Just lost a post, grr.

Everything, that really sucks. When will you know for sure?

Hi to the delurkers.

Milli, I will let you know how the Belstaffs are when they arrive. I miss my old salary too! Ebay is good but I would be better off not buying the stuff I sell in the first place!

I got soaked taking DD to preschool, I am definitely buying a North Face artic parka early next autumn.

carciofi · 17/01/2011 11:45

Oooh, I think you should tell your DH that you aren't keen on the bags.

blossoming · 17/01/2011 11:47

Woah, Christina Aguilera had a few too many mince pies I think.

No time to catch up, but just nipping in to say Happy Birthday Smile

I remember the days when we took 3 weeks to fill a thread

Hope the January blues are passing and all are happy and healthy. RL a bit mad at the moment, so it's lovely to have the MU too look forward to.

Mwah, mwah

macmama · 17/01/2011 12:17

Happy birthday all.

Well done Tracey and LTEC for starting such a successful ?movement?!

Having cleared some of my wardrobe getting dressed was a breeze this morning. Am wearing leg flashing black Joseph short sleeve shift dress together with prince of wales check forties style (ie, flared waist) jacket with narrow leather belt on the top, black tights and black riding boots. Despite boringness I have been told I look good Wink!

everything you poor petal, hope the changes ultimately don?t pan out as badly as it seems to be now. A few months ago I thought I was going to have to transfer as we lost so many contracts in the CSR but things are actually busy now, the work has just changed ? hope somehow that the news isn?t as black and white as you have just heard

DD1 went to her school for special costume day today dressed as the most gorgeous of kitties complete with my face painting efforts ? she was so excited! Watching her on the stage was lovely mama moment ? She is sooo pretty!

macmama · 17/01/2011 12:18

sorry for all the sick DCs - hope they get better soon!

hellsbelles · 17/01/2011 12:22

All a bit grey here. I've heard my grandmother has had a heart attack and is having her last rights read.

She is a lovely lady though I never got very close to her...my paranoid schizophrenic Uncle lived with her until his death so visits were not fun to say the least (his illness was very severe and as children his behaviour was, to be honest, terrifying).

Just waiting to hear when we will be able to visit...it's quite a journey so I'm hoping it'll be sooner rather than later.

Fritzi - thank you for asking re blood tests...it's unlikely to be anything problematic - GP is just being prudent.

Tracey - hope DS is coping o.k...it's such a horrid illness.

Fleecy · 17/01/2011 12:26

mac outfit sounds fab

hells sorry to hear about your grandmother Sad

roma well if you're going to be sniffy about the Daily Mail try this Grin

Fleecy · 17/01/2011 12:27

Claire Danes looks lovely in that link.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the Fug girls to post their thoughts.

PlumSykes · 17/01/2011 12:41

Oh hells, I am very sorry.

PlumSykes · 17/01/2011 12:41

I don't like WIT doing make-up, though it does remind me I need to update my own blog.

ItsNotUnusual · 17/01/2011 12:50

Happy Birthday W&Aers!

thanks for the Daily Mail link OllieWollieWoo It's like a lesson in how to wear colour.

Sorry to hear of family illnesses and troubles especially hellsbelles

But hurrah for pretty kitties macmama My girls are too old for cutesy dressing up. The last time my eldest dressed up as an animal it was a playboy bunny 3 years agoBlush - she is 21 though! A group of about 15 of them ( all slim leggy beauties) caused rather a stir when they popped into the local small town Asda to buy carrots to accessorise their outfits.

Not wearing anything W&A-worthy though this is my most recent and favourite purchase. Nice and cheap and a small foray away from my usual blah-ness:red leopard scarf

mini hurrah for finding the [ & ] keys!

pickledsiblings · 17/01/2011 13:00

hells, sorry about your grandmother Sad

Everything, I hope what macmama says turns out to be the case and that things will not be as bad as they seem now.

Fritzi, I love it, celebrating by working in bed Smile.

NY, be careful, those programmes can lure you in and before you know it you'll be thinking about home improvements.

Speaking of home improvements, I wonder how Bonsoir is getting on with hers?

Thanks for all the Golden Globe links. I quite liked the way the DM arranged the dresses by colour. I am not lusting after a single one of those dresses though. I'm sure there'll be more to 'Ooh' and 'Ahh" over at the MOAM.

Should we invite the press Grin?

Oh, nearly forgot, well done babyjuan.

traceybath · 17/01/2011 13:01

Is it really only 1pm?

Hells - oh your poor grandmother and poor you Sad

Everything - lordy - you're certainly having ore than your fair share of stress at the moment. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Mac - DD sounds very cute and I agree she is v pretty from having seen her photos on fb.

Had to wait an hour at the Dr's and need to go back on Wednesday to see how DS is. Can't say its anything too bad at the moment thank goodness but he's very up and down.

Esher - where are you? I want to know how the gilet was and if we'll be wombling down to wimbledon anytime soon Wink

NY - oh you poor thing - hope you feel better soon.

I liked Claire Danes but thought Angelina looked awful but am not a fan of hers really. January - less is more!

Romanholiday · 17/01/2011 13:11

Plum can you link to your blog?

Belgian waffling is my fave blog at the mo. Very good, though it's marvellousness might be a bit lost on those of you lucky enough to live in a country other than Belgium!

redllamayellowllama · 17/01/2011 13:13

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother Hells.

An already stressful day compounded with a 1 hour wait at Docs?! Doesn't sound fun Tracey, fingers crossed for simultaneous naps at your place.

Mac, your outfit sounds fab, not boring in the slightest.

Everything, as Mac so eloquently put it, hope things aren't as black and white as they have been reported to be.

Romanholiday · 17/01/2011 13:22

Sorry about your grandmother hells

chortle at the 18yo Playboy bunnies in Asda Itsnotunusual Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 17/01/2011 13:25

Hells, Tracey and Everything big tins of salmon to you. I really feel for all of you.

Pickled - laughed at your inviting the press comment - maybe we will end up in the Evening Standard Friday supplement (ES?) on the society type pages!

Re telling DH about MOAMU - he is suitably bemused by the whole trip. Had the "so let me get this right, you're flying over to meet strangers who like dresses?" type conversation!

Talking of dresses (did you see what I did there?), saw this wool type dress on ASOS - would the different sleeve lengths drive you nuts? Esp the longer sleeve which judging from the pics, may limit arm raising??? thoughts?

hellsbelles · 17/01/2011 13:26

thanks all...forgive me for typing 'last rights' rather than 'last rites'. My catholic mother will be appalled.

The better news for us that is that my mother is now with her and she has been moved to a peaceful room.

Everything so sorry you are facing this - please let us know how it goes.

redllamayellowllama · 17/01/2011 13:33

Good that she can be somewhere peaceful, with family around her. Lots of un-MN hugs to you.

OWW, the dress is lovely, but I think you're right about the sleeves. Also, if it was a cold day, you'd want a cardie, thus ruining asymmetric effect and would the longer sleeve annoy on a warmer day? Bit nit-picky of me, but these things must be considered!

Having hair-cut at end of week and having a fringe/no fringe dilemma. Have had one, of varying lengths for the last 5 years and can't decide whether it suits me or not.

Oh hells and everything - sorry you've both had bad news this morning.

Hells - Hope your grandmother remains peaceful and that you can vist soon.

OWW - my DH's reaction was similar - he thinks I've lost it I think!

I have changed into breton, skinnies and ash high tops to honour our birthday Smile

Looby - thank goodness for your eagle eye - yes I can return it. I had just been looking at the receipt which says no returns but I guess that just applies to the shop, not online.

hells- so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I hope she is comfortable and calm.

everything- although I haven't met you, my heart goes out to you with the really rough ride at the moment. Fingers crossed for much better things to come.
Totally agree about Julianne Moore's dress wearing her- she normally looks v beautiful too!

mrsjuan · 17/01/2011 13:46

Which ones do you think suit her everything?
