a 'wouldn't look out of place in a Lions changing room' kinda way.
I live miles further west than Cardiff in the sort of place where the toddler groups have talks about the awful state of local toddler teeth rather than how to sacrifice your needs for the sake of your husband pleasure your loveeer.

PlumSykes - sounds stylish to me! I have my first skinnies and Breton en route as we speak. From, errr, New look though. I've been waaaay too avid already!

Lovely links MarshaBrady.

bunnymother · 04/02/2011 13:23

Ha ha, loved the "how to pleasure your DH/DP" talk. Although am confused about how to get erotic in the kitchen w DD1 standing at the childproof gate yelling for more rice cakes?? And a quick handy before dinner, now is that whilst feeding the twins or trying to get DD1 to calm down?? Wish I was there to clarify those points.

Re toddler groups, am in Kensington & Chelsea borough so, of course, there were boxes of Book Start bags being given away. Sure, because all those precious DCs being ferried by SAHMs or nannies between playgroup, Monkey Music, Rhyme Time at the the library, swimming classes, gymboree etc, really need a free hand out of some books Hmm. Should mention that I am not one of the boroughs wealthier residents Smile, just in case mention of K&C sounded too wanky for words. But, really, aren't there some boroughs where literacy is possibly more of a problem?? Or am I completely deluded?
