traceybath · 13/01/2011 11:31

loobylu3 · 13/01/2011 11:45

Have added zembo and bunny to my friends list!

It's amazing to see how many regular posters there are on this thread. It's a really supportive community :)

Thank you for kind comments re childcare issues/ family.

DD2 wasn't well enough for nursery so am at home but hoping she will be better tomorrow.

red- love that Whistles dress and was v tempted by it myself but resisted due to the price. Well done on grabbing a bargain!

Lovely Warehouse stripy dress too- apologies can't remember who linked to it.

florenceuk · 13/01/2011 11:50

macmama - we are both from NZ but been here now for 13 years (arrived just before the 1997 election). While some bits of NZ are probably highly fashionable, the bits where we went (West Coast Sth Island, East Coast North Island) definitely weren't! All great except when DH fell out of the campervan bunk and broke his ribs (but as they weren't my ribs had surprisingly little impact on the rest of the holiday).

PlumSykes · 13/01/2011 11:57

Pickled, sorry! Wasn't ignoring you, was hoping it might be added to M&S site this monring, perhaps. No luck, so no link, but is Limited Collection M&S, and I guess new in, as was on fitting of spring-y bits at front of store

pickledsiblings · 13/01/2011 12:03

Thanks Plum Smile

Zembo · 13/01/2011 12:05

Tracey do you have a link, don't know what that one looks like.

Looby thanks for adding me. You're all so beautiful!

Florence hope you get on top of the jet lag soon. It's taken me about 3 days and I only had a 6 hour time difference.

macmama · 13/01/2011 12:09

"some bits of NZ are probably highly fashionable"

haha! Possibly - I would like to think some chunks of Wellington are! (gives self away completely!)

Are you in London - PM me if you are always keen to meet other fashion inspired Kiwis (or any Kiwis TBH).

PlumSykes · 13/01/2011 12:17

pickled, have found it, not Limited Collection at all, just regular M&S

OllieWollieWoo · 13/01/2011 12:18

Pickled I love my Book Club. We discussed The Slap last night and it was one of the best discussions we've had (ie we didnt stray off topic too much!) even tho none of us particularly liked the book. Someone mentioned the new book you are reading but we are doing One Day by David Nicholls next (already read and liked).
Kildare lovely grey dress you linked too - good reduction too.
Sophable - not sure if you like or have tried them but I have a couple of tops with elasticated waists from Zara which work really well at covering tum. Mine are grandad style collars with 3/4 length sleeves and I wear with a vest top underneath (cream one I have is quite sheer and vest seems to help suck me in!). They are no longer on website but this one has the sort of waist I mean here.

I've learnt its best to be suitably vague with DH re cost of things!
Am thinking of getting this top here I like it but not sure how I would style it to avoid it looking too plain - would it be better with jeans or trousers?

roary · 13/01/2011 12:24

Operation Pink Cot was mostly successful! I might post a pic, it's pretty hideous.

I am v excited I might make it to a meet up, but I won't be able to spend the night - I won't feel ready to leave DS yet, he won't be one. I also might be in Canada for an extended visit in my last bit of mat leave, but would loooove to be there so keep me in the message loop.

Bunny it's not me coming to Westfield although funnily enough it is the reprise of the fancy dinner I missed with food poisoning in November, the one I had transport stress about. So I WILL be in London on Tuesday! But not at 11am. I could do a late pm meet up somewhere near Eaton Sq if anyone is about :)

Who posted the fab red dress yesterday, I LOVE it.

Do you remember my jcrew order from the US? this arrived late and is the absolute winner, it's SO lovely. I am wearing it on Tuesday, I think with orange cardi and sparkly brown belt. Having shoe quandary.

pickledsiblings · 13/01/2011 12:24

Plum, would it be bad to order both? They are lovely.

OWW yes we had a great discussion on The Slap too. One Day was another good one as some members of the group had been at Uni in Edinburgh. Do you have a meal as well? Our group has turned into a reading/cooking group with recipe sharing etc. I love it too.

roary · 13/01/2011 12:27

I want a good book club. When we lived in Perth I accidentally got into one with a bunch of people who had Harry Potter as the first choice. I then suggested Life of Pi and found myself in a world of trouble by asking what people thought it was about, because DH and I had been arguing about it for days. Was greeted with blank look and the response: "A tiger?"

Don't mean to sound snooty as you should see the kind of trash I have on my shelf (and kindle!) but I do like a good book talk.

macmama · 13/01/2011 12:41

BTW I love my Firetrap biker boots. Not sure how I lived without them now I have them!

macmama · 13/01/2011 12:41

Love the dress roary

Romanholiday · 13/01/2011 12:56

I have book club tonight, but seems like no book was chosen for it, so it will be wine and cheese club, I expect Grin.

A friend/colleague has fixed up for me to see a VVIP (in bureaucratic terms) to talk about a job opportunity. Am psyching 'self up to call - always find these things a bit of a cringe tbh.

notyummy · 13/01/2011 13:00

Roary - great to hear you may be able to make it! Will add you to MOAM list.

blossoming · 13/01/2011 13:11

roary, great dress!

OP posts:
macmama · 13/01/2011 13:24

ltec well done on the early rising - hope it works for you - it sure isn't easy but your reasons for working this way are very admirable.

I wish I could go back to lark hours - owl is no longer working for me - seriously unproductive and permanently knackered! (think the 2 go hand in hand!)

mrsjuan · 13/01/2011 13:31

ok - gulp. HH pictures should be there. Please ignore hideousness of pale legs and shoes - I hope to get better ones to go with it if it's a keeper.
It is a bit big around the bosoms but I think I could fiddle with that. Hope shred/diet will slim down legs a bit to minimise clinginess - otherwise I will be buying industrial strentgh spanx.

Romanholiday · 13/01/2011 13:47

Can I see pics MrsJuan? Have a bit of HH envy!

carciofi · 13/01/2011 13:53

MrsJuan, I think the dress looks good on you but better without tights. You look fab in the last photo, by the way, you have a lovely smile.

Bloss, I will let you know as soon as I hear of a Sweaty Betty code. I am on their mailing list. Anything I have bought from them has been long enough in the sleeve.

Good luck with the call, Roma.

Welcome back, Florence. I am going to NZ at the end of the month, can't wait.

My faulty wallet was delivered to Harrods, woohoo! So there is hope for the other parcels.

Just received these. I like them so much I might get them in another colour. They are very comfortable but quite narrow (may be good for you, Roary?).

pickledsiblings · 13/01/2011 13:56

MrsJ you so do not need to wear tights with that. You look fab. A metallic shoe would be kinder to naked legs than black though.

Roary I adore the colour and cut of your dress.
