OWW this one in blue.

choo - Will re-send. You will look great in the HH.

Theallnewmoooh I prefer your choice. It's very Mad Men in the structure. Bag A is second preference. Very similar to the TS red bag I think Traceyb linked to.

Redliquorice · 16/01/2011 22:02

DT110 & Zembo - Blush after your very kind comments!

Zembo - I don't think I really appreciated Dhaka when I was there. It's only now that I realise how lucky I was to have that experience. Mad, mad place but fun!

I am sooo Envy of those of you attending the meet up. Sounds like you are all going to have a blast! Gosh, I'm nervous enough posting here never mind being brave enough to meet upGrin!

Oooh - I like the black patent bag but then I do tend to like clean lines. If I were you, I would be honest and get something you really like..esp for that amount of £££!!

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 22:06

red I know you long time Wink and think you are gorgeousness. Wish you would come to meet up. Maybe next time if we can't work on you over next few weeks

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 22:07

oooh deffo too much to waste spend on something you are not 100% on. Be lovely and tactful and honest as I'm sure you are and he will likely just be relieved that weight of responsibility has been lifted!

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2011 22:13

Ooooh - awkward one but prefer your choice. Agree with Redliquorice - be honest - too much money to not use them!
DT - lovely dress. You should ebay it - given its re-release it will probably sell well no? The blue would really suit a winter I think?

CHOOGIRL · 16/01/2011 22:14

You could definitely wear it cake. You are much taller and slimmer than me

RipMacWinkle · 16/01/2011 22:15

Just popping back on quickly to say if I remember correctly red you're just up the road from Geordieminx and I. Perhaps we'll need to do a splinter meet? South Lanarkshire stylee. Unless I've got the wrong MNer, in which case I apologise

Redliquorice · 16/01/2011 22:22

Rip - Yes, you are spot on! A splinter meet might up be an idea! Just need to keep taking the brave pills (aka Crabbies Ginger Beer!)Grin

pickledsiblings · 16/01/2011 22:33

For those of you wondering how to break the news to DH about the MOAM, I have a genius idea - suggest that he goes and visits his parents with the DC that w/e - that's what I have done Grin.

That purple HH is very lovely. Do you think that you need to have a figure like SJP for it to look it's best? What is her figure type anyway? Hourglass? She has very little 'girth' and I think that's probably important to stop the skirt looking 'frumpy'. The top half would work on me, the bottom, not so much. I hope to see one of you lovely ladies in it at the meet up.

I'll be arriving in London early so would also be happy to do a pre MUMU.

DT your black 'safe' dress is fab-u-lous. Love the shoes that you linked to as well. I always feel like I'm playing dress-up in those kind of shoes. I had some lovely ones in my early 20s along with some fushia leather boots Blush.

Zembo, I will be joining you and OWW in the opaques brigade, rain or shine.

NY, sorry to hear that you are ill. I hope it passes quickly. No exercise until you are fully recovered

Right, off to do a GCSE Physics paper, must keep one step ahead of my tutee Wink.

ItsNotUnusual · 16/01/2011 22:35

:dons flowery bathing cap and dives right in:

Ahem. Good evening all. I am very wise to be one of your most avid readers :)

Historically I have been a fashion free zone but am trying to claw my way into being a bit more stylish in a classic sense. This thread is really inspirational and even though at first all the £££ links scared me, when I read you all properly there's a lot of ideas I can steal affordable inspiration.

My cv to join this thread reads : Stripey Janice, discovery of Falke tights, leopard print scarf and belt (nothing linkworthy)self diagnosed Winter though I don't think purple works for me but Blossoming would be proud of me for getting rid of ALL my brown stuff, have lately ordered from net-a-porter (though that my be disqualified as I ordered Uggs for my teenager!), have dropped two dress sizes (still a size 14 though) through zumba and Dukan and now I'm Shredding with my 20 month old son as my personal trainer. I'm on Level 2 and the 'jeans shopping' comment hits the spot with me.

ooooopps once I get started I can't half yap!

Anyway, I've been feeling guilty at getting to know you all through lurking so I want to join in. I feel as if i know you well enough by now to say aided by a glass of wine you're as beautiful on the inside as the outside.

:presses post:

TheAllNewOoooh · 16/01/2011 22:35

Welcome redlicorice. You are very pretty! Lovely photo.

Am building up to suggesting to DH when I open the presents that they aren't for me... You know, "I've so looked forward to these pressies, thanks for treating me... Sounds as though you've been really generous, I promise I'll be honest about what I think but I'm sure I'll love them..."

To which he said that he really liked the main one (poolside bag?) and even if it meant he was gay he might keep it for himself Hmm. Think I need some of Bonsoir's subliminal DH management skills...

It'sNotUnusual

huge welcome

what a gorgeous first post to get the night before our first birthday

Welcome Smile and thanks for diving in

we may need to talk about that flowered thing on your head however ... Grin

Redliquorice · 16/01/2011 22:45

Thanks Everything. Only leetle problem is that I don't really like brown that much, or think that I suit it really and I do wear a LOT of black!! Deluded moi Smile? Love Julianne, Marcia and Tilda though, so glad that they are on the warm Autumn list!

macmama · 17/01/2011 00:17

vin nowt wrong with black dresses I love them too maybe its a law thing we do like to play it safe. Clashing blacks don?t bother me. Will send you long reply in next couple days.

Love the LK wildie and davina.

Love the idea of the next meet up re waftiness in park and kids especially as I have ?issues? about leaving DCs even when it is a possibility (which it isn?t for the MOAM).

bloss poor you being weirded out by sleepover ?incident?. My DD1 always likes to share with MIL (and also separately likes to share with my mum and also my dear sister) whenever she can (and likes to share with me rest of time Blush) but think my situation is probably fairly unusual (put it this way, MIL was at DD2?s birth with me and I was happy with that). But you deserve a medal for keeping true feelings to yourself ? its not easy!

OPeration clearout started today - have managed to clear a few things including a really gorgeous Betty Jackson Black purple linen shirt dress - vert mad men and only worn once I think but its waay too big.

Also took my measurements today - I am officially very slim for me but waist has really thickened its all thanks to this abdominal separation I have going on can't see that it will ever go.

LetThemEatCake · 17/01/2011 05:33

traceybath · 17/01/2011 06:43

Morning! Happy Birthday. And hello to lovely new ladies.

Poor DS1 is very poorly - very hot, sore throat, headache and nasty cough Sad And of course I'm now panicking its swine flu [drama queen]. He's still in bed now which is most unlike him but am going to have to drag him out to drop DS2 at nursery Sad

Right will catch up properly later.

OllieWollieWoo · 17/01/2011 06:59

Happy Birthday To Us!

Cake and candles later perhaps?

TheAllNewOoooh · 17/01/2011 07:35

Happy birthday everyone!!

Tracey, sorry to hear about DS1. There is according to a GP friend of mine a nasty non-swine flu thing going about which also involves really high temps. She told me to give lots of calpol and kiddie nurofen to get the temperature down in case DS got it.

OWW yes to tea and cake for -breakfast--.
