If you would have to pick one of the outfits from the Golden Globes, which would it be? I really find it difficult as there are so many which look slightly odd I think.

I think I would choose Eva Longoria's black Zac Posen or Angelina Jolie's...

fritzi, sorry you're having a frustrating morning. Pain au chocolat, coffee and MN though? What's not to love!
Annoyingly dh is wfh so it may take a while to access GG photos. We have wifi but we compete against each other and he wins!
ants, I am thrilled the jacket worked out. Isn't it beautifully soft ?!
Well done CF. I wouldn't say no, but he wouldn't be my first choice. Daniel Craig though..!!
I may not buy anything today but I am awaiting delivery of the Love Story jeans.

Fritzi - at least you look fab whilst having a trying morning Smile

Bloss - you are so going to love those jeans Grin

Romanholiday · 17/01/2011 10:11

I have JBrand love story jeans that I bought 2 years ago. Does that make me incredibly trendy/avant garde or just out of touch? I tried on everything in Trilogy and they were the nicest pair.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/01/2011 10:11

bloss Just googled your new jeans: They will be perfect with the Pure jacket!

tracey Please have a nice cup of coffee, something nice to eat and take some time to relax after doctor's appointment. Can you just cuddle up on the couch with DS with a DVD? Is DD at home too or is she at nursery? Hope you'll feel better soon.

MilliONaire · 17/01/2011 10:28

Happy Birthday everyone!
I love reading all your birthday celebration outfits Grin

Can I be nosey and ask what the signifiance of the owls is? If it helps my wise and avid case at all my dd has an owl dress, top and skirt all from DPAM and she wears them a lot and loves them. We get her an something with an owl on it whenever we travel (fly) and it has persisted as a bit of a habit. Oh and I am lusting after an Alex Monroe necklace with birds (possibly an owl) on it!

I can't figure out if I am warm autumn or soft autumn from those websites linked yesterday. I have red hair (but not really bright orangey red, more Julianne Moore), pale skin which freckles and has a bluey undertone as opposed to golden, rarely tan (but am a dab hand with the fake at this stage!) green eyes but of a 'muddy' sort as opposed to crystal clear green iykwim? Does it make much of a difference to know whether it is warm or soft though?

I am so lusting after so many of the amazing clothes you have all provided links to - damn being a sahm - I NEED money Grin

I will start getting to know all the names soon I promise and will be able to answer individually (I hope) but for now..thanks for the lovely welcome & Blossoming - great minds think alike with the feathers dress, I am going to wear mine with some black opaque tights and Paul Smith black suede high heeled ankle boots (they have blue stitching on the toes as though they are victorian boots) sounds odd written doown but they are lovely - got them for a wedding the year before last but have nor yet found anything nicer or more comfy to wear on a nigth out! So I live with the fact that they are 2 seasons olsd ....

MilliONaire · 17/01/2011 10:31

God my spelling is dreadful - apologies - typing too fast in my avidness Smile

God everything that's dreadful.

loobylu3 · 17/01/2011 10:48

Happy Birthday everyone! As I wasn't around at the start of this thread, I hadn't realised it was cake who got the whole thing rolling so big thank you to cake!
Well done on being so productive with Op Lark too!

Welcome redliquorice and unusual!
You look fabulous in the photo and I'm sure bloss is right re warm tones being right for you.

Sorry to hear that NY and tracey's DS are feeling so poorly and hope you all get better soon!

mrsJ- great news re DD's sleeping! Did you buy your HH dress from 'Shop at Anna's'? I was thinking of buying the NF coat from there and thought their returns policy was full refund within 14 days. Just thought I would point it out in case you hadn't noticed :)

roma- another CF fan who is v {envy} about you meeting him! Have been hoping to persuade DH to see his new film but so far he hasn't been all that enthusiastic :(

Having a bit of a dull day today, packing up parcels to return to various stores/ friends after going a bit mad over Kurt Geiger shoes in the sale Blush. I'm having to return all of them!
Hope you all have lovely days and get better soon!

notyummy · 17/01/2011 10:50

Happy birthday!

Everything- I feel your pain. That is awful. Any idea of timescales?

Am on sofa feeling sorry for myself. Must be ill as watching Homes Under the Hammer in yoga pants....surely it doesn't get any worse than this?

Fleecy · 17/01/2011 10:56

Happy Birthday to all! Yay for a whole year and thanks to tracey and cake for kicking off such a marvellous thread. I am celebrating by working in bed today. Am wearing Breton and skinnies, not exactly setting the fashion world alight but not shameful either.

ny hope you?re feeling better today and that you have the chance to rest up

tracey sorry to hear about your DS, so horrid when they?re poorly and you just want to make it all better. I always panic as soon as one of mine is even slightly under the weather! Not too early for wine - bloss was passing the champers round at half six this morning. Love it!

red you stunner!

Well done littleJ (the one here, not in Gossip Girl!)

everything that?s not good. Any idea how long?

LetThemEatCake · 17/01/2011 11:08

Oh no everything!

Have decided was bad choice of outfit for coming to ceramics cafe with dd and ds2. Am looking considerably less polished than a few hours ago. Rainy day frizz ball hair too Blush

FritziGreenEyes · 17/01/2011 11:09

everything Sorry you got bad news. Have you got any details yet or left in the dark about your future?

LetThemEatCake · 17/01/2011 11:10

Less polished and more painty, to be precise

blossoming · 17/01/2011 11:15

Awful news everything.
ny, I loved Homes under the Hammer last year when dd was constantly napping! Get well soon!
tracey, fritzi, I fear I will love those jeans, yes.

Mumsnut · 17/01/2011 11:22

Those Golden Globe dresses - so many horrors. Christina Hendricks looks as if she is being eaten by hers. CZJ is wearing Astroturf, surely?

Fleecy · 17/01/2011 11:25

I am liking how ScarJo (sorry) pulls off the nude colour with the darker hair, lippy and slight golden glow stopping her from looking washed out. I have similar colouring to her here so am going to try it myself in summer. Am always wary of looking one colour all over!

roary · 17/01/2011 11:26

Happy Birthday!

Cakey did you see my question about the aftermath of the Lion REturn? What do the DCs think about that robber when they pass now?

Tracey Am certain our DD had swine flu in the first bout - her temp was so high, and I've never seen her more miserable. Hope your little one gets better.

Loved the Daily Mail Golden Globes dress link. Can I just say that January JOnes is an illustration of Wearing the Wrong Shade of Red? THe colours they have her in on Mad Men always suit her much better.

Am very sloppily dressed in lovely jumper and skinnies.

Hells judging by your Gossip Girl and ANTM references you and I share taste in quality television.

Everything oh my goodness - hope everything is ok at work.

roary · 17/01/2011 11:33

Sorry, that was FLeecy with the GOssip Girl reference!

Romanholiday · 17/01/2011 11:34

Get off the DM everyone, and look at trash sleb pix on a proper paper like the Guardian

January Jones always wears horrible dresses off the set, she should really sack her stylist, don't you think?

roary · 17/01/2011 11:34

Also: last call to see if anyone will be in the vicinity of Sloane Square in the late afternoon/early evening tomorrow. I may even do some shopping.

roary · 17/01/2011 11:35

Roman I think she tries to avoid the period look, but goes way too far in the other direction. Same with Christina H, actually.

notyummy · 17/01/2011 11:41

Think Anne Hathaway looks amazing.
